RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

March 6, 2006

RAPE ARREST 

      -On 02-13-06 at 3:04 a.m. a 27-year-old woman from Gaithersburg reported that she was raped by a former boyfriend the previous evening at her residence in Gaithersburg.  Her former boyfriend, a 26-year-old from the same address, was arrested and charged with Rape.

ATTEMPTED RAPE ARREST 

            -On 02-12-06 at 2:00 a.m., a 27-year-old woman from Gaithersburg reported that she was the victim of an attempted rape on the evening of 02-11-06 that occurred in the victim’s residence on Lost Knife Circle in Gaithersburg.  A 33-year-old man of an unknown address was charged with attempted first-degree rape, first-degree assault, first-degree assault, and two counts of assault on a police officer.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY ARREST 

            -On 02-14-06 at 12:30 a.m., a 33-year-old Germantown woman and a 26-year old Gaithersburg man were in the 400 block of Muddy Branch Road in Gaithersburg, when they were approached by a man they recognized.  He was armed with a gun who attempted to rob them.   Timothy Charles Chaney, age 21, of the 16100 block of Crabbs Branch Way in Derwood, was arrested and charged with two counts of first and second-degree assault, two counts of armed robbery, possession of drug paraphernalia, and commission of a crime with an firearm. 

            -On 02-11-06 at 11:07 p.m., a 24-year-old male from Wheaton was at a bus stop in the 600 block of University Blvd. E. in Silver Spring, when another male a the bus stop attempted to rob him of his property.  Javon Vernon Chisley, 24, of Rockville, was arrested and charged with attempted armed robbery.
