STRONG-ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 02-07-04, at 1:20 a.m., a 35-year-old Silver Spring man was the victim of a strong- arm robbery in the 8600 block of Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring. The victim was grabbed from behind two suspects.  They took his wallet and cell phone.  The suspects were last seen heading north on Piney Branch Road.  The first suspect was a Hispanic male, 17-19 years, wearing a white tee shirt and jeans.  The second suspect was a Hispanic male, 17-19 year, wearing a red shirt and jeans.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT/ARREST 

            -On 02-05-04, Wagner R. Garcia, age 19, of the 8200 block of 14th Street in Hyattsville, was arrested and charged with First and Second Degree Assault on a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest. In addition, various driving charges were issued. The arrest was a result of an incident in the area of Cresthaven Drive and New Hampshire Avenue in Hillandale. RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -10000 block of Sorrel Ave., Potomac, between 4:00 p.m. on 02-03-04 and 9:00 a.m. on 02-06-04. Entered garage, nothing taken.

 

2ND DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -NIMH NATIONAL MENTAL HEALTH, 5413 W. Cedar Lane, Bethesda, between 7:15 p.m. on 02-04-04 and 7:35 a.m. on 02-05-04. Pried open door, unknown amount taken.

            -JAMES M. SALANDER, M.D., 11119 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, between 5:00 p.m. on 02-06-04 and 7:15 a.m. on 02-09-04. Pried frame on door, nothing taken.

            -SUNSHINE HOME SERVICES, 2604 Garfield Ave., Silver Spring, between 2:30 p.m. on 02-07-04 and 11:00 a.m. on 02-09-04. Pried lock on door, vehicle, commercial cleaning equipment taken.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -9300 block of Adelaide Dr., Bethesda, between 6:00 p.m. on 02-06-04 and 9:00 a.m. on 02-07-04. Attempt only, pried lock on door.

            -9400 block of Rose Hill Dr., Bethesda, between 11:15 a.m. and 11:41 a.m. on 02-08-04. Pried open window, nothing taken.

 

3RD DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -1000 block of Quebec Terr., Silver Spring, between 7:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on 02-09-04. Pried lock on door, jewelry, handbags, game systems and games taken.

            -3800 block of Wildlife Lane, Burtonsville, between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on 02-02-04. Opened door, Playstation and games taken.

            -11400 block of Stewart Lane, White Oak, between 11:30 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. on 02-06-04. Attempt only, pried screen on window.

            -1000 block of Ruatan St., Silver Spring, between 12:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on 02-06-04. Entered home, camcorder, camera, and jewelry taken.

            -11600 block of Lockwood Dr., White Oak, between 3:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on 02-08-04. Broke out window, unknown what was taken.

 

5TH DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -THE MIDDLEBROOK RESTAURANT, 19201 Frederick Rd., Germantown, between 12:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on 02-07-04. Broke through door, DVDs, liquor taken.

            -COUNTRYSIDE BEER AND WINE STORE, 13505 Clopper Rd., Germantown, between 9:00 p.m. on 02-08-04 and 6:35 a.m. on 02-09-04. Broke through door, unknown what was taken. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

-11400 block of Stoney Point Place, Germantown, between 2:00 p.m. on 01-25-04 and 10:00 a.m. on 02-05-04. Forced door, CD player, TV, cell phone, wallet, tapes taken.

-18800 block of Birdseye Dr., Germantown, at 2:35 p.m. on 02-05-04. Twist knob on door, money and jewelry taken.

-18900 block of Ferry Landing Circle, Germantown, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:10 p.m. on 02-04-04. Broke out door, Playstation games, jewelry, cash, and MP3 player taken.

-19000 block of Mediterranean Dr., Germantown, between 9:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on 02-04-04. Climbed through window, cash, jewelry, champagne, and suitcase taken.

-13100 block of Thackery Place, Germantown, between 5:00 p.m. on 02-01-04 and 12:00 a.m. on 02-03-04. Entered home, Xbox game system and games taken.

-19500 block of Gunners Branch Rd., Germantown, between an unknown time on 11-25-03 and 5:18 p.m. on 02-05-04. Broke through door, smoke detector taken.

-13300 block of Pepper Ct., Germantown, at 10:30 p.m. on 02-08-04. Attempt only, pried door.

 

6TH DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -Unit block of Napa Valley Rd. in Gaithersburg, between 6:00 p.m. on 02-04-04 and 10:00 a.m. on 02-05-04. Broke out window, unknown what taken.
