ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 01-23-04, at 4:00 p.m., a 30 year-old Silver Spring man was the victim of a carjacking in the 1500 block of St. Camillus Drive in Silver Spring.  The victim was driving in the area of Avenel Road and Dilston Road, in Silver Spring, when he stopped and spoke to a female who was walking.  As they were talking, one suspect approached and punched the victim in the face.  Four additional suspects approached and force the victim to drive to St. Camillus Drive. Once there, the victim and suspects began fighting.  The suspects then drove away in the victim’s car, a 1991 Acura Legend.  The first suspect was a Hispanic male, 17-18 years, described as skinny.  The second suspect was a Hispanic female, 15-16 years, with shoulder length hair.  The remaining suspects were described as Hispanic males, and 17-18 years of age.

-On 01-25-04, at 2:00 a.m., two Silver Spring men, ages 25 and 20, were victims of an armed robbery in the 500 block of Southampton Dr., in Silver Spring.  Several suspects got out of a Toyota, approached the victims, displayed knives, and demanded money.  The victims complied.  The first suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 18-22 years, 5’7” to 5’9”, 140 to 150 pounds, wearing a white shirt.  No descriptions were provided for the remaining suspects. 

            -On 01-23-04, at 9:23 p.m., the CVS Pharmacy, located at 10141 Colesville Rd. in Four Corners was robbed. Two suspects entered the store, displayed handguns, and demanded money. The suspects left the store in an unknown direction.  The first suspect was a black male, 17-25 years, 5’8” to 5’9”, wearing a black sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.  The second suspect was a black male, 17-25 years, 6’0” to 6’2”, wearing black pants.

           

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 01-25-04, at 10:00 p.m., a 38-year-old Germantown man was the victim of a strong-arm robbery in the 19900 block of Frederick Road in Germantown.  Four suspects approached the victim and punched him.  The suspects removed property from the victim.  The suspects were described as black males, 16-20 years, 5’8” to 6’0”, 150-180 pounds, wearing dark clothing. The suspects ran on foot towards Appledowre Way and Brandermill Drive. 

          -On 01-22-04, at 7:20 p.m., a 42-year-old Silver Spring man was the victim of a strong-arm robbery in the 8600 block of Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring.  Four suspects approached the victim.  One suspect grabbed the victim while another suspect removed property from him.  The remaining suspects stood by.  The suspects then got into a red car and were last seen driving towards Arliss Street.  The first two suspects were described as black male, 6’2”, 170 pounds, wearing dark clothing.  No descriptions were provided for the remaining suspects.

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY ARREST 

          -On 01-28-04, at 7:28 p.m., Stephen Kiah, age 27, of the 200 block of Marsh Hollow Way in Rockville, was arrested and charged with Robbery, Attempt Theft Under $500, Second-Degree Assault, and Resisting Arrest.  The arrest was the result of an incident in the 700 block of Russell Ave., in Gaithersburg.  ***Previous release written on this incident.***

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 

          -On 01-27-04, at 7:42 p.m., a 25-year-old man and woman from Gaithersburg were victims of an aggravated assault in the 9000 block of Centerway Road in Gaithersburg.  The victims were driving their car on Centerway Road and Goshen Road when the suspect’s truck almost hit them. The suspect then began following the victims.  When they stopped, the suspect got out and began yelling at them.  The suspect then displayed a handgun.  When one of the victims stated they were calling the police, the suspect drove away in a black Ford Explorer.  The suspect was a black male, 25-35 years, 5’10” to 6’0”, 150 pounds, wearing a dark-colored shirt, and blue jeans.

 

BURGLARY ARREST 

         -On 01-24-04, at 1:35 a.m., Frederick Huffins, age 39, of the 13800 block of Castle Blvd. in Briggs Chaney, and Derrick Sewer, age 35, of the 9700 block of Goodluck Rd., in Lanham, were arrested.  Huffins was charged with Second-Degree Burglary, Destruction of Property, Attempt Theft Under $500, and Possession of Marijuana.  Sewer was charged with Second-Degree Burglary, Destruction of Property, and Attempt Theft Over $500.  The arrests were the result of an incident in the 400 block of Silver Spring Ave. in Silver Spring.

RESIDENTIAL 

          -10900 block of Stone Cutter Pl., Potomac, between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on 01-26-04.  Pried frame on window, jewelry and money taken.

 

2nd DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL 

          -3000 block of Dennis Ave., Kensington, between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on 01-26-04.  Entered home, purse and money taken.

 

3RD DISTRICT 

 COMMERCIAL 

         -TELETRONIC, 13886 Old Columbia Pike, Silver Spring, between 2:41 a.m. and 2:50 a.m. on 01-27-04.  Pried open door, unknown what was taken.

         -AIS ENGINEERING, INC., 801 Roeder Rd., Silver Spring, between 6:30 p.m. on 01-20-04 and 4:00 a.m. on 01-21-04.  Pried lock on door, computer equipment taken.

         -FALKLAND CHASE APARTMENT & HOMES, 8305 16th St., Silver Spring, between 11:00 p.m. on 01-19-04 and 8:45 a.m. on 01-20-04.  Pried door, unknown what was taken.

         -CHAPALA’S RESTAURANT, 15530 Old Columbia Pike, Burtonsville, between 8:46 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. on 01-23-04.  Forced open door, money taken.

         -BATES CREATIVE GROUP, 8757 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring, between 4:30 p.m. on 01-26-04 and 3:54 a.m. on 01-27-04.  Entered office, computer taken.

         -NATIONAL FOUNDATION FOR CREDIT COUNSELING, 801 Roeder Rd., Silver Spring, between 6:30 p.m. on 01-20-04 and 7:00 a.m. on 01-21-04.  Pried lock on door, computer equipment taken.

        -INSURANCE TECHNOLOGICS AND PROGRAMS, 8737 Colesville Rd., Silver Spring, between 5:10 p.m. on 01-20-04 and 9:05 a.m. on 01-21-04.  Pried open door, unknown what was taken. 

RESIDENTIAL 

        -500 block of Easley St., Silver Spring, at 1:20 p.m. on 01-22-04.  Pried open door, unknown what was taken.

        -11500 block of Stewart Lane, White Oak, between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on 01-24-04. Entered home, television equipment and compact discs taken.

       -800 block of Caddington Ave., Silver Spring, at 9:00 a.m. on 01-22-04.  Attempt only, broke out a window pane.

       -9100 block of Piney Branch Rd., Silver Spring, between 11:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. on 01-22-04.  Pried open window, television equipment, DVD player and movies taken.

       -13700 block of Colgate Way, Burtonsville, between unknown date and time, reported at 3:53 p.m. on 01-22-04.  Pried open door, jewelry, DVD player and movies taken.

       -11200 block of Lockwood Dr., White Oak, between 01-08-04 and 01-09-04, the times are unknown.  Entered home, dishes taken.

 

5TH DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL  

       -FOUR SEASONS SALON AND SPA, 13417 Kingsview Village Ave., Germantown, between 8:30 p.m. on 01-23-04 and 8:25 a.m. on 01-24-04.  Pried open door, jewelry and money taken. 

RESIDENTIAL 

       -13100 block of Briarcliff Terr., Germantown, between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on 01-24-04.  Entered home, jewelry taken.

 

6TH DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

       -18700 block of Walkers Choice Rd., Gaithersburg, between 9:00 p.m. on 01-14-04 and 8:30 a.m. on 01-27-04.  Broke through door, musical equipment, bicycle, and food taken.

       -400 block of Winter Walk Dr., Gaithersburg, between 12:45 a.m. and 4:14 p.m. on 01-22-04.  Entered home, money taken.
