Americas Recycle Day at the Eastern Montgomery Regional Services Center and other locations -
Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Solid Waste Services is hosting an “America Recycles Day” paper shredding and household good donation event. This year, they are holding four of these events, two on Saturday and two on Sunday.  

The times and locations are as follows:

November 17-19, 2009

Federal Jobs Employment Worshop-Join the Road Map to Federal Government Employment workshop to learn how to prepare quality, targeted federal resumes supported by clear knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA) statements that showcase accomplishments. Application evaluation and agency follow up procedures are also addressed. Those with no prior federal civil service experience and others seeking competitive civil service positions will benefit from this workshop.


The workshop is being offered by Montgomery College on November 17-19, 2009 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Eastern Montgomery Regional Services Center.

Senior Driver Safety Class: Attendees simply attend the one, 4-hour class and they receive their completion certificate! The class registration fees are $12.00 for AARP members and $14.00 for non-AARP members. The instructor will continue to collect the fee on the day of the class. East County Citizens Advisory Board (ECCAB) Meeting
-Residents are invited to attend the East County Citizens Advisory Board meetings and encouraged to ask questions and provide comments. The next ECCAB meeting will be held at the Eastern Montgomery Regional Services Center on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 7:15 p.m. ECCAB meetings are OPEN to the Public!  For more information, go to

Free Legal Advice Clinics -  The Montgomery County Bar Foundation Pro Bono Program, in partnership with Eastern Montgomery Regional Services Center, provides free Legal Advice Consultations for low income residents. The clinics are held on the 1st and 2nd Thursdays of each month from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Eastern Montgomery Regional Services Center. ESOL Classes - Open enrollment continues for "English For Speakers of Other Languages beginner classes at the Eastern Montgomery Regional Services Center, 3300 Briggs Chaney Road, Silver Spring, MD 20904. Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m and on Wednesday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. The classes will continue September through mid December 2009 and are open to all wanting to learn English.
