RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

January 18, 2006 

ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 01-09-06, at 8:40 p.m., Ledo’s Pizza, located at 1319 Rockville Pike in Rockville was robbed. A lone suspect entered the store, displayed a gun and demanded cash. The suspect leaned over and took cash. The suspect then fled on foot south on Rockville Pike.
            -Suspect #1 - W/M, 18-20, 5’7”-5’10”, 140-150 lbs., grey hoodie, grey pants, black mask.  

            -On 01-12-06, at 2:40 a.m., a 26-year-old Rockville man was retrieving something from a vehicle in the 4800 block of Red Fox Run in Rockville when he was approached by two suspects. They displayed handguns and demanded the victim’s car keys. The victim complied and the suspects left in the vehicle onto Boiling Brook Pkwy. up to Nicholson Lane.
            -Both suspects – Hispanic/M, 18-23, 5’6”-5’8”, black puffy jackets.  

            -On 01-10-06, at 9:40 p.m., a 42-year-old Germantown man was walking in the parking lot of the Pizza Hut located in the 19700 block of Crystal Rock Dr. in Germantown when two suspects approached and began to punch the victim. They demanded the victim’s wallet and fled on foot in an unknown direction.
            -Suspect #1 – W/M, 15-17, 5’8”-5’9”, 150-160 lbs., black winter jacket, black jeans.
            -Suspect #2 – B/M, 15-17, 5’8”-5’9”, 150-160 lbs., bald, black hooded jacket, black jeans.

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 01-06-06, at 9:40 p.m., a 55-year-old Silver Spring woman was walking north on Alton Parkway in Silver Spring near the 9000 block when she was approached by 2 suspects. They knocked her to the ground and took her purse. They left the scene in an older model box style 4-door vehicle.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 15-20, black coat.  

            -On 01-01-06, at 6:18 a.m., a 35-year-old Rockville man was on his way to the bus stop when he was approached by a suspect at the intersection of Harvard St. and Veirs Mill Road. in Wheaton. The suspect wanted to sell some marijuana. The victim refused and the suspect demanded money. The suspect then fled on foot eastbound on Harvard Street.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 25-35, 5’7”, 150-175 lbs., blue and white jacket, blue jeans.  

            -On 12-30-05, at 12:11 a.m., Three Rockville men were assaulted and robbed by three unidentified Hispanic males in the area of the 12000 block of Georgia Ave. in Wheaton. Victim #1 and #2 had currency stolen from them. No description was given for the suspects.           

            -On 11-28-05, at 9:13 p.m., a 32 year-old Silver Spring man was walking for the bus stop in front of the 3600 block of Pear Tree Ct. on Connecticut Ave. in Silver Spring when he was approached by 2 black males. They took his cell phone and then ask if he had any marijuana. He said, “No”, and was then choked from behind by the suspects.  

            -On 01-03-06, at 6:40 p.m., a 15-year-old Kensington youth was walking near the Acorn Self Storage on West Ave. in Kensington when he noticed a silver vehicle parked in the back lot. All of a sudden, the vehicle came at him with Suspect #1 riding on the hood. The other two suspects confronted the victim and grabbed his wallet and cell phone. All three suspects reentered the car and the driver (Suspect #4) drove to the rear lot of the Acorn Building. The vehicle was described as a 2002 Dodge Intrepid, 4 door, silver, with Md. Tags.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 17-18, 6’0”, 170-180 lbs., blue jeans, dark jacket, black skull cap.
            -Suspect #2 – B/M, 16-18, 5’9”-5’10”, 170-180 lbs., afro style hair, beige jacket.           

            -On 01-11-06, at 4:52 p.m., a 31-year-old woman from Savage, Md. was leaving the 9900 block of Medical Center Dr. in Rockville when she bumped into a suspect. When the victim reached out to keep the suspect from falling, the suspect grabbed her purse and ran out of the parking lot toward Broschart Road.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 18-24, 5’10”-5’11”, 170-190 lbs., black jacket.  

            -On 01-07-06, at 8:35 p.m., a 29-year-old Silver Spring woman was walking with her father in the 8500 block of 16^th Street toward East West Hwy. in Silver Spring when a suspect approached from behind and grabbed the woman’s purse. The suspect ran towards East West Highway. A witness later reported a similar robbery in the same area.
            - Suspect #1 – B/M, 18-25, 5’9”-6’0”, black puffy jacket, blue jeans. 

            -On 01-04-06, at 3:00 p.m., a 62-year-old Germantown man was walking in the 20000 block of Father Hurley Blvd. in Germantown when he was attacked by three black males who stole his neck chain. The victim had cuts on his lip and chin and was disoriented.
            -B/M, 18-20, baggy jeans, late teens.

RAPE

            -On 01-07-06, a 36-year-old Montgomery Village woman reported that she had been raped several times by a known suspect. The suspect’s identity is known and the investigation is continuing. 

            -On 01-09-06, a family member from Washington, D.C. reported that her 14-year-old relative had been raped, while in Rockville, by an 18-year-old Rockville man who she had met on a chat line in December. The suspect’s identity is known and the investigation is continuing.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -12025 Parklawn Drive in Rockville, between 7:30 p.m. on 1-7-06 and 7:45 a.m. on 1-8-06.  Forced entry, nothing reported taken.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

            -5500 block of Alderbrook Court in Rockville, between 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on 1-10-06.  Forced entry, property taken. 

2^ND DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -7101 Democracy Boulevard in Bethesda, between 9:30 p.m. on 1-5-06 and 9:45 a.m. on 1-6-06.  Forced entry, property taken. 

            8218 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda, between 6:40 p.m. and 7:10 p.m. on 1-6-06.  Forced entry, checks taken. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -4000 block of Spruell Drive in Kensington, between 3:00 p.m. on 1-2-06 and 1:00 p.m. on 1-3-06.  Forcible attempt. 

            -7000 block of Western Avenue in Chevy Chase, between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on 1-9-06. Forced entry, property taken. 

3^RD DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -11464 Cherry Hill Road in Silver Spring, between 8:10 p.m. on 1-10-06 and 4:02 a.m. on 1-11-06. Forced entry, no property taken. 

6^TH DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -19500 block of Gallatin Drive in Gaithersburg, at 11:05 a.m. on 1-11-06. Forced entry, no property reported taken.
