ARMED ROBBERY

            -On 01-11-04, at 5:39 p.m., a driver for Papa Johns Pizza in Four Corners was the victim of an armed robbery in the 8000 block of Eastern Ave., in Silver Spring.  Two suspects confronted him. The suspects grabbed the victim’s shirt and displayed a handgun. The suspects removed money from the victim, which included the Papa Johns proceeds. The suspects were last seen running on Eastern Drive.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 19, 5’8”, curly hair, khaki pants, sunglasses, red shirt, dark jacket, dark color baseball hat, thin.
            -Suspect #2 – B/M, 20, 6’0”, thin, blue jeans

           -On 01-13-04, at 10:00 a.m., the Flower Valet Dry Cleaners, located at 8511 Piney Branch Rd. in Silver Spring was robbed. A lone suspect (B/M, 30-35, 6’1”, 180-200 lbs., black sweatshirt, black jeans, black boots, black skullcap) entered the store and implied a gun. The victim complied. The suspect took the cash and fled out the store.

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 01-11-04, at 8:15 p.m., a 23-year-old Washington, D.C. man was the victim of a strong-arm robbery inside an elevator at City Place Mall, 8661 Colesville Road, in Silver Spring.  Three black males who were wearing dark clothing began making comments to woman with the victim.  When the victim told them to stop, one of the suspects hit him in the mouth causing him to drop his cell phone. The suspects picked up the phone and left the mall. They were last running towards McDonalds on Colesville Road.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 

            -On 01-13-04, at 6:20 a.m., a 41-year-old Silver Spring man was the victim of an aggravated assault in the 8700 block of Barron St., in Silver Spring.  The suspect approached the victim from behind and struck him with a blunt object. The suspect was described as a male, 6’2”, 225 pounds, wearing dark clothing. 

BURGLARY ARREST 

            -On 01-12-04, Walter Hernandez, age 45, no fixed address, Pablo Romero-Camp, age 23, no fixed address, and Hector Bares, age 23, no fixed address, were arrested and charged with trespassing and 4th degree burglary. The arrests were a result of occupying and stealing from a building in the 300 block of N. Frederick Ave. in Gaithersburg.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -PLAZA CARPET AND RUG CLEANING, 12520 Parklawn Dr., Rockville, between 5:30 p.m. 01-13-04 and 8:35 a.m. on 01-14-04. Pried frame on door, nothing taken. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -10400 block of Dalebrook Lane, Potomac, between 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on 01-14-04.  Pried frame on door, nothing taken.

 

2nd DISTRICT

RESIDENTIAL 

            -8400 block of 16th St. in Silver Spring, between 1:00 p.m. on 12-21-03 and 1:00 p.m. on 01-02-04.  Entered home, computer taken.

 

3RD DISTRICT

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -ACCESSIBLE MRI OF MONTGOMERY CO., 8830 Cameron St., Silver Spring, between 5:30 p.m. on 01-12-04 and 7:00 a.m. on 01-13-04. Entered business, cash, lock box taken. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -500 block of Sligo Ave., Silver Spring, between 4:00 p.m. on 01-12-04 and 1:05 p.m. on 01-13-04. Broke through window, jewelry, computer, camera, and money taken.

            -15900 block of Aitcheson Lane, Burtonsville, between 5:30 p.m. on 12-28-03 and 11:00 a.m. on 01-11-04. Pried open shed, tools taken.

 

5TH DISTRICT

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -19300 block of Hempstone Ave., Poolesville, at 2:50 a.m. on 01-15-04. Attempt only, opened door.

 

6TH DISTRICT

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -BECO MANAGEMENT INC., 19231 Montgomery Village Ave., Gaithersburg, between 4:00 p.m. on 01-09-04 and 9:30 a.m. on 01-12-04. Twisted knob on door, computer, fax machine, printer/scanner, and dry/wet vacuum taken.
