ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 01-20-04, at 10:50 a.m., a 65 year-old Takoma Park woman was the victim of an armed robbery in the 8700 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring.  Two suspects approached her, suspect #1 (B/F, 50-55, 5’6”-5’9”, slim long black hair, long green coat, sunglasses, dark color purse) implied a gun and demanded money. The victim complied. The suspects then left in a late model gray vehicle in the direction of south on Georgia Avenue. Suspect #2 was described as a black male, 60-65, 5’7”-5’9”, black jacket, black hat with brim, and eyeglasses.

ATTEMPT ROBBERY/ARREST 

            -On 01-19-04, at 9:10 p.m., Maxwell Martin McGutherie, age 18, of the 2300 block of Wimbleton Circle in Silver Spring was arrested and charged with attempt robbery and conspiracy. Also arrested was a 17 year-old male juvenile from Silver Spring. He was also charged with attempt robbery and conspiracy. The arrests were a result of an incident at the Montgomery Knolls Elementary School in Silver Spring.

 

BURGLARY ARREST 

            -On 01-14-04, Wendell Theodore Johnson age 42, of the 10800 block of Show Pony Place in Damascus was arrested and charged with First-Degree Burglary and Malicious Destruction of Property. The arrest was a result of an incident in the 19500 block of Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown.  

            -On 01-14-04, Hsing Huo age 23, no fixed address, was arrested and charged with 4th degree burglary, malicious destruction of property, possession of marijuana, possession of CDS paraphernalia, and trespassing. The arrest was a result of an incident in the 1700 block of January Dr. in Silver Spring. 

            -On 01-14-04, the following individuals were arrested and charged with 4th degree burglary, conspiracy to commit 4th degree burglary, and trespassing:            Ricardo A. Montenegro age 43, no fixed address
Jose Vasquez age 30, 2200 block of Reedie Dr. in Wheaton
Ramon Ariana age 30, no fixed address
Cesar N. Desilva age 39, no fixed address
William Castro age 35, no fixed address
Jose Amaya age 29, no fixed address
Rene M. Fuentes age 44, no fixed address
The arrests were a result of an incident in the 2300 block of Blueridge Ave. in Wheaton.

1ST DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -TOWN & COUNTRY CLEANERS, 12316 Wilkins Ave., Rockville, between 6:00 p.m. on 01-13-04 and 6:40 a.m. on 01-14-04. Climbed through window, computer, and vehicle taken.

            -KARP FROSH LAW FIRM, 1370 Piccard Dr., Rockville, between 4:00 p.m. on 01-16-04 and 6:45 a.m. on 01-20-04. Pried open office doors, cash taken.  

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -10600 block of River Rd., Potomac, between 11:00 p.m. and 11:27 p.m. on 01-15-03. Entered side door, nothing taken.

            -4800 block of Esttes Dr., Rockville, between 12:00 a.m. and noon on 01-19-04. Pried open door, nothing taken.

            -12200 block of Triple Crown Rd., N. Potomac, between 8:50 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on 01-20-04. Broke through window, jewelry taken.

            -12800 block of Twinbrook Parkway, Rockville, between 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on 01-07-04. Enter home, computer, digital camera, and video camera taken.

 

2nd DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -EDUCATIONAL DIRECT, 7700 Old Georgetown Rd., Bethesda, between 6:00 p.m. on 01-18-04 and 7:30 a.m. on 01-19-04. Pried lock on door, computers, digital Notebook, bag taken.  

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -9100 block of Friars Rd., Bethesda, between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on 01-20-04. Attempt only, lifted out door.

            -6700 block of Democracy Blvd., Bethesda, between 6:20 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on 01-20-04. Pried lock on door, computers, glasses taken.

 

5TH DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -BOB EVANS RESTAURANT, 21044 Frederick Rd., Germantown, between 4:00 p.m. on 01-14-04 and 4:00 p.m. on 01-21-04. Pried open door, food taken.  

 

6TH DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -400 block of Winter Walk Dr., Gaithersburg, between 12:45 a.m. and 4:15 a.m. on 01-22-04. Opened door, cash taken.
