RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

January 5, 2006

 

ROBBERY 

            -On 12-26-05, at 11:00 p.m., two 13-year-old males from Germantown were robbed of their property. The incident occurred when the victims were at the bus stop at Aircraft Drive and Century Blvd. in Germantown. No weapon was displayed.
         -Suspect #1: B/M, 14 to 16, 5’10” to 5’11”, 140 to 150 lbs., all dark clothing.
         -Suspect #2: B/M, 14 to16, 5’10” to 5’11”, 140 to 150 lbs., all dark clothing. 

            -On 12-26-05, at 7:00 p.m., a 16-year-old male from Silver Spring was struck from behind with a hard object and robbed of his property in the area of Piney Branch Road and Carroll Avenue in Silver Spring. The suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction. No description of the suspect is available. 

            -On 12-27-05, at 6:24 p.m., a 27-year-old male from Gaithersburg was robbed of his property while in the 9900 block of Ridgeline Drive. in Gaithersburg. He was approached from behind by three suspects.  No weapon was displayed. The suspects fled on foot in the direction of Brassie Place.
     -Suspect #1, #2, & #3: B/M’s 16 to 20, 6’00”, medium builds, black jackets.       

            -On 12-21-05, at 8:50 p.m., a 23-year-old male from Germantown was robbed by two suspects while in his car. The incident occurred while the victim was stopped on Buttry Lane at W. Deer Park Road in Gaithersburg. Suspect #1 produced a handgun and removed the victim’s wallet. The suspects then fled on foot toward the dead-end of Buttry Lane.
       -Suspect #1: B/M, 18, 5’06”, 140 lbs., black hair, black sweater and black jeans.
       -Suspect #2: B/m, 15, 5’04”, 140 lbs., black hair, black jacket, gray jeans, gray hat. 

            -On 12-17-05, at 11:00 p.m., two males from Germantown, a 14 and 15-years-old, were robbed after being approached from behind by four suspects near the intersection of Frederick Road and Middlebrook Road in Germantown. The tallest of the suspects displayed a gun and took the jacket from one of the victims. The suspects then left the scene on foot.
        -Suspects: All 4 were teenaged black males dressed in all black with black ski    masks and hoods over their faces.           

            -On 12-24-05, at 2:00 a.m., a 35-year-old male from Silver Spring was robbed by two suspects while leaving a restaurant in the 8700 block of Flower Avenue in Silver Spring. The suspects got into the victim’s vehicle with the victim inside and drove him around the Silver Spring area for 45 minutes. They displayed a gun and took cash from the victim. The suspects then fled the scene on foot after telling the victim to get out in the area of 14th Avenue.
       -Suspect #1: B/M, 24 to 28, 6’00”, 150 lbs., long braided black hair, black jacket and sweatshirt, gray sweatpants.
       -Suspect #2: B/M, 30 to 35, 5’09”, short black hair, blue jacket. 

            -On 12-25-05, at 4:05 p.m., a 38-year-old male from Kensington was robbed while driving in his taxicab. He picked up two suspects at the Grosvenor Metro Station and took both suspects to an apartment in the 900 block of Clopper Road in Gaithersburg. Suspect #1 displayed a gun and demanded money. The victim complied. The suspects then fled on foot on Clopper Road.
        -Suspect #1: B/M, 18 to 20, 5’04” to 5’06”, bald, camouflage jacket.
        -Suspect #2: B/M, 22 to 25, 5’09” to 5’10”, black shirt. 

             -On 12-25-05, at 6:52 p.m., the Chevron Gas Mart, located at 18701 Liberty Mill Rd. in Germantown, was robbed. A lone suspect entered the store, implied a gun, and announced a robbery. The victim handed over cash from the cash box and from the register. The suspect fled on foot from the scene towards Dawson Farm.
       -Suspect: B/M, 5’11” to 6’0”, light brown skin tone, medium build, bald, blue jeans, gray hooded shirt, black hat. 

 

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY 

            -On 12-25-05, at 3:21 p.m., a 49-year-old man from Wheaton was approached by two suspects in a parking lot in the 7700 block of Old Georgetown Rd. in Bethesda. The suspects  displayed a gun and when the victim used his cell phone the suspects fled up Fairmont Avenue.
         -Suspect #1: B/M, 14, 5’06” to 5’09”, black ski cap and black pullover sweater.
         -Suspect #2: B/M, 18, 5’09” to 5’11”, Black workout suit. 

            -On 12-28-05, at 2:30 a.m., a 25-year-old male from Poolesville found two suspects breaking into his car. The incident occurred in the 17300 block of Chiswell Rd, in Poolesville. After confronting them, the suspect fled by car.
         -Suspect #1: W/M, 20, 6’03”, 215 lbs., Short black hair.
         -Suspect #2: B/M, 6’02”, black hooded sweatshirt. 

 

ROBBERY ARREST 

            -On 12-26-05, at 9:00 p.m., 4th District officers responded to the bus stop at Viers Mill Road and University Boulevard in Wheaton for an attempted robbery of two men which had just occurred.  Juan Campos, age 25, of the 11900 block of Dalewood Dr. in Silver Spring, and Elvis Arsides Martinez Prudencio, age 21, no fixed address, were charged with Attempted Armed Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, Second Degree Assault, and Possession of a Deadly Weapon. 

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT ARRESTS 

            -On 12-20-05, at 9:45 p.m., Marlon George Jackson, age 27, of the 93100 block of Broadwater Dr. in Montgomery Village, was arrested for aggravated assault, and possession of illegal drugs. The arrest was a result of an incident at that location involving the defendant and two others. 

            -On 12-27-05, at 4:23 a.m., Asling Defrietas, age 27,from Brooklyn, New York, was arrested and charged with attempted 1st Degree Assault and 2nd Degree Assault. The arrest was a result of a domestic assault that had just occurred on Brenish Drive in Gaithersburg. 

            -On 12-25-05, at 4:25 a.m., Ivan Omar Figueroa, age 31, of the 100 block of Lee Avenue in Takoma Park, was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, and Destruction of Property. The arrest was a result of an assault that had just occurred in the13100 block of Bluhill Road in Silver Spring.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULTS 

            -On 12-22-05, at 1:45 p.m., a Giant Foods Grocery Store at 13400 New Hampshire Ave. in Silver Spring was the scene of an attempted shoplifting. A female suspect was observed trying to flee with merchandise. Two store employees tried to stop her, but were not successful because the suspect assaulted one of the employees.
            -Suspect – W/F, 5’6”, 145 lbs., long hair, blue jeans, blue sweater. 

            -On 12-28-05, at approximately 5:10 p.m., a cashier at the Aspen Hill Shell Station, located at 4001 Aspen Hill Road in Silver Spring, was the victim of a male suspect’s anger. The suspect came in to prepay for gas and the clerk asked for some form of identification. The suspect became angry and knocked things over and pointed a gun at the victim.  When the victim ducked behind the counter, the suspect fled in a unknown direction.
            -Suspect – B/M, 30 to 40, 6’0” to 6’2”, 185 to 200 lbs., black sweatshirt, black gloves, blue jeans. 

            -On 12-26-05, at 6:40 p.m., two female customers at the Galaxy Billards at 8661 Colesville Road in Silver Spring, became unruly. When one of the employees tried to escort the suspects out of the building, Suspect #1 displayed a knife and waved it around wildly. A third suspect joined the disturbance. All three suspects then fled the business on foot, heading toward Georgia Avenue.
            -Suspect #1 – B/F, 12 to15, 5’0”, 90 to 100 lbs., medium-length braided hair, camouflage pattern winter coat with fur collar, jeans with wide belt.
            -Suspect #2 – B/F, 13 to 16, 5’5”, 120 to 140 lbs., ponytail hair, black winter coat with hood, jeans.
            -Suspect #3 – B/F, no further description. 

            -On 12-25-05, at 2:10 a.m., a 30 year-old Silver Spring man was in the area of Piney Branch Rd. and Silver Spring Ave. in Silver Spring, when he was attacked by two Hispanic suspects who were wielding bats. The victim was not able to provide a description of the suspects.

 

BURGLARY ARRESTS 

            -On 12-25-05, at 4:05 a.m., E. Lloyd, age 29, of New York City, New York, was arrested and charged with Burglary and Destruction of Property under $500. The arrest was a result of an incident that had just occurred at a home on St. Peter Ct. in Germantown. 

            -On 12-28-05, at 7:35 p.m., Robert Edward Johnson Jr., age 27, of the 18300 block of Timko Lane in Germantown, was arrested and charged with First-degree Burglary, Theft over $500, and Trespassing. The arrest was a result of a burglary attempt on Timko Lane in Germantown that had just occurred. 

            -On 10-15-05, at 1:01 a.m., Gustavo Carlos Balcazar Jr., age 23, of the 500 block of East University Boulevard in Silver Spring, was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Burglary. The arrest was a result of a burglary that had just occurred in the 3500 block of Harrell Street in Silver Spring. 

            -On 12-19-05, at 2:30 p.m., an 11-year-old male from Silver Spring was arrested and charged with four counts of 1st Degree Burglary. The arrest was a result of a burglary that had just occurred in the Glenmont area of Wheaton and three other burglaries at the same address that occurred in the past.

            -11500 block of Ridge Mist Terrace in Rockville, between 11:30 a.m. on 12-24-05 and 9:30 p.m. on 12-26-05. Forced entry, property taken.

            -EB GAMES, 11301 Rockville Pike in North Bethesda, between 7:45 p.m. on 12-24-05 and 8:00 a.m. on 12-26-05. Forced entry, property taken.
