Welcome Message from the Board Chair

Welcome to the website of the East County Citizens Advisory Board (ECCAB). The board represents the interests of more than 111,250 residents of the eastern part of Montgomery County, and serves as a liaison between the residents and government officials and agencies.

We welcome the participation of all County residents at ECCAB meetings, which are held at 7:15 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month (except August). The meetings take place at the Eastern Montgomery Regional Services Center, 3300 Briggs Chaney Road, Silver Spring.

In the past year, the Board has advocated for increased pedestrian safety in East County, for a strong revitalization of Burtonsville, and for improvements to the quality of life for the residents. To ensure that ECCAB achieves its place as Montgomery County’s most effective advisory board, we ask for your assistance.

If you are a resident of East County, get to know about the Board. Information is often posted to this website regarding East County activities, who we are and what we do. All residents are welcome to attend Board meetings. Time is allocated at the start of each meeting for residents to raise issues that are important for us to know about something that was done by dozens of residents in the past year.

Attend workshops, forums, and special events to learn about the issues that county officials and agencies are addressing, and that affect each of our lives in many ways. This is a great way to voice your opinion to the county leadership.

ECCAB is determined to build on its previous success, and to achieve our ambitious goals. But this requires the involvement and support of our friends and neighbors. Contact us and tell us what you think, so that we can better serve you. Your voice is essential to ECCAB’s continued success!
