Proposed Description outlines the desired attributes of Group members. We seek a diverse group of five to seven County residents offering expertise in financial management and reporting; operations and controls; information technology; performance measurement; and public policy and administration. Applications should demonstrate a candidate’s qualifications in one or more of these categories.
As to level of commitment, the Group will meet at least twice per year, likely in the OIG offices in Rockville. The initial Group meeting will be held in the evening at a time and date to be determined by the OIG, but the time and dates of subsequent meetings will be decided by the Group based on the availability of the members. We will provide the Group with an agenda and any appropriate reading materials at least one week prior to each meeting. Group members should plan to attend each meeting in person. Group members will serve one year terms, with the understanding that no member’s term will extend beyond the current Inspector General’s tenure.
Group members will not be compensated for any time spent; will not be required to file County financial disclosure statements; and will receive no reimbursement of expenses incurred in support of the Group. The OIG will, however, provide office support as required.
The purpose of this Group is to provide objective and independent commentary to the OIG. The Group will meet infrequently, yet have a major impact on our areas and scope of reviews in the future. We see this resident involvement as beneficial and critical to the continued good governance of Montgomery County. We invite you to apply to become an initial member of this unique Group.
If you have any questions as to this invitation, please send an email to the above address. We monitor this mailbox daily. Thank you.
