Preparing Organizations and the Community for Emergencies

Your organization is part of a greater community. Nowhere is that more evident than during an emergency. Every business or non-profit has a responsibility to ensure their organization and their communities are prepared for a disaster. Are you ready?

Businesses and non-profits help themselves and their community by taking these steps in advance of an emergency:

  1. Make a plan
  2. Communicate your plan with your staff
  3. Help Montgomery County’s response efforts by donating vital resources during an emergency.

The Montgomery County Volunteer Center can help your organization to create a plan that will protect your employees and your investment.

You can help the Volunteer Center by agreeing in advance to donate important resources to aid in the response and recovery effort. What types of resources can your organization offer? Examples of items needed include:

  • Volunteers
  • Food
  • Potable Water
  • Sleeping Space
  • Warehouse / Storage Space
  • Conference Rooms
  • Parking
  • Telecommunications
  • And Many Other Items

Fill out our donations resource form to get started. You'll find a copy of the form in the following packets:
