Help Beautify the Campus at The National Center for Children and Families (NCCF)

“NCCF received very dedicated and motivated volunteers this weekend. Even with the decreased number due to the weather, we still managed to get our entire nature trail outlined and mulched, and flowers pulled and planted all around NCCF's campus. In addition to that volunteers also transported and organized hundreds of school supplies, household items and clothing.”

Inwood House Halloween Party!

“The Knights of Columbus have generously donated their time, energy and money year after year to throw a wonderful Halloween Party for our Residents. The Residents enjoy the party each year and look forward to their return.”

Community Support Services: "CSS Bake-Off"

“We were so excited to participate in this year's Community Service Day! Our project was a big success; we had many volunteers from all walks of life who came together as one team to tackle the project of creating nearly 40 lasagnas and apple crisps with ingredients that were donated to us from Red Wiggler Farm and other community organizations & businesses. Everyone had fun and our supported individuals were so excited to have the meals to take home that evening.”

Painting Fun at Homecrest House

“Our group [of volunteers] was very enthusiastic and hard working!”

Stepping Stones Shelter

“Great Volunteers!!!  The students were very helpful at the flea market and IBM was wonderful in providing sprucing up at the shelter.”

Lake Needwood Clean-Up with the Lucky Clovers 4-H Club

“Sunday was a perfect, fall day. Our volunteers enjoyed the beautiful park while we picked up trash near the shoreline of the Lake Needwood. We gathered 18 bags of trash. That's good news -- the park was in great shape already. The woodland areas, picnic, trails and parking lots were well maintained. After picking up trash, several youth enjoyed the amenities of the park including fishing.”

Glen Echo’s Landscaping the Old Putt-Putt Course

Having the group out helping us with the landscaping project was a total success! With their help, we are one major step closer to creating a new picnic area for families to enjoy at Glen Echo Park. Despite the overcast skies and passing showers, our volunteers did a fantastic job!

Interfaith Clothing Center

“The Interfaith Clothing Center was fortunate to have the support of many volunteers including the County Executive himself, Isiah Leggett. County Executive Leggett and the other 29 center volunteers sorted and merchandised more than 2000 donated items. These items were some of the clothing that 57 Montgomery County families selected from and took home, free of charge on Saturday, October 24.

In addition to the hands on service provided at the Interfaith Clothing Centers, the CCCAA Chinese Community provided service through clothing collections at seven different sites throughout the County. Under the direction of Helen He, more than 200 bags of clothing were collected from individuals in the community and donated to the Interfaith Clothing Centers (ICCs). These items will help to fill the clothing centers for the hundreds of families who will shop within the coming week.

Interfaith Clothing Centers Director Sabrina Wilson, extends a warm and hearty Thank You! to the many volunteers who demonstrated their compassion for our neighbors in need. Your commitment and support are the bloodline of our program.”
