RECENT CRIME SUMMARY
March 11, 2005
RAPE
-On 03-09-05, a 19-year-old Germantown
female was inside her residence when she discovered a known suspect
standing in her hallway. The suspect dragged the victim to the
couch where he forced intercourse. The suspect is known and the
investigation is continuing.
COMMERCIAL
ARMED ROBBERY
-On
03-08-05, at 10:30 p.m., the Pizza Bolis Restaurant, located at
13312 Old Columbia Pike in Silver Spring was robbed. A lone suspect
(B/M, 37-43, 6-61 tall, 175-180 lbs., mustache, black ski cap,
and long black coat) entered the store and approached the clerk. The
suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money. The victim handed
over an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect fled out the back
door.

03-25-05, at 8:10 p.m., a Dominos Pizza delivery person had
completed his delivery to an apartment complex in the 12600 block of
Layhill Rd. in the Aspen Hill area of Silver Spring, when he was
approached by three suspects. One suspect (B/M, 20-25, 6-62
tall, black clothes) struck the victim on the back of the head with
a gun. The second suspect (B/M, 20-25, 6-62 tall, ski mask,
khaki jacket, dark pants) demanded money. A third suspect (B/M,
20-25, 57-58 tall, bald, and wearing a red jacket) stood nearby
and made threatening statements to the victim. The victim complied
and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and property. The
suspects fled the scene in a late 90s, black Ford Explorer.
ARMED
ROBBERY
-On
03-05-05, at 8:00 p.m., a 36-year-old Wheaton man was sitting on a
fence in the 2300 block of Glenmont Circle in Wheaton when he was
approached by two suspects who displayed guns and demanded money.
The suspects grabbed the victims wallet, and then walked towards
Randolph Road. A third suspect walked away with the first two.
-Suspect #1 B/M, 18-23, 57, 200 lbs., very short
hair, heavy, red jacket.
-Suspect #2 B/M, 18-23, 61, 170 lbs., thin, black
mask, white jacket.
-Suspect #3 B/M, 18-23, dark jacket.

03-04-05, at 8:40 p.m., a 17-year-old Gaithersburg female and her
boyfriend were at a bus stop on Odendhal Ave. at Lakeforest Mall in
Gaithersburg, when they were approached by a group of approximately
five unknown black males. One suspect demanded her purse and
displayed a handgun. The victim complied and gave up her purse. One
of the suspects then struck the victims boyfriend in the head. The
suspect fled the area on foot in the direction of Russell Avenue.
The first suspect is described as a black male, 61 tall, 150
pounds, wearing a black coat and grey bandana. The other four
suspects were described as black males, 56 59 tall, wearing
black clothing.

03-05-05 at 10:10 p.m., a 56-year-old Montgomery Village man was
walking in the 19300 block of Club House Rd. in Gaithersburg when a
female suspect approached him and asked for bus fare. When the
victim took his wallet out, the suspect grabbed the wallet, and then
pushed the victim, knocking him to the ground. The suspect then
fled on foot. The suspect is described as a black female, 59
510 tall, wearing tight blue jeans and a dark-blue jacket.
STRONG ARM
ROBBERY
-On
03-07-05, at 8:25 p.m., a 51-year-old Silver Spring man was
assaulted by two suspects in the stairwell of a building in the 800
block of University Blvd. E. in the Four Corners area of Silver
Spring. One of the suspects then took the victims wallet, and both
suspects fled on foot. Both suspects were described as black males,
16-20, 58 to 6 tall, 150 lbs., brown eyes, and black hair. One
suspect was wearing dark clothing.

03-07-05, at 2:00 p.m., a 20-year-old Silver Spring man was
assaulted by two suspects in the hallway of a building in the 11200
block of Lockwood Dr. in the White Oak area of Silver Spring. The
suspects forcibly removed some of the victims property then fled
into the elevator of the building. The first suspect is described
as a black male, 20-22, 59 to 510 tall, short- black hair, long
mustache, and was wearing blue jeans, a black windbreaker,
army-green hat and a t-shirt. The second suspect is described as a
black male, 20-22, 59 to 510 tall, cornrows, wearing blue jeans
and a black jacket.
ARMED
ROBBERY ARREST
-On
03-08-05, at 12:55 a.m., Aaron Sherrod Fennell, age 18, of
Forestville, was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery, Conspiracy
to Commit Armed Robbery, Possession of CDS - Marijuana, and
Concealing a Deadly Weapon. Three 17-year-old male juveniles, two
from Gaithersburg and one from Upper Marlboro, were also arrested.
All three were charged with Armed Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit
Armed Robbery. The arrests were a result of an incident that day in
the 9600 block of Russell Ave. in Gaithersburg.

03-05-05, Ryan D. Robinson, 18, of the 2900 block of School House
Cir. in Wheaton was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery,
Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, and Transporting a Handgun in a
Vehicle. A 16-year-old Wheaton male, a 17-year-old Wheaton male, a
17-year-old D.C. male, and a 15-year-old D.C. male were also
arrested for the same incident and charged with Armed Robbery,
Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, and Transporting a Handgun in a
Vehicle. The 15-year-old was also charged with Possession of
CDS-Marijuana. The arrests were the result of an incident that day
in the 10800 block of Georgia Ave. in Wheaton.

02-26-05, Raymond Lee Broomall, 19, of the 13200 block of Grenoble
Dr. in Rockville, Michael Lane Lester, 18, of the 4500 block of
Randolph Rd. in Silver Spring, William Daniel Kittrell, 16, of
Rockville (charged as an adult), and Casey Vincent Claggett, 18, of
the 4600 block of Hallet Pl. in Rockville, were arrested and charged
with Armed Robbery, Theft Under $500, and Conspiracy. The arrests
were the result of an incident that day at Grenoble Dr. and Parkland
Dr. in the Aspen Hill Park area of Silver Spring.

03-07-05, Terell Cox, 19, of the 9200 block of Hummingbird Tr. in
Gaithersburg, a 17-year-old Gaithersburg male, and a 16-year-old
Gaithersburg male, were arrested and charged with Attempted Robbery,
Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, and Second-degree Assault. The
arrests were the result of an incident that day in the 11100 block
of Viers Mill Rd. in Wheaton.
AGGRAVATED
ASSAULT
-On
03-05-05, at 9:30 a.m., a 40-year-old Wheaton man was directing
traffic for a construction project at the intersection of Friendship
Blvd. and Willard Ave. in Friendship Heights, when he became
involved in an altercation with a dump truck driver. During the
altercation, the victim was struck in the face with a hammer. The
victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local
hospital. The suspect is known and the investigation is continuing.
AGGRAVATED
ASSAULT ARREST

03-05-05 Umar Carter, 25, of the 400 block of Virginia Ave. in
Hagerstown, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Handgun,
Possession of a Handgun in a Vehicle, Obliterating the Serial Number
of a Firearm, and First-degree Assault; Shaundu Kendelle Carter,
22, of the 900 block of Maryland Ave. in Hagerstown, was arrested
and charged with Possession of a Handgun in a Vehicle, Obliterating
the Serial Number of a Firearm, Possession of Firearm with a CDS
Conviction, Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, and
Possession of a Firearm by a Person with a Felony Conviction;
Habeehah Amirah Keenan, 26, of the 100 block of Doub Way in
Hagerstown, was arrested and charged with Obliterating a Serial
Number of a Firearm, Possession of a Handgun, Carrying a Concealed
Deadly Weapon, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of CDS
Paraphernalia-Marijuana. The arrests were the result of an incident
that day in the 13800 block of Outlet Dr. in the Briggs Chaney area
of Silver Spring.
BURGLARY
ARREST

02-27-05, a 14-year-old D.C. male was arrested and charged with
Third-degree Burglary, Theft Under $500, and Second-degree Assault.
The arrest is the result of an incident that day in the 14400 block
of Homecrest Rd. in the Autumn Walk area of Silver Spring.
-On
03-04-05, Antonio Castillo, 38, and Ramos Cruz, 37, both of no fixed
address were arrested and charged with Fourth-degree Burglary and
Trespassing. The arrests were the result of an incident that day in
the 2300 block of Shorefield Rd. in Wheaton.
-On
03-05-05, Robin M. Smith, of no fixed address, was arrested and
charged with 4th Degree Burglary, Trespassing,
Second-degree Assault, and Disorderly Conduct. The arrest was the
result of an incident that day in the 10200 block of Wild Apple Cir.
in Montgomery Village.

EXPOSURE

03-05-05 at 8:00 p.m., a suspect exposed himself to a 24-year-old
Rockville woman at the Bradley Ice Cream Parlor at 10400 Old
Georgetown Rd. in Bethesda. The suspect is described as a white
male; 56 to 58 tall, average build, with a grey mustache and
beard, blue jeans, blue jean jacket, and blue baseball cap.
