RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

February 1, 2006 

 

ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 01-21-06, at 10:05 p.m., a 51-year-old Gaithersburg man encountered 5 black male teenage suspects at the corner of Amity Dr. and Capricorn Terrace in Gaithersburg. They pointed a black handgun at the victim and demanded his wallet. The victim stated he had no wallet or money. All suspects then left the area on foot. No property was taken.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 5’10”-6’00”, with black face mask, armed with handgun
            -Suspect #2 – B/M, 5’10”-6’00”
            -Suspect #3 – B/M, 5’10”-6’00”
            -Suspects #4-5 - NFD 

            -On 01-27-06, at 12:05 a.m., a 16-year-old Olney female and her boyfriend, a 20 year-old Silver Spring man reported they were driving in the 3100 block of Schubert Rd. in Silver Spring when they observed a dark-colored 4-door vehicle on the side of the road. The suspicious vehicle forced the victim’s car to the side of the road and several suspects exited the car. They asked for money and grabbed the woman’s purse. The victims then ran through the woods, abandoning their vehicle.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 20-30 years-old, 5’10”-6’2”.
            -Suspect #2 – B/M, 20-30 years-old, 5’10”-6’03”
 

            -On 01-21-06, at 10:25 p.m., a 57-year-old Silver Spring man and a 63-year-old Silver Spring woman were walking in the 11300 block of Newport Mill Ave. in Silver Spring when a vehicle went by with 3 suspects inside. Suspect #1 (B/M, 30’s) rolled down the window and claimed he had a gun. He demanded money. The victims ignored the request. The vehicle drove off with Suspect #3 (B/F,28-30 years-old) driving. There is no description of Suspect #2.

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 01-21-06, at 5:10 p.m., a 51-year-old Washington, D.C. woman was at the bus stop in the 13500 block of Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring when a suspect walked up, snatched her purse, and fled the scene. The suspect fled eastbound on Hewitt Avenue.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 18-25, 6’0”, 200 lbs., black clothing.
 

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT/ARREST 

            -On 01-21-06, at 8:30 a.m., Alfredo F. Couarrubias, age 37, of the 11600 block of New Hampshire Ave. in Silver Spring was arrested and charged with 2 counts of 1st degree Assault, 2 counts of Reckless Endangerment, and Negligent Driving. The arrest was a result of a confrontation with a woman in another vehicle in the area of Georgia Ave. and East West Highway in Silver Spring.

 

INDECENT EXPOSURE/ARREST 

            -On 01-17-06, Anthony George Banswick, age 54, no-fixed address, was arrested and charged with indecent exposure and disorderly conduct. The arrest was a result of an incident at the Fitness First, 7900 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda where the defendant exposed himself to a woman.

 

BURGLARY ARREST 

            -On 01-15-06, Ryan Edward Rays, age 22, of the 8900 block of Wisconsin Ave. in Bethesda was arrested and charged with assault and possession of a concealed weapon. Also arrested were Apollo B. Pasia, age 27, and Marc Theodorov, age 19, both of the same address as above. They were charged with assault and 4th degree burglary. The arrests were a result of an incident that had just occurred in the 13200 block of Bristlecone Way in Germantown. 

            -On 01-12-06, a 13-year-old Montgomery Village female juvenile was arrested and charged with 3rd degree Burglary, 4th degree Burglary, Malicious Destruction of Property, and Trespass on private property. The arrest was a result of a burglary that had just occurred in the 19900 block of Stoney Point Way in Germantown. 

            -On 01-07-06, the following 6 juveniles were arrested and charged with 4th degree Burglary and Trespassing:
            -a 13 year-old Silver Spring female
            -a 16 year-old Silver Spring female
            -a 16 year-old Silver Spring male
            -a 16 year-old Silver Spring male
            -a 15 year-old Silver Spring male
            -a 16 year-old Silver Spring male
The following adults were charged with 4th degree burglary:
            -Marc Everett Bell, age 18, of the 13900 block of castle Blvd. in Silver Spring
            -Dominic Antonio Dodson, age 20, of the 3400 block of Gateshead Manor Way in Silver Spring
            -Christopher Lee Scott, age 28, of Washington, D.C.
            -Lorenzo Devon Davis, age 18, of the 2100 block of Hildarose Dr. in Silver Spring.
Scott was also charged with Malicious Destruction of Property. The arrests were a result of an incident in the 13900 block of Castle Blvd. in Silver Spring. 

            -On 01-10-06, at 1:00 p.m., a 14-year-old Germantown youth was arrested and charged with 1st degree Burglary. The arrest was a result of a burglary that had just occurred in the 19200 block of Wheatfield Terrace in Gaithersburg. 

            -On 01-11-06, Cruz Santiago, age 29, Nelson Lopez, age 29, Edgar Casco, age 31, Jose Guevara, age 39, and Manuel A. Rodriguez, age 39, were arrested and charged with 4th degree Burglary and Trespassing. The arrests were a result of a burglary in the 12300 block of Judson Rd. in Silver Spring. 

            -On 01-08-06, Gilbert Ingues Rodrequiez, Jr., age 31, no fixed-address, was arrested and charged with 2 counts of 2nd degree Burglary, 2 counts of Conspiracy to Commit 2nd degree Burglary, 3 counts of Contributing to the Condition of a Child, Traffic Citations for Fleeing and Eluding, Driving Revoked, and Failure to Equip Highway Vehicle with required lamps and reflectors. Several juveniles ages 12, 13, and 17, were also arrested and charged with 2nd degree burglary. The arrests were a result of an auto theft situation in the area of Quince Orchard Rd and N. Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg.

            -ALLIED MASONRY INC., 9105 Brookeville Road in Bethesda, between 6:15 p.m. on 01-22-06 and 6:00 a.m. on 01-23-06. Forced entry, property taken.

            -MEDICAL AND HEALTH SERVICES, 8218 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda, between 2:00 p.m. on 01-19-06 and 9:15 a.m. on 01-20-06. Forced entry, property taken.

            -CLEAR CHANNEL COMMUNICATIONS, 1801 Rockville Pike in Rockville, at 2:00 p.m. on 01-22-06. Forced entry, property taken.

            -MEDICAL AND HEALTH SERVICES, 4407 Willard Avenue in Chevy Chase, between 7:00 p.m. on 01-23-06 and 9:30 a.m. on 01-24-06. Forced entry, no property taken. 

RESIDENTIAL

            -6500 block of Goldleaf Drive in Bethesda, at 10:10 p.m. on 01-24-06. Forced entry, no property taken.

            -11000 block of Cedarwood Drive in North Bethesda, between 9:00 a.m. and 2:59 p.m. on 01-21-06. Forced entry, property taken.

            -5900 block of Welborn Drive in Bethesda, at 2:45 a.m. on 01-21-06. Forced entry, property taken.

 

3rd DISTRICT

RESIDENTIAL

            -1900 block of Treetop Lane in Silver Spring, between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on 01-24-06. Forced entry, property taken.

            -3500 block of Sheffield Manor Terrace in Silver Spring, between 6:45 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on 01-26-06. Forced entry, property taken.

            -1500 block of Ainsley Road in Silver Spring, at 11:00 a.m. on 01-10-06. Forced entry, no property taken.

            -3400 block of Robey Terrace in Silver Spring, between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. on 01-26-06. Forced entry, property taken.

            -500 block of Thayer Avenue in Silver Spring, between 6:30 p.m. on 01-24-06 and 6:40 a.m. on 01-25-06. Forced entry, no property taken.

            -4600 block of Dustin Road in Burtonsville, between 6:25 p.m. on 01-23-06 and 8:30 a.m. on 01-25-06. Forced entry, property taken.

            -13600 block of Colgate Way in Silver Spring, between 6:10 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on 01-25-06. Forced entry, property taken.

            -14900 block of McKnew Road in Burtonsville, between 8:20 a.m. and 4:50 p.m. on 01-25-06. Forced entry, property taken.

            -13900 block of Castle Boulevard in Silver Spring, between 3:30 p.m. on 01-25-06 and 12:30 a.m. on 01-26-06. Forced entry, property taken.

            -11200 block of Oakleaf Drive in Silver Spring, between 8:15 a.m. and 9:35 p.m. on 01-25-06. Forced entry, property taken.

            -13600 block of Sir Thomas Way in Silver Spring, between 6:00 p.m. on 10-18-05 and 6:10 p.m. on 01-25-06. Forced entry, property taken.
