ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 12-16-03, at 8:35 p.m., a Silver Spring teenager and a Chevy Chase teenager were victims of an armed robbery in the 10800 block of Georgia Ave. in Wheaton.  Three suspects approached them and two were armed with handguns.  Suspect #1(Black/M, 18-20 years, 5’5”, 150 lbs., wearing dark clothing), and suspect #2(Black/M, 18-20 years, 5’10”, 190 lbs., mustache, wearing dark clothing) pointed their guns at the victims and demanded property.    Both victims complied.  Suspect #3 (Black/M, 18-20, 5’10” 180 lbs. NFD).  Suspect #1 ran south bound on Georgia Ave.  No direction of travel for the remaining suspects.

  -On 12-13-03, at 6:00 p.m., a 75-year-old Olney man was the victim of an armed robbery in the 800 block of Olney-Sandy Spring Rd. in Olney.  The suspect walked up to him, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. The victim complied. The suspect was described as a black male, 25-30 years, 6’00”, 175 lbs., wearing a black ski mask, white shirt, black pants and a black jacket.

 

            -On 12-24-03, at 2:55 p.m., a 48-year-old man and 47-year-old woman were the victims of an armed robbery in the 11600 block of Stewart Lane in White Oak. A suspect placed an object against the man’s head and demanded his wallet.  The suspect was described as a Hispanic/M, 20-23 years, 5’7“ to 5’9”, 170-180 lbs., wearing a black sweatshirt, black face mast, armed with a small revolver.  The second suspect demanded the woman’s purse.  The second suspect was described as a Hispanic/M, 20-23 years, 5’7” to 5’9”, 160-170 lbs., wearing black sweatshirt and black mask, armed with a small black handgun.  Both suspects fled on foot towards Lockwood Drive. They were seen getting into a black 4 door Toyota Avalon with tinted windows.  Personal property was obtained.

 

            -On 12-24-03, at 12:44 a.m., the employee of the 7-11, located at 650 University Blvd. E. in Piney Branch area of Silver Spring, was the victim of an armed carjacking and robbery.  The suspect is described as a black male, 5’11”-6’00”, wearing a black shirt, gloves, black mask and was armed with a handgun.  The suspect entered the rear of the victim’s car, displayed a handgun and demanded the money.  The suspect ordered the victim to drive a short distance and then ordered him out of the car.  The suspect was last seen northbound on Piney Branch passing Carroll Avenue in the victim’s car.

 

            -On12-19-03, at 4:00 p.m., a 67-year-old male was the victim of an armed robbery in the 8800 block of Flower Ave. in the Silver Spring. The first suspect approached the victim,  displayed a knife, and demanded money. Suspect #1 described as a Hispanic male, in his 40’s, 5’11”, heavy set, brown hair, and a white beard and light complexion. No money was obtained.  The  other suspects are described as Hispanic males, 20 –25 years. They left the area in an unknown direction.

 

ATTEMPT ARMED ROBBERY

            -On 12-21-03, at 11:25 p.m., the Lowest Price Gas/Food Mart at 501 Olney Sandy Spring Road in Sandy Spring was the victim of an attempt armed robbery. The suspect entered the establishment and pointed a black handgun as the cashier, and demanded money.  The cashier fled via a rear door.  The suspect described as a black male, 6’0” wearing a black hat and mask was last seen funning on Route 108 towards Sherwood High School.  Nothing property was obtained.

 

            -On 12-17-03, at 6:00 a.m., a 45-year-old female was the victim of an attempt armed robbery in the 3800 block of Bel Pre Road in Aspen Hill.  The victim was sitting at the bus stop when the suspect sat down next to her, displayed a knife, and demanded her purse.  Other citizens began to approach the bus stop and the suspect ran from the area. The suspect described as a black male, 5’9” – 5’11”, wearing a green long ski coat, gloves and a hood that covered his face.

 

            -On 12-27-03, at 5:44 p.m., a 55-year-old Silver Spring woman was the victim of an attempt armed robbery in the 900 block of Wayne Ave. in Silver Spring.  Five suspects were also sitting at the bus stop.  Suspect #1 described as a Hispanic male, 20-22 years, 5’5” – 5”7”, wearing a red jacket and blue jeans, displayed a large knife.  Victim advised she had no money and was calling the police.  All five suspects ran on foot. No property was obtained.  Suspects #2 - #4 were all described as Hispanic male, 20-22 years, 5’5” – 5’7”, and wearing dark clothing.

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 12-22-03, at 9:45 p.m., a 41-year-old Silver Spring woman was the victim of a strong-arm robbery near Robey Road near Ballinger Drive in the Greencastle Woods area.  Two suspects approached the victim and surrounded her.  Suspect #1 described as a white male, 20-25 years, 5’10”-6’0”. 150-170 lbs. shoved the victim and the second suspect, described as a white male, 20-25 years, 5’7”-5’9”, 170-190 lbs., grabbed the victims’ purse.  Both ran towards Greencastle Blvd.   

            -On 12-28-03, at 5:45 p.m., a 22-year-old Silver Spring man was the victim of a strong-arm robbery in the 8400 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring.  Two suspects approached the victim..  Suspect # 1 (black male, 18-20 years, 5’6”-5’8”, 160 lbs with short black hair wearing dark pants black shirt and a blue jacket) punched the victim. The second suspect (black male, 18-20 years, 5’9”, 140-150 lbs, with curly shoulder length black hair, moustache, wearing a white tee shirt, and a black hat) also punched the victim. Property was taken from the victim. 

            -On 12-17-03, at 1:30 p.m., a 46-year-old Olney woman was the victim of a strong-arm robbery in the 3500 block of Vintage Spring Terrace in Olney.  The first suspect grabbed her purse and ran towards the second suspect.  The first suspect was a white male, 18-20 years, 5’9”-6’0”, wearing a silver and blue shirt and black baseball cap.  The second suspect was a white male, 20-29 years, 6’0”-6’2”, 170 pounds, short brown hair, wearing a blue jacket.  Both were seen running towards Homeland Drive. 

            -On 12-20-003, at 9:30 p.m., a 69-year-old Rockville man was the victim of a strong-arm robbery near Iris Court and Aspen Hill Road in Aspen Hill. Four suspects described as black males, 18-20 years, 5’10”, 150-170 lbs., wearing dark pants and dark jackets, approached the victim and demanded his wallet and money.   The victim was punched in the face by one suspect and his wallet and two briefcases containing personal property was taken.  The suspect left the area in an unknown direction. 

            -On 12-21-03, at 2:45 a.m., a 24-year-old Kensington man and a 25-year-old Silver Spring man were victims of a strong-arm robbery in the area of McComas Ave. and McComas Ct..  Two suspects approach the victims and demanded money.  When the victims refused, both suspects began hitting them and removed property from them.  The first suspect was a black male, 18 years, 5’8”, 180 pounds, wearing dark clothing.  The second suspect was a black male, 5’10”, 190 pounds, also wearing dark clothing. The suspects left the area in black, Mitsubishi 4-door Montero. 

            -On 12-29-03, at 11:04 p.m., a 35-year-old Silver Spring man was the victim of a strong arm robbery in the 700 block of University Blvd. East in the Piney Branch area.  The victim noticed a group of suspects running towards him.  The victim  began to run and fell. The first suspect (Hispanic male, 18-20 years, 5’6”, 140 lbs., brown eyes, short black hair, wearing a red sweatshirt, blue jeans and a light colored knit hat) demand money. He was last seen running towards Carroll Avenue.  The remaining suspects never approached him. 

            -On 12-21-03, at 3:20 a.m., a 28-year-old Wheaton man was the victim of a strong-arm robbery near Georgia Avenue and Connecticut Avenue in Aspen Hill. Four suspects (all black males, 20-30 years, 5’8” – 6’0”, 160-180 lbs., wearing dark clothing) pushed the victim to ground, beat him, and took his wallet.  The suspects were last seen running towards the K-mart store.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 

            -On 12-18-03, at 10:00 p.m., 23-year-old woman was the victim of an aggravated assault on Connecticut Avenue near Jones Bridge Road in Chevy Chase.  The suspect vehicle struck her vehicle several times then sideswiped her vehicle while she was on Jones Bridge Road. The suspect vehicle is described as a Dodge Caravan, gray or blue in color, with Maryland registration. The suspects were described as a Hispanic male and black male. No further description was provided.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT/ARREST 

            -On 12-19-03, Sheena Wright, age 35, of the 8100 block of Sonar Road in Clinton, was arrested and charged with Second-Degree Assault and Destruction of Property.  The arrest was a result of an incident on northbound I270 in Germantown.

  

BURGLARY/ARREST           

            -On 12-17-03, two 13-year-old juvenile males, one 14-year-old juvenile male, and a 14-year-old juvenile female were arrested and charged with burglary.  The arrests were the result of a burglary that occurred in the 14200 block of Grand Pre Road in Aspen Hill. 

            -On 12-20 -03, Cynthia Dianne Elder, age 43, of the 1100 block University Blvd. W., Wheaton was arrested and charged with Second Degree Burglary.  The arrest was the result of a burglary that occurred on 12-17-03 in the 1100 block of University Blvd. W., Wheaton. 

            -On 12-27-03, Carlos Garduno Basurto, age 22, of the unit block of N. Summit Drive in Gaithersburg was arrested and charged with two counts Fourth Degree Burglary, one count of Malicious Destruction of Property, and one count of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.  The arrest was the result of an incident in the 17700 block of Larchmont Terrace in Gaithersburg. 

            -On 12-27-03, Sean Maurice, age 37, of the 400 block of 15th Street, N.E., Washington, DC, was arrested and charged with Fourth Degree Burglary and Malicious Destruction of Property.  The arrest was the result of an incident in the 18300 block of Hallmark Court in Gaithersburg.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -SHADY GROVE PEDIATRICS ASSOCIATES, 15215 Shady Grove Road, Rockville, between 3:00 p.m. on 12-24-03 and 8:45 a.m. on 12-26-03.  Entered the above business and took a safe, cash and the daily cash receipts.

            -ROCKVILLE PREGNANCY CENTER, 12022 Parklawn Drive, Rockville, between 2:00 p.m. on 12-27-03 and 10:00 a.m. on 12-28-03.   Broke out window, cash taken. 

            -AGGREGATE INDUSTRIES MANAGEMENT INC., 13900 Piney Meetinghouse Rd., Rockville, between 1:00 p.m. and 12-24-03 and 8:15 a.m. on 12-29-03.  Pried window and computer equipment taken. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -10100 block of Burtons Glen Road, Potomac, between 1:00 p.m. on 12-23-03 and 1:44 p.m. on 12-24-03.  Broke thru door, unknown what was taken

            -10800 block of Swains Lock Road, Potomac, between 12:01 a.m. and 1:15 a.m. on 12-26-03.  Entered home, scuba gear, electronic equipment, and liquor taken.

3RD DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -2600 block of Antler Ct., Calverton, between 9:30 a.m. and 1:40 p.m. on 12-22-03.  Pried door, television, electronic equipment, and safe taken.

            -400 block of Southwest Drive, Burnt Mills, between 8:05 p.m. and 8:09 p.m. on 12-22-03.  Broke the door and frame, no entry.

            -14600 block of McKnew Road, Burtonsville, between 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on 12-23-03. Pried door, unknown what was taken.

            -14600 block of McKnew Road, Burtonsville, between 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on 12-23-03.  Pried door, cash taken.

            -14600 block of McKnew Road, Burtonsville, between 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on 12-23-03.  Pried door, jewelry, electronic equipment and cash taken.

            -300 block Branch Drive, Woodmoor, between 4:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on 12-23-03.  Removed window screen, jewelry taken.

            -4000 Sparrow House Lane, Burtonsville, between 11:00 p.m. and 11:20 p.m. on 12-23-03.  Attempt only, removed screen.

            -100 block of Lexington Drive, Four Corners, between 7:00 a.m. and 6:22 p.m. on 12-24-03.  Pried open door, gun taken.

            -14100 block of Castle Blvd., Briggs Chaney, between 11:00 a.m. and 11:35 a.m. on 12-25-03.  Broke out window, electronic equipment taken.

            - 800 block of Northampton Drive, Hillandale, between 10:50 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. on 12-25-03.  Attempt only, pried pry front door.

            -8700 block of Carroll Ave., Piney Branch, between 12:30 p.m. and 6:40 p.m. on 12-26-03.  Kicked in door, cash and electronic equipment taken.

            -1400 block of Blair Mill Road, Silver Spring, between 5:00 p.m. on 12-25-03 and 11:26 a.m. on 12-27-03.  Entered home, linens, clothing and pictures taken.

           

4th DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -REDLAND MIDDLE SCHOOL, 6505 Muncaster Mill Road, Rockville, between 5:00 p.m. on 12-16-03 and 6:05 a.m. on 12-17-03.  Attempt only, pried lock on the door. 

            -US PENNY AND COINS, 11269 Triangle Lane, Wheaton, between 3:45 a.m. and 4:20 a.m. on 12-19-03.  Front door smashed in, money taken.

            STAR NAILS, 35 Randolph Road, Colesville, on 12-21-03 at 3:44 a.m.  No entry, door broken out.  

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -2900 block of Dawson Ave., Wheaton Hills, between 11:00 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. on 12-18-03.  Entered through door, cash and jewelry taken.

            -3300 block of Weeping Willows Court, Aspen Hill, between 7:20 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on 12-18-03.  Entered thru front door.  Took electronic equipment, DC’s, cameras.

            -14500 block of Dunsinane Terrace, Aspen Hill, between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on 12-18-03.  Entered home, clothing taken.

            -2400 block of Ladymeade Drive, Longmeade Crossing, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on 12-19-03.  Pried door, jewelry taken.

            -2400 block of Ladymeade Drive, Longmeade Crossing, between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on 12-19-03.  Pried door, unknown what was taken.

            -2200 block of Georgian Way, Wheaton, between 8:30 a.m. and 8:15 p.m., on 12-19-03.  Broke thru window, unknown what was taken.

            -1900 block of LaPointe Drive, Wheaton, between 4:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m., on 12-19-03.  Pried open garage door, nothing taken.

            -18600 Brooke Road, Sandy Spring, between 1:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., on 12-19-03.  Pried open shed, leaf blower and gas can taken.

5th DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -11100 block of Sceptre Ridge Drive, Germantown, between 7:00 a.m. on 12-26-03 and 2:00 p.m. on 12-27-03.  Broke out window, safe taken.

            -12600 block of Grey Eagle, Germantown, on between 4:15 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on 12-29-03.  Entered home, money and jewelry taken.

 

6th DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -Unit block of W. Diamond Avenue, Gaithersburg, between 7:45 p.m. on 12-27-03 and 9:30 a.m. on 12-28-03.  Attempt only, pried door.
