OHR Home - Non-Competitive Hiring Process for People with Disabilities

Employment Initiatives for People with Disabilities, Veterans & Veterans with Disabilities

In our region, there are people with disabilities, veterans and veterans with disabilities who want to work, but face many barriers in achieving the goal of employment.  Montgomery County Government is committed to hiring a well-qualified, motivated, and diverse pool of applicants who will be able to deliver quality services to our residents.  We believe that people with disabilities, including veterans with disabilities are often overlooked as a recruiting source for employees who are motivated and productive.

If you have a permanent, severe physical, psychiatric or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activity and are certified by Maryland Department of Education Division of Rehabilitation Services (or an equivalent out of State Agency), you may meet the eligibility requirements under the Non-Competitive Hiring Program.

To create a profile, submit documentation of your disability (this is required) and upload your resume into our Hiring Initiative Registration for Employment Database (HIRED), please login to the website below:

Please note that this process is not linked to a specific position, but establishes a pool of applicants who can be considered for openings as they occur.

For additional assistance or information please forward your inquiry to Special.Accomodations@montgomerycountymd.gov

To maximize employment opportunities, applicants are also encouraged to visit the Careers website to view current vacancies.
