RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

June 28, 2005

 

RAPE 

            -On 06-21-05, an 18 year-old Montgomery Village woman reported that she had been raped by an acquaintance on 06-18-05 in a hotel room at an Inn on Shady Grove Way in Rockville.  The suspect’s identity is known and the investigation is continuing.

 

RAPE ARREST 

            -On 06-20-06, Benjamin Mack Webb, age 46, of the 500 block of Pickwick Village Way in Silver Spring, was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Rape, 1st Degree Sex Offense, and 1st Degree Burglary. The arrest was a result of an incident the previous day in Silver Spring.

 

HOME INVASION ROBBERY 

            -On 06-20-05 at 9:40 p.m., a 23-year-old male resident answered a knock on the door of his residence in the 10400 block of Leslie Court in the Carroll Knolls area of Silver Spring and encountered two suspects.  The suspects entered the residence, demanded money, and displayed a handgun.  The suspect fled after obtaining an undisclosed amount of money.

  • Suspect # 1 - B/M, 19-20 years-old, 6’01”, 185 lbs., wearing a white shirt, black pants and a black cap.
  • Suspect #2 - B/M, 21-25 years-old, 5’10”, 190 lbs., with a shaved head and goatee, wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.

 

ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 06-21-05 at 3:40 a.m., a suspect entered the CVS store at 546 N. Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg, displayed a handgun, and demanded Oxycontin. The suspect fled after obtaining two bottles of Oxycodone.  The suspect was described as a W/M, 30’s, 5’11”, 190 lbs., wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans, and a white ball cap. 

            -On 06-21-05 at midnight, a 25-year-old Gaithersburg man was approached by two suspects in the 700 block of West Side Drive in Gaithersburg.   The suspects displayed a knife and demanded money.  The victim ran and the suspects fled without obtaining anything.

  • Suspect # 1 - B/M, 14-19 years-old, 5’06”, 160 lbs, wearing blue jeans, and a black sweatshirt.
  • Suspect #2 - B/M, 14-19 years-old, 5’07”, 190 lbs., wearing blue jeans and a black shirt.

            -On 06-21-05, at 9:40 p.m., the Gourmet Beer and Wine store, located at 11510 E Rockville Pike was robbed. Three suspects entered the store and Suspect #1 displayed a knife and demanded money. The victim complied and the suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and beer.  The suspects were last seen running towards Marinelli Road.

  • Suspect #1 – Hispanic/M, 20-30, 5’8”, 165 lbs., mustache, brown leather jacket, blue jeans.
  • Suspect #2 – Hispanic/M, 15-30, 5’5”-5’6”, very short hair, gray shirt.
  • Suspect #3 – Hispanic/M, 15-30, no further description.

 

ATTEMPT ARMED ROBBERY ARREST 

            -On 06-20-05, at 9:44 p.m., Dominic Lamar Hill, 18, of the 3100 block of Hewitt Ave. in Wheaton, was arrested and charged with Attempted Armed Robbery and Carrying a Concealed Dangerous and Deadly Weapon. The arrest was a result of an incident that day at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 2207 Bel Pre Rd. in Silver Spring.

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 06-18-05 at 9:40 a.m., an 87-year-old Germantown woman was in the13100 block of Millhaven Place in Germantown, when she was approached by two suspects.  The suspects blocked her, the Suspect #2 knocked her down.  One of the suspects then took her wallet, and then both suspects fled on foot.

  • Suspect #1 – B/M, 20-25 years-old, 6’00”-6’02”, bald, thin build.
  • Suspect #2 - B/M, 20-25 years-old, 5’06”-5’09”.

            -On 06-18-05, at 11:30 p.m., a 49-year-old Germantown man was walking in the area of Frederick Road and Gunners Branch Road in Germantown when three suspects approached him. One suspect struck the victim in face.  They took cash from the victim and fled the scene on foot.  The victim was treated at a local hospital for a minor injury.  The suspects were described only as black males. 

            -On 06-21-05, at 11:10 p.m., a 27-year-old Germanton man was walking into the 7-11 store at 13501 Clopper Rd. in Germantown, when two suspects assaulted him.  A fight ensued during which the two suspects received stab wounds.  Both suspects were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.  The victim did not sustain any injuries, and subsequent investigation determined that the suspects were stabbed by the victim in self defense. 

            -On 06-22-05, at 1:35 a.m., a 35 year-old Silver Spring man was walking on University Blvd. W. near Dennis Ave. when he was approached from behind by 2 suspects. They demanded his wallet and the victim complied. The suspects got into a vehicle that was parked nearby and drove away.

  • Suspect #1 – B/M, 20-25, 5’10”-5’11”, 160-180 lbs., grey sweat pants.
  • Suspect #2 – B/M, 20-25, 6’1”-6’2”, white T-shirt.

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY ARRESTS 

            -On 06-17-05, three people were arrested as the result of an incident on the sidewalk outside of the Silver Spring Metro Station.  Christopher Stephen Richardson, 18, of the 2300 block of Hartford Street, SE in Washington D.C. was charged with Robbery and two counts of 2nd Degree Assault;  Glenn Orlando Green, 18, of the 2300 block of Ainger Place, SE, in Washington D.C., was charged with Robbery and 2nd Degree Assault; and a 16 year-old Washington, D.C. male was charged with Robbery.  

 

 INDECENT EXPOSURE 

            -On 06-18-05, at 7:05 p.m., a 24 year-old Bethesda woman reported that she observed a man exposing himself in the Bethesda/Elm St. Parking garage- 4th level. When she returned to the scene with a male accompaniment, the suspect was gone.

  • Suspect #1 – Hispanic/M, 25-30, 5’8”, 140-150 lbs., thin blue jeans, blue T-shirt, white tennis shoes.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 

            -On 06-18-05, at 10:30 p.m., a 52 year-old Silver Spring man was standing outside a residence in the 2400 block of Ross Rd. in Silver Spring, when two suspects threw several bottles at him.  The victim ran away and was later treated at a local hospital for a minor injury.  The suspects and the victim were attending a small party there.  There is  no description of the second suspect.

  • Suspect #1 – Hispanic/M, 30s, 5’8”, 180-190- lbs., long sleeve white shirt, blue baseball hat.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT ARREST 

            -On 06-18-05, a 57-year-old male, with no fixed address, was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Assault and Second Degree Assault.  The arrest was the result of a domestic incident in Derwood the same day.

 

BURGLARY ARREST 

            -On 06-17-05, Brent Caldwell Campbell, 24, of the 100 block of Watkins Mill Road in Gaithersburg, was arrested and charged with 3rd Degree Burglary, Possession of CDS, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia, and Trespassing.  The arrest was a result of an incident that had just occurred in the 18500 block of Boysenberry Drive in Gaithersburg.

 

CDS/ WEAPONS ARREST 

            -On 06-16-05, four people were arrested after an incident in the 14100 block of Weeping Willow Dr. in Sliver Spring.  Teon Robert Williams, 20, of the 12700 block of Epping Terrace in Silver Spring, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Handgun and Possession of a handgun under 21.  David Earl Cooper Jr., 19, of the 7400 block of Brenish Dr. in Gaithersburg, was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Crack Cocaine.  Stephen William Kelley, 19, of the 7200 block of Cypress Hill Dr. in Gaithersburg, was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Crack Cocaine and Possession of Crack Cocaine.  A 17-year-old male, of Gaithersburg, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Deadly Weapon.
