RECENT CRIME SUMMARY
March 15, 2005
ARMED ROBBERY
-On
03-09-05, at 5:20 p.m., The Flower Hill Beer & Wine store, located
at 18253 Flower Hill Way in Gaithersburg was robbed. A lone suspect
entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the
register. The victim complied. The suspect fled the scene.
-Suspect #1 B/M, 20s, 58, 155 lbs., black jacket,
black mask, blue jeans.
STRONG ARM ROBBERY
-On
03-11-05, at 4:20 p.m., a 14-year-old Gaithersburg girl was in the
area of Firstfield Rd. and Clopper Rd. when she encountered a group
of 10 or more black female juveniles. Suspect #1 began to punch her.
The victim ran away but was caught by Suspect #1 and Suspect #2, who
knocked her to the ground. The suspects then ran away.
-On 03-08-05, at 9:30 p.m., an employee
for Whipps Garage in Clarksburg was the victim of an attempted
strong-armed robbery. A suspect approached her outside the garage
and demanded money but the victim said she had none. The suspect
then ran off in the direction of Gateway Center Drive. No property
was obtained.
-Suspect #1 B/M, 40s, 510, thin, dark clothing,
baseball hat.
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT/ARREST
-On 03-04-05, at 10:10 p.m., a
16-year-old Germantown youth was arrested and charged with 1st
degree Assault and Possession of a Weapon. The arrest was a result
of an incident in the parking lot area in the Oak Shade Dr. in
Montgomery Village.
-On 03-13-05, at 12:40 p.m., a 17
year-old Wheaton male juvenile was arrested and charged with 1st
and 2nd degree Assault, 1st degree Burglary,
Theft over, and Malicious destruction over. The arrest was a result
of a burglary and aggravated assault in the 9300 block of W.
Parkhill Dr. in Bethesda.
RAPE
-On
03-09-05, at 10:30 a.m., a 19-year-old Gaithersburg woman reported
that she was in her apartment when a suspect appeared and assaulted
her. The suspect then left. The investigation continues.
-Suspect #1 Hispanic/M, 42, 57, 200 lbs., black
pants, blue jacket.

-2600 block of East West Highway in Chevy
Chase, between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on 03-09-05. Broke out rear
door, property taken.

BURGLARY
-URO CENTER ASSOCIATES, 11161 New
Hampshire Ave. in Silver Spring, between 3:00 p.m. on 03-05-05 and
11:00 a.m. on 03-06-05. Pried door, attempt only.
-SILVER SPRING LIBRARY, 8901 Colesville
Rd. in Silver Spring, at 12:42 a.m. on 03-11-05. Climbed through
front window, nothing taken.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
-Unit block of Florio Dr. in Silver
Spring, between 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on 03-10-05. Broke through
rear window, property taken.
-10300 block of Colesville Rd. on Silver
Spring, between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on 03-09-05. Forced entry,
nothing taken.

COMMERCIAL
BURGLARY
-POOLESVILLE HARDWARE, 19961 Fisher Ave.
in Poolesville, between 4:03 a.m. and 4:15 a.m. on 03-11-05. Pried
open side door, nothing taken.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
-12600 block of Piedmont Trail in
Clarksburg, between 2:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. on 03-08-05. Forced
entry, property taken.
BURGLARY ARREST
-On
03-09-05, 10:00 a.m., Brian Christopher Baldwin, age 31, of the 1300
block of Mimosa Lane in Silver Spring was arrested and charged with
Possession of Burglars Tools and 4th degree Burglary. The arrest
was a result of information compiled about a serial burglar in the
neighborhoods off East Randolph Rd. in Silver Spring.
