Long Branch Task Force
The Long Branch Advisory Committee should be composed of fifteen (15) official members representing homeowners; educational, faith-based and or civic association members; commercial property or business owners; renters; and non-profits serving the community.
The objective of the Long Branch Advisory Committee is to:
a) Provide continued local community input on the direction and implementation of the Long Branch neighborhood revitalization strategies, such as the Village Center Linkages Project, office development, pedestrian/personal safety and streetlighting improvements; and,
b) Advise the County Executive and County Council on priorities for Long Branch on an annual basis.
Staff representatives of the Montgomery County Planning Board; Park and County Police; States’ Attorney’s Office; Department of Health and Human Services; Montgomery County Public Schools; Department of Economic Development; Department of Recreation; the City of Takoma Park; County Department of Public Works and Transportation should be designated and available to attend Long Branch Advisory Committee meetings. The Department of Housing and Community Affairs and the Silver Spring Regional Services Center should provide support to the Task Force.
The Long Branch Advisory Committee should provide periodic reports to the County Executive and County Council including a written report within one (1) year of the first meeting.
