ARMED ROBBERY
 

            -On 03-08-04, at 1:20 a.m., a 48-year-old Silver Spring man and a 14-year-old Silver Spring girl were walking in the area of University Blvd. and Brunett Ave. in Four Corners when a vehicle approached. Suspect #1 (B/M, 18, 5’0”, 120 lbs., dark clothing) exited the vehicle, pointed a gun at the teenager and demanded money. The female victim tried to grab the gun but was not successful. The older victim said he would provide money and handed over his wallet with cash. Suspect #2 (B/M, 20) did not leave the vehicle. The car was described as an older vehicle, possible black in color. 

         -On 03-08-04, at 10:40 a.m., a Silver Spring woman’s car broke down at the corner of E. Indian Spring Ed. and University Blvd. in Four Corners and she contacted family members. When her daughter and a friend arrived, they noticed a vehicle with 3 suspects parked in front of the disabled vehicle. One of the suspects (B/M, 15-17, short black hair, big eyes, flat nose, blue hooded jacket) exited the vehicle and pointed a handgun at the victims. Another suspect (B/M, 15-17, 200 lbs., black jacket knee length) exited the car and took purses from the victims. The suspects returned to the car and fled east on Indian Spring Drive. The suspect’s car was described as a 1990 Toyota Camry, 4 door, red with Md. tags. 

            -On 04-08-04, at 9:41 p.m., a 56-year-old Hyattsville man had parked his car and was walking on the sidewalk on Quebec St. near Ruatan St. in Silver Spring when he was confronted by 2 black males. Suspect #2 (B/M, 25-30, 5’10”-6’0”, 140-150 lbs., black clothing, black cap) displayed a knife and demanded money. Suspect #1 (B/M, 25-30, 5’10”-6’0”, 180-200 lbs., all black clothing) took the victim’s wallet out of his pocket. Both suspects then fled in the direction of Carroll Avenue. 

            -On 03-06-04, at 1:00 a.m., The Exxon Station located at 15211 Frederick Rd. in Rockville was robbed. Suspect #1 (B/M, 5’5”-6’0”, 200 lbs., braided black hair, small facial hair, jeans, jacket with hood) and Suspect #2 (B/M, 6’0”-6’3”, 180-200 lbs., jeans, jacket) entered the station and attempted to purchase candy. Suspect #1 had a metal rod and threatened the clerk. They took cash from the register when it was open. The suspects then fled the scene.

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 03-06-04, at 11:00 a.m., an employee for Giant Foods on New Hampshire Ave. in Colesville was trying to stop a shoplifter when she was pushed in the chest by the suspect. Suspect #1 (B/M, 50s, 5’9”, 150 lbs., black grey hair, mustache, white jacket, stripped shirt) came into the store and was observed taking razors and placing them in his coat. The suspect pushed the victim out of the way when she tried to stop him. Another store employee walked out to a suspect vehicle and confronted Suspect #2 (W/M, 40-49, teeth missing). He denied knowing Suspect #1. The vehicle was described as a white Chevy SUV with temporary MD. tags.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -7900 block of Coach St., Potomac, between 12:00 a.m. on 03-05-04 and 9:00 a.m. on 03-07-04.  Forced door open, unknown what was taken.

      -8600 block of Red Coat Lane, Potomac, between 5:00 p.m. on 02-29-04 and 12:00 a.m. on 03-06-04.  Entered home, purse, cell phone, and money taken.

            -12600 block of Lloyd Minster Dr., Gaithersburg, between 3:00 p.m. and 3:20 p.m. on 03-05-04.  Pried open door, jewelry and money taken.          

 

2ND DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -TAN’S BARBER SHOP, 5208 Nicholson Lane, Rockville, between 8:00 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. on 03-05-04.  Entered business, money taken.

            -BRADLEY FOOD & BEVERAGE, 6904 Arlington Rd., Bethesda, between 9:30 p.m. on 03-05-04 and 1:40 a.m. on 03-06-04.  Door glass shattered, cash register taken.

            -CHEVY CHASE LIQUORS, 6831 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda, between 11:00 p.m. on 03-05-04 and 7:55 a.m. on 03-06-04.  Door glass shattered, liquor taken. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -1100 block of Cedar Wood Dr., Rockville, between 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. on 03-05-04.  Attempt only, pried door.

            -5500 block of Whitley Park Terr., Bethesda, at 8:30 p.m. on 03-04-04.  Attempt only, pried door.

 

3RD DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -NICHOLSON MASONRY AND IMPROVEMENTS, 12700 Old Columbia Pike in Silver Spring, between 3:00 p.m. on 03-05-04 and 6:30 a.m. on 03-07-04. Cut padlock on front door, saws for masonry taken. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -700 block of Winhall Way in Silver Spring, between 2:00 p.m. and 4:20 p.m. on 03-08-04. Broke through side door, pocket watches, TV, jewelry taken.

            -800 block of Thayer Ave. in Silver Spring, between 3:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on 03-08-04. Pried open front door, nothing taken.

            -11400 block of Columbia Pike in Silver Spring, at 11:48 a.m. on 03-04-04. Pried open front door, nothing taken.

 

4TH DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -DR. GARY POLYS OFFICE, 3416 Olandwood Ct., Olney, between 5:00 p.m. on 02-27-04 and 8:30 a.m. on 03-01-04.  Pried open door, money taken.

            -CASA OF MARYLAND, INC., 3015 Upton Dr., Kensington, between 10:00 a.m. on 02-28-04 and 8:46 a.m. on 03-01-04.  Entered business, computer equipment taken.

            -HUGO SALON, 2901 University Blvd. W, Kensington, at 1:50 a.m. on 03-08-04.  Attempt only, pried door. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -1800 block of Snowden Lane, Silver Spring, between 9:00 a.m. on 02-27-04 and 5:00 p.m. on 03-07-04.  Attempt only, pried door.

            -16400 block of Hillcroft Dr., Olney, between 5:00 p.m. and 5:05 p.m. on 03-06-04.  Entered garage, beer taken.

            -700 block of Dryden St., Wheaton, between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on 03-08-04.  Forced open door, stereo equipment, compact discs, DVDs, Playstation and games, clothing, and jewelry taken.

            -11000 block of Cone Lane, Wheaton, between 10:30 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. on 03-08-04.  Forced open door, unknown what was taken.

            -13200 block of Camellia Dr., Wheaton, between 6:00 a.m. and 10:59 a.m. on 03-08-04.  Attempt only, pried door.

            -14600 block of Orangewood St., Wheaton, between 8:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on 03-05-04.  Entered home, money taken.

            -10900 block of Drumm Ave., Kensington, between 10:00 a.m. on 03-01-04 and 3:30 p.m. on 03-04-04.  Attempt only, pried door.

            -18500 block of Brooke Rd., Sandy Spring, between 6:30 p.m. on 03-02-04 and 7:30 a.m. on 03-03-04.  Pried lock, unknown what was taken.

            -GOODYEAR, 19815 Frederick Rd., Germantown, between unknown time on 03-07-04 and 7:35 a.m. on 03-08-04.  Forced open door, money taken.

            -MONA’S DELI, 20251 Century Blvd., Germantown, between 3:45 p.m. on 03-04-04 and 8:00 a.m. on 03-05-04.  Attempt only, pried lock on door. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -19100 block of Grotto Lane, Germantown, between 10:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. on 03-04-04.  Attempt only, window broken.

            -25000 block of Old Hundred Rd., Dickerson, between 8:15 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on 03-05-04.  Forced open door, weapons taken.

            -20000 block of Frederick Rd., Germantown, between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on 03-08-04.  Window broken, clothing, jewelry, and DVDs taken.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

      -MENHIEM ENTERPRISES, 7920 Beechcraft Ave., Gaithersburg, between 7:00 p.m. on 03-03-04 and 7:00 a.m. on 03-04-04.  Climbed through window, computer equipment taken. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -400 block of N. Summit Ave., Gaithersburg, between 1:00 p.m. and 3:50 p.m. on 03-05-04.  Forced open door, Playstation and games, shoes, compact discs and DVDs taken.

            -100 block of Shadow Glen Ct., Gaithersburg, at 5:38 a.m. on 03-07-04.  Entered garage, door opener taken.

            -200 block of Shadow Glen Ct., Gaithersburg, between 5:00 a.m. and 5:38 a.m. on 03-07-04.  Entered garage, unknown what was taken.

            -20400 block of Shadow Oak Dr., Montgomery Village, at 2:00 p.m. on 03-03-04.  Pried open door, unknown what was taken.
