RECENT CRIME SUMMARY
January 24, 2005
ARMED ROBBERY
-On 01-19-05, at 4:30 p.m., a 28-year-old Silver
Spring woman was walking in the 7100 block of Wisconsin Ave. in
Bethesda when she was approached by two suspects. Suspect #1(B/M,
30, 6’0”, black pants, jacket and ski hat with Nike logo, black
gloves) grabbed the victim from behind and held a knife to her neck
while suspect #2 (B/M, 25, 5’5”, blue jeans, dark jacket, black ski
hat, with Nike logo, black gloves) grabbed the victim’s purse. The
suspects then fled on foot southbound on Wisconsin Avenue.
-On 01-20-05, at 10:15 p.m., a
64-year-old employee of Rite Aid on Westbard Ave. in Bethesda was
walking to her car when a suspect approached her. The suspect (B/M,
20s, 5’7”, 150 lbs., red hooded jacket, jeans, white nose/mouth
mask) displayed a gun and demanded her purse. The victim dropped her
purse and lunch bag. The suspect then picked up the purse and fled
the scene.
-On 01-22-05, at 6:28 p.m., a 61-year-old
Rockville man and his wife were walking in the rear parking lot of
the Mid Pike Plaza on Rockville Pike when two suspects approached
them. Suspect #2 (Hispanic/M, 20-25, 5’9”, athletic build, dark
skinned, black coat, blue jeans) grabbed his wife’s purse and
Suspect #1 (Hispanic/M, 20-25, 5’8”, puffy coat, dark pants, black
ski cap) kicked his wife several times. The husband tried to come to
her aid but slipped on the ice and was cut by one of the suspects
wielding an unknown object. The suspects fled on foot towards
Montrose Road. The suspects obtained the husband’s black leather bag
during the assault. The wife’s purse was recovered.
-On 01-20-05, at 6:30 a.m., a 40-year-old
Silver Spring woman was waiting for a bus on Spring St. between 16th
St. and 2nd Ave. when the suspect (B/M, 6’0”, 160 lbs.,
blue hooded sweatshirt, dark khaki pants, light tan Timberland
boots) displayed a handgun and demanded her property. The victim
handed over her purse and the suspect ran in the direction of 2nd
Avenue.
-On 01-17-05, at 8:13 p.m., the Family
Market, located at 420 Lincoln St. in Rockville was robbed. A lone
suspect (Hispanic/M, 22-25, 5’9”, 160 lbs., heavy, with acne, gray
hood) entered the store, grabbed the female clerk, and displayed a
handgun. The suspect took cash from the register and ran out the
front door.

RAPE
-On 01-23-05, a
27-year-old female from Gaithersburg reported that she had been
raped on 01-18-05 at 12:20 a.m. by a known acquaintance that spent
the night at her residence.
BURGLARY ARREST
-On 01-16-05, Kris Alexander Frenz, 21,
of the 9000 block of Manchester Rd. in Silver Spring was arrested
and charged with Fourth-degree Burglary, Malicious Destruction of
Property over $500, Failure to Obey a Reasonable and Lawful Order of
a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest. The arrest was the result of
an incident that occurred in the 500 block of Schuler Road in the
Highland View community of Silver Spring.
