RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

March 16, 2005

 

ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 03-13-05, at 12:30 a.m., 3 young male victims were in the parking lot of the unit block of University Blvd. in Silver Spring when they were approached by 3 suspects. Suspects #1 and #2 each displayed a gun and Suspect #3 had a knife. They demanded property from the victims and the victims complied by handing over cash. The suspects were last seen running towards the Shell Station behind the 7-11 store.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 19-20, 6’2”, 160 lbs., orange coat.
            -Suspect #2 – B/F, 14, 5’3”, 120 lbs., dark clothing.
            -Suspect #3 – B/M, 5’8”, 19-20, hoodie. 

            -On 03-11-05, at 9:05 p.m., a man and wife from Alabama had just checked in to the Days Inn in Silver Spring when they were approached by a suspect. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money from the couple. The victim’s complied. The suspect fled in an unknown direction.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 20s, 6’2”, 200 lbs., unshaven, black pants, black coat.

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 03-13-05, at 1:15 p.m., a 16-year-old Silver Spring youth was inside the Universal Super Market in the 8600 block of Flower Ave. when 2 suspects approached him. They took cash from the victim. The suspects entered a waiting vehicle (Toyota Camry, beige sedan with Va. plates). The vehicle fled northbound on Piney Branch Road.
            -Suspect #1 – Hispanic/M, 30, 5’4”, 180 lbs., long hair, mustache, mole on face.
            -Suspect #2 – Hispanic/M, 30s, 5’5”, 190 lbs., black shirt.
            -Suspect #3 and #4 – Unknown

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 

            -On 03-13-05, at 2:15 a.m., police responded to Shady Grove Hospital to interview a group of individuals who had been involved with a fight and stabbing at a party in the 19200

block of Circle Gate Dr. in Germantown. A fight had ensued between about 20 people and at least one person was stabbed.  The investigation continues.
 

SEX ASSAULT 

            -On 03-11-05, at 10:30 p.m., three adult females reported they had been inappropriately touched by a suspect in the 9600 block of Marston La. in Montgomery Village. The suspect’s identity is known and the investigation is continuing.

 

INDECENT EXPOSURE 

            -On 03-11-05, at 10:00 a.m., a 21-year-old Washington, D.C. woman reported that she encountered a suspect in the 2700 block of Colston Dr. in Bethesda who pulled up in a lime green Volkswagen Beetle, got out, and began to masturbate.

            -Suspect #1 – W/M, 30s, dark brown hair, clean shaven.

 

ARREST 

            -On 03-12-05, at 11:45 p.m., Angela Yvonne Brown, age 54, was arrested and charged with 1st degree Assault and Possession of a dangerous weapon. The arrest was a result a assault in the 100 block of Deer Park Way in Gaithersburg, that had just occurred. 

            -On 03-07-05, at 2:39 a.m., Vincent Thomas Wallace, age 23, of the 600 block of Gude Dr. in Rockville was arrested for attempted burglary at It’s a Bagel, Bagel Shop, located at 15784 Shady Grove Rd in Gaithersburg.

1ST DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -11500 block of Ridge Mist Terrace in Potomac, between 4:00 p.m. and 4:20 p.m. on 03-11-05. Forced entry, property taken.

 

2nd DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL 

            -SENECA ONE, 7920 Norfolk Avenue, Bethesda, MD  20814, between 7:00 p.m. on 02-24-05 and 12:00 p.m. on 02-27-05.  Forced entry, property taken. 

RESIDENTIAL 

            -2900 block of Wilton Avenue, in the Florest Glen area of Silver Spring, between 6:45 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on 03-10-05.  Unknown method of entry, property taken.
 

3rd DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL 

            -11500 block of Lockwood Drive, White Oak area of Silver Spring, between 8:00 a.m. on 03-10-05 and 2:00 a.m. on 03-11-05. Forced entry, PlayStation console and games taken.

            -200 block of Lexington Drive in the Four Corners community of Silver Spring, between 8:00 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. on 03-10-05.  No force, nothing taken.

            - Unit block of Franklin Avenue, in the Indian Spring area of Silver Spring, between 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. on 03-12-05, Forced entry, jewelry, currency, electronic equipment, and brief case taken.

            -300 block of Southampton Drive, in the Indian Spring area of Silver Spring, 12:00 p.m. on 03-08-05 and 10:44 a.m. on 03-12-05.  Forced entry, nothing taken.

 

5th DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL 

            -YURAKU JAPANESE RESTAURANT, 19773 Frederick Road in Germantown, between 11:00 p.m. on 03-11-05 and 6:41 a.m. on 03-12-05.  Forced entry, currency and camcorder taken.

            -ROCKY’S VIDEO & DVD, 19703 Frederick Road in Germantown, between 11:00 p.m. on 03-11-05 and 6:41 a.m. on 03-12-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -STUDIO MUSIC LLP, 26133 Ridge Road in Damascus, between 2:30 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on 03-13-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -RED ROOSTER, 10005 Damascus Blvd. in Damascus, on 03-13-05 discovered at 3:26 a.m.  Force, property taken.

            -DAMASCUS HIGH SCHOOL, 25921 Ridge Road in Damascus, between 2:20 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. on 03-13-05.  Unknown method entry, nothing taken.

 

6th DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL 

            -DIAMOND DRUGS, INC., 226 E. Diamond Avenue in Gaithersburg, between an unknown time on 03-12-05 and 8:20 a.m. on 03-13-05.  Forced entry, property taken. 

RESIDENTIAL 

            -300 block of N. Summit Avenue in Gaithersburg, between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on 03-11-05.   Forced entry, property taken.

            -100 block of Lazy Hollow, Gaithersburg, between 11:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on 03-11-05.  Forced entry, nothing taken.
