RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

 

March 7, 2006 

 

COMMERCIAL ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 02-22-06 at 10:35 p.m., an employee had closed the Chicken Out Rotisserie at 245 Kentland Boulevard in Gaithersburg, and as he was walking to his car, he was confronted by two men.  They ordered him back inside the business and forced him to give them money from the business.  After getting an undisclosed amount of money, they forced the employee into a restroom and told him to wait there.  After hearing them leave the business, the employee called the police.
            -Suspect #1 – H/M, 30 to 35, 5’08”, medium build, brown eyes, short black hair, gray lightweight jacket, gray sweatpants, armed with a handgun.
            -Suspect #2 – H/M, 30 to 35, 6’00”, medium build, gray jacket, blue turtleneck, gray sweatpants. 

            -On 02-22-06 at 2:45 p.m., a man walked into Kessler’s Dry Cleaners, at 8615 16th Street in Silver Spring, and with a handgun, announced the robbery.  After getting an undisclosed amount of money, he fled out of the business and was last seen heading north through the shopping center.
            -Suspect – B/M, 21, long coat, armed with a handgun. 

            - On 02-21-06 at 5:50 p.m., the suspect entered Services Unlimited, located at 701 Russell Avenue in Gaithersburg and approached an employee.  After a short conversation, the suspect produced a gun.  The employee gave money from the cash register to the suspect.  The suspect was last seen leaving Lakeforest Mall near the Silver Diner and walking into the parking lot.
            - Suspect – H/M, 20 to 25, 5’06” to 5’10”, 160 to 180 lbs., black ponytail, green camouflage jacket, blue jeans, black scarf over his face, armed with a handgun. 

              -On 02-24-06 at 11:30 p.m., two suspects entered the offices of Waiter on the Way, located at 16035 Comprint Circle in Gaithersburg.  With handguns displayed, they took money from the business.  They restrained the employees and left the business in an unknown direction.
              -Suspects #1 & #2  – B/M, 5’09” to 6’0”, medium build, wearing all dark clothing, dark gloves, and dark ski masks. 

 

ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY 

              - On 02-20-06 at 8:26 p.m., a 37-year-old man from Silver Spring was walking along Manchester Road in the area of Geren Road in Silver Spring, when he was approached by two suspects who demanded his money.  The victim told the suspects he would not give them any money and Suspect #1 struck the victim with an unknown object.  The suspects then ran to a blue and green car and were last seen toward E. Wayne Avenue.  There is no description of the suspects. 

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

              - On 02-21-06 at 11:00 a.m., a 16 and a 17-year-old male, both from Rockville, were on a path in the area of Mt. Vernon Avenue and Fleet Street in Rockville, when they were confronted by four males who demanded their money.  After getting the victim’s cash and some of their property, the suspects fled the area on foot.
              -Suspect #1 – H/M, 16, 5’7” to 5’09”, 150 to 170 lbs., medium length black hair, black hooded sweatshirt.
              - Suspects #2, #3, and #4 – B/M, 16, wearing all black clothing.

 

ATTEMPTED STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

              - On 01-09-06 at 8:27 p.m., a 33-year old man from Gaithersburg was walking in the area of Turnstall Drive near Collette Way in Gaithersburg, when he was approached from behind by two suspects.  Suspect #1 assaulted the victim and then blocked him from leaving while Suspect #2 attempted to take the victim’s backpack.  The victim ran from the scene and the suspects fled in an unknown direction without getting any property from the victim.
              - Suspect #1 – B/M, 6’03”, 180 to 190 lbs., thin build, wearing black clothing and ski mask.
              - Suspect #2 – B/M, 5’8”, 170 lbs., medium build, wearing black jacket,  black pants, and a black hooded jacket. 

              -On 02-15-06 at 7:40 a.m., a 16-year-old male from Silver Spring, reported that he was the victim of an attempted robbery as he waited at a bus stop in the 1900 block of Randolph Road in Wheaton.  The victim was confronted by three suspects who demanded the victim’s money and property.  Additional suspects of an unknown description then appeared and assaulted the victim.  All of the suspects then got into a brown mini-van and fled the area in an unknown direction without getting any of the victim’s money or property.  There is no further description of the suspects.

            -ASADUR’S MARKET, 5536 Randolph Road in Rockville, at 2:03 p.m. on 02-26-06. Forced entry, no property taken.

            -EB GAMES, 1301 Rockville Pike in Kensington, between 6:08 p.m. on 02-26-06 and 8:30 a.m. on 02-27-06. Forced entry, property taken.

 

2nd DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL 

            -S AND R MANAGEMENT, 8584 Freyman Drive in Bethesda, between 2:00 p.m. on 02-22-06 and 6:30 a.m. on 02-23-06. Forced entry, property taken.

 

3rd DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL 

            -Unit block of 13th Street in Silver Spring, between 9:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on 02-27-06. Forced entry, property taken.

            -3300 block of Briggs Chaney Road in Silver Spring, between 1:00 p.m. on 02-02-06 and 11:30 a.m. on 03-02-06. Forced entry, no property taken.

            -14900 block of Falconwood Drive in Burtonsville, between 5:30 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. on 02-28-06. Forced entry, no property taken.

 

4th DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL 

            -THE FROST SCHOOL, 4915 Aspen Hill Road in Rockville, between 10:00 p.m. on 02-23-06 and 6:15 a.m. on 02-24-06. Forced entry, property taken.

            -HYAHN RESTAURANT, 4007 Norbeck Road in Rockville, between 5:45 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. on 02-26-06. Forced entry, property taken.

            -YESHIVA OF GREATER WASHINGTON SCHOOL, 1216 Arcola Avenue in Silver Spring, between 7:30 p.m. and 7:40 p.m. on 02-21-06. Forced entry, no property taken. 

RESIDENTIAL 

            -3400 block of Pendleton Drive in Wheaton, between 3:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on 02-24-06. Forced entry, property taken.

            -1200 block of Windmill Lane in Silver Spring, between 11:03 a.m. and 11:10 a.m. on 02-27-06. Forced entry, property taken.

            -14300 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring, between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on 02-22-06. Forced entry, property taken.

            -1100 block of Cavendish Drive in Silver Spring, between 1:55 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on 02-28-06. Forced entry, no property taken.
