ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 01-26-04, at 7:10 p.m., two Rockville men, ages 21 and 18, were in a parking lot in the 13600 block of Connecticut Ave. in Silver Spring, when they were approached by 3 suspects. Suspect #1 (B/M, 20s, 5’9”, 170 lbs., dark skin, khaki fleece, tan pants, white/black scarf, Timberland boots) displayed a black gun and told one of the victims to empty his pockets. They took cash and a cell phone from the victims. The suspects fled on foot.
            -Suspect #2 (B/M, 20s, 5’11”, 220 lbs., buzzed hair, black nylon ski jacket, stonewash jeans, Timberland boots.
            -Suspect #3 (B/M, 20s, 6’3”, 160 lbs., tan pants, cream nylon hooded jacket, Timberland boots.

           -On 02-02-04, at 11:00 a.m., a 30-year-old Wheaton woman, her husband and daughter left their apartment in the 11500 block of Amherst Ave. in Wheaton and entered their vehicle. Two suspects approached the vehicle from either side. One of the suspects opened the driver’s door.  The other suspect demanded the wife’s purse. The victim complied giving up a large sum of cash. One of the suspects implied a weapon. Both suspects fled on foot westbound on Blueridge Avenue.
     -Suspects #1 and #2 – Hispanic/M, 25-30 years-old, 5’7”-5’11”, 180 lbs., dark green jacket, dark pants, wearing knit caps. 

-On 02-02-04, at 5:15 a.m., a 51-year-old Wheaton woman was walking in the area of Livingston St. at Flack St. when she was approached from behind by an unknown suspect. The suspect (B/M, 20s, 6’2”-6’3”, slim, gray hooded sweatshirt with hood over head, possible navy blue jacket over top of sweatshirt, dark pants) stated he was armed and grabbed a purse from the victim. The suspect fled on foot westbound on Livingston St. towards Terrapin Rd. and then south on Terrapin. No weapon was seen, but cash was taken.

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 02-01-04, at 5:00 a.m., a 38-year-old Silver Spring woman was in a parking lot in the 11700 block of Old Columbia Pike when she was approached from behind by 2 suspects. The suspects (B/M, 30-35, 5’9”, 175-190 lbs., dark shirt and jeans) hit the victim with their fists and tried to take her purse. A struggle ensued and she gave up no property. She punched one of the suspects in the face. The suspects finally ran off in an unknown direction. The victim was transported to the local hospital with minor injuries. 

            -On 01-22-04, at 10:00 a.m., a 15-year-old Olney youth and a friend were walking in the area of Layhill Road and Briggs Road when they were approached by 6 to 8 subjects. One of the  subjects grabbed the victim’s hat and a struggle ensued. The victim was knocked to the ground by two of the subjects and they took his cell phone. The victim described Suspect #1 as a B/M, 17-19 years-old, 6’2”.  Suspect #2 was described as a B/M, 17-19 years-old, wearing a red coat.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT/ARREST 

            -On 01-28-04, a 16-year-old male juvenile, was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Assault and Carrying a Concealed Dangerous Weapon. The arrest was a result of a pellet gun incident in the 1200 block of East West Highway in Silver Spring on the same day.  

            -On 01-31-04, Prince Maurice Cassagnol, age 37, no fixed address, was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Assault and Reckless Endangerment. The arrest was a result of a stabbing with a pen at a homeless shelter in the 8200 block of Colonial Lane in Silver Spring. The defendant for some unknown reason stabbed another person.
