RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

January 10, 2005

 

ATTEMPT STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 12-31-04, at 8:20 p.m., a 39-year-old Rockville woman was walking in the 200 block of Poplar Spring Rd. in Rockville when she was approached by a suspect. The suspect (B/M, 40-45, 6’3”, 280-290 lbs., mustache, navy-blue sweat suit with hood and white logo, thick eyebrows, white tennis shoes, dark skin) demanded her pocketbook. The victim screamed for help and threw a bag of groceries at the suspect. The suspect stepped back and fled on-foot south on Grand Champion Drive. No property was obtained.

 

CARJACKING 

            -On 12-23-04, at 10:34 p.m., two Hispanic males were leaving Lakeforest Mall in Montgomery Village in their 1997 Nissan Altima when they were sideswiped by a white Honda SUV which was occupied by 6 males, some black and some Hispanic. The victims then followed the suspects to the Shadow Oak neighborhood where a black Ford mustang with 3 other black male suspects pulled up and blocked the victim’s car. The victims got out of their car and were immediately attacked by all the suspects. A knife was seen. One victim sustained a broken jaw. The victim’s car was then taken by the suspects. The victims ran and called 911. The victims were admitted to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.             
            Suspect #1 – B/M, 20-21, 6’5”, skinny, mustache and long sideburns, red shirt, black jacket, black head wrap, blue jean pants.
            Suspect #2 – Hispanic/M, 19-20, 5’0”, fat, 190 lbs., short black hair, slight mustache, white shirt, black jacket, blue jeans.  

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 

            -On 01-04-05, at 7:06 p.m., a 17-year-old Silver Spring male teen and a 15-year-old male met at a bus stop and walked to the McDonalds in the 19200 block of Montgomery Village Avenue. They were followed by 4-5 black male suspects. An argument ensued and one of the victims was hit by a chair thrown by one of the suspects.

 

INDECENT EXPOSURE 

            -On 01-01-05, at 9:20 a.m., Andre Thomas Ware, age 47, of the 7400 block of Westlake Terrace in Bethesda was arrested and charged with indecent exposure and disorderly conduct. The arrest was a result of an incident at Montgomery Mall where the defendant was seen exposing himself.

 

4TH DEGREE SEX OFFENSE 

            -On 01-04-05, at 10:00 p.m., a 16-year-old Silver Spring female was offered a ride by a co-worker. At the parking garage at Ellsworth Dr. and Wayne Ave., the suspect (Hispanic/M, 25, 5’10”, 180 lbs., T-shirt, blue jeans) tried repeatedly to kiss the victim, and then touched her inappropriately. The suspect is known, investigation is continuing.

 

BURGLARY ARREST 

            On 01-04-05 a 17- year-old male juvenile from Silver Spring, was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Burglary, 4th Degree Burglary and Attempt Theft over $500.00.  The arrest was the result of an incident that occurred on 01-04-05 in the 9300 block of Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring. 

            -On 01-04-05, Richard Carrot Adrien, age 19, of Montreal, Canada, Brendon Anthony Gray-Smith, age 19, of Silver Spring, Daniyom Fessiha Tesaye, age 19, of Burtonsville, and Rodney Rusan Wilson, age 19, of Atlanta, Ga., were arrested and charged with 4th Degree Burglary and Possession of CDS, Marijuana and Paraphernalia.  The arrests were a result of an incident on Blair Mill Rd. in Silver Spring that had just occurred.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -FOX CONSTRUCTION, LLC, 10715 Alloway Dr. in Potomac, between 4:30 p.m. on 12-29-04 and 7:00 a.m. on 12-30-04. Pried lock on trailer door, construction tools taken.
            -GREENTREE HOMES, 10909 Macarthur Blvd. in Potomac, between 6:00 p.m. on 12-29-04 and 6:15 a.m. on 12-30-04. Broke window of trailer, computer and docking station taken.
            -TRIBLE’S, INC., 850 E. Gude Dr. in Rockville, between 1:02 a.m. and 1:13 a.m. on 01-03-05. Broke door, cash taken. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -9200 block of Falls River Dr. in Potomac, at 10:20 p.m. on 01-04-05. Broke door, nothing taken.
            -9900 block of Chapel Rd. in Potomac, at 6:44 p.m. on 12-31-04. Forced door, nothing taken.
            -10200 block of Norton Rd. in Potomac, between 4:15 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on 12-31-04. Pried door, jewelry and clothing taken.

 

2ND DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -B.D.’S MONGOLIAN BBQ, 7201 Wisconsin Ave. in Bethesda, between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on 12-31-04. Reached through door, alcoholic beverages taken.
 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -6700 block of Melville Place in Chevy Chase, at 2:15 p.m. on 01-03-05. Pried sliding glass door, bag taken.
            -11400 block of Connecticut Ave. in Kensington, between 2:00 p.m. on 12-21-04 and 12:20 a.m. on 12-22-04. Front door entry, computer and accessories taken

 

3RD DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

-900 block of Venice Dr. in Silver Spring, between 3:00 p.m. on 12-25-04 and 2:01 p.m. on 01-01-05. Cut screen door, nothing taken.
            -12000 block of New Hampshire Ave. in Silver Spring, between 9:00 a.m. on 12-23-04 and 5:04 p.m. on 12-30-04. Unknown entry, lawn equipment taken.

 

3rd DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -10600 block of Lockridge Drive in the Northwood Park View area of Silver Spring, between noon on 12-30-04 and 4:43 p.m. on 01-01-05.  Entered unlocked window, took cash.
            -11500 block of February Circle in the White Oak area of Silver Spring, at 5:25 a.m. on 12-30-04.  Forced door, attempt only.
            -500 block of Southampton Drive in the Northwest Park area of Silver Spring, between 4:00 p.m. on 12-28-04 and 5:00 p.m. on 12-29-04.  Unknown method of entry, took suitcases, clothing, TV, Bicycle, tools and cordless phone.
            -11500 block of Lockwood Drive in the White Oak area of Silver Spring, between unknown date and time and 6:00 p.m. on 12-30-04.  Removed window screen, attempt only.
            -8900 block of 1st Avenue in the Woodside area of Silver Spring, between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on 01-02-05.  Entered unlocked door, took vehicle, purse and cash.  Vehicle has been recovered.

 

4th DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -3500 block of Pear Tree Court in the Bel Pre are of Silver Spring, on 12-22-04 at 7:30 a.m., denied entry, forced way into residence.  Suspect’s identity is known and investigation continues.   

 

6th DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -BEVERY ORNBERG, 8929 Shady Grove Court in Gaithersburg, between 2:00 p.m. on 12-31-04 and 7:00 a.m. on 01-03-05.  Kicked in front door, digital copier taken.
            -EDWARD JONES, 19110 Montgomery Village Avenue, Suite 310 in Montgomery Village, on 01-02-05 at 10:22 p.m.  Kicked glass in exterior door, took computer.
            -DESIGN SERVICES GROUP LLC., 19110 Montgomery Village Avenue, Suite 350 in Montgomery Village, on 01-02-05 at 10:22 p.m.   Kicked door, attempt only.
            -KING CHIROPRACTIC, 19392A Montgomery Village Avenue in Montgomery Village, on 01-02-05 at 9:38 p.m.  Broke glass door, took keyboard.
            -HUDSON TRAIL OUTFITTERS, LTD., 401B N. Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg, between 7:00 p.m. on 014-01-05 and 7:42 a.m. on 01-02-05.  Broke glass door, took clothing.
            -PHOENIX HOME MORTGAGE, 19516 Club House Road in Montgomery Village, on 12-31-04 at 10:43 p.m.   Unknown point of entry, stacked computer equipment to take, nothing taken.
            -RONALD’S MUFFLERS, 7615 F Rickenbacker Drive in Gaithersburg, between 2:00 p.m. on 12-30-04 and 1:00 p.m. on 01-02-05.   Pried molding/frame of front door, took cash and change.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
 
           -100 block of Duvall Lane in Gaithersburg, between 7:30 p.m. and 9:25 p.m. on 12-31-04. Broke window, jewelry and cameras taken.
            -500 block of S. Frederick Rd. in Gaithersburg, between 8:45 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on 01-01-05. Broke window, nothing taken.
            -17200 block of King James Way in Gaithersburg, between 6:30 p.m. and 7:14 p.m. on 01-02-05. Broke window, nothing taken.
            -17100 block of King James Way in Gaithersburg, between 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on 01-01-05. Broke sliding glass door, nothing taken.
            -Unit block of Fulks Corner Ave. in Gaithersburg, between 11:30 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. on 12-02-04. Front door entry, nothing taken.
