DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The 2^nd District is comprised of four traditional day/evening patrol shifts, along with two midnight shifts.  Additionally, the station is fortunate enough to have a unit comprised of nine bicycle officers who work in the Central Business District in Bethesda. 

These officers are responsible for handling day-to-day calls for service, traffic enforcement, follow-up investigations, and working on community issues.  These are just some examples. 

The officers are always striving to fulfill our Department’s goals, which are: 

·                     Reduce crime and the fear of crime in Montgomery County.

·                     Enhance traffic and pedestrian safety in Montgomery County.

·                     Enhance the Department’s external relationships.

·                     Develop a more highly skilled, diverse and dedicated workforce.

·                     Provide the best available resources for our employees.
