RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

 

March 16, 2006

 

ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 03-11-06, at 10:49 p.m., a 19-year-old man from Arnold, Md. was seated in a vehicle that was parked in the area of Scenery Drive and Scenery Place in Germantown when he noticed a group of people nearby. One of the suspects came over to the victim’s vehicle and pointed a gun at him and demanded money. The victim handed over some cash. The victim and his friend immediately drove away.
            -Suspect: B/M, 17-18, 5’10”-5’11”, mustache, Black T-shirt, black bandana, black sunglasses. 

            -On 03-11-06, at 10:50 a.m., a 36-year-old Silver Spring man was working at a residence in the 18800 block of Walkers Choice Rd. in Montgomery Village, when a suspect rushed the victim while he was loading his truck. The suspect displayed a knife and demanded his wallet. The victim complied. The suspect then ran to the back of the building.
            -Suspect: B/M, 18-20, 5’7”-5’11”, 160-170 lbs., dreadlocks, gray hooded sweatshirt, gray sweat pants, black skull cap. 

            -On 03-13-06, at 2:00 a.m., a 28-year-old Silver Spring man was in the 3900 block of Ferrara Dr. in Rockville when a suspect approached him, pulled out a knife and slashed the victim on the hands. The suspect then took cash from the victim and fled the scene on foot.
            -Suspect: H/M, heavy, wearing a black tank top armed with a knife.

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 03-06-06, at 3:30 p.m., a 30 year-old Silver Spring man was sitting on a bench at a bus stop at Piney Branch Rd. at Arliss St. when he was joined by 2 suspects. They demanded money and the victim said he had none. One of the suspects then punched the victim in the face. He was transported to local hospital.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 20-25, 6’0”-6’2”, short hair, thin, blue jeans, black jacket, black hat.
            -Suspect #2 – B/M, 20-25, 5’10”-6’2”, black jeans, blue jacket, black sneakers, black hat.

            -On 03-12-06, at 1:10 a.m., a 36 year-old Montgomery Village man was exiting his vehicle in the 11500 block of Lockwood Dr. in Silver Spring when he was approached by several unknown black males. They punched the victim and knocked him down. They took his wallet which contained cash. They drove off in several cars. There was no description of the suspects provided.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 

            -On 03-10-06, at 4:00 p.m., a 15 year-old Silver Spring youth was walking on Northampton Dr. at Beacon Rd. in Silver Spring when a white vehicle pulled up next to him. The driver (B/M, NFD) exited the vehicle and began punching the victim in the face. He took the victim’s cell phone. The suspect got back in his vehicle and drove down Northampton Drive.

            -On 03-08-06, at 2:00 a.m., an 18-year-old Gaithersburg man was attack in the middle of the night by a known suspect in a residence in the Unit block of W. Deer Park Rd. in Gaithersburg. The suspect was attempting to remove the victim’s wallet.

            -On 02-11-06, at 7:30 a.m., a 34 year-old Gaithersburg reported that she had been attack by 2 male suspects with masks on Quince Orchard Blvd. near Firstfield Rd. in Gaithersburg. They used a lighter to cause a slight burn on her face. There was no description of the suspects provided.

 

ARRESTS

            -On 02-15-06 at 7:10 p.m., Rigoberto Cruz, H/M, age 36, from the 1000 block of Ruatan Street in Silver Spring was arrested. He was charged with 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Disorderly Intoxication, and Failure to Obey a Reasonable and Lawful Order. The arrest was a result of an incident in the 1000 block of Ruatan Street in Silver Spring that had just occurred. 

            -On 02-11-06 at 2:30 a.m., Marcos Aguilar, H/M, age 20, from the 400 block of Girard Street in Gaithersburg was arrested. He was charged with 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, and Deadly Weapon with intent to injure. The arrest was the result of an incident in the 400 block of Girard Street that had just occurred. 

            -On 02-25-05 at 2:45 a.m., Shannon Renee Brown, W/F, age 32, from the 19600 block of Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown was arrested and charged with Burglary, Simple Assault, and Aggravated Assault. The arrest was the result of an incident in the 400 block of Beacon Hill Terrace in Gaithersburg that had just occurred. 

            -On 02-08-06 at 4:04 a.m., a 15-year-old H/M juvenile from Silver Spring was arrested. He was charged with 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, Auto Theft, Theft over $500, Theft under $500, Unauthorized used of a Motor Vehicle, Fleeing and Eluding in Vehicle, and Fleeing and Eluding on foot. The arrest was the result of an incident in the area of Dexter Avenue and  Douglas Avenue in Silver Spring that had just occurred. 

            -On 02-18-06 at 5:30 a.m., Rene Delores Nelson, B/F, age 30, from the 19600 block of Gunners Branch Road in Germantown was arrested. She was charged with 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, Wear/ Carry Deadly Weapon with intent to injure. The arrest was the result of a domestic-incident in the 19600 block of Gunners Branch Road that had just occurred.

            -On 02-16-06 at 4:20 p.m., Benjamin Gordon, B/M, age 21, from the 11400 block of Lockwood Drive in Silver Spring was arrested. He was charged with 1st Degree Assault and 2nd Degree Assault. The arrest was the result of an incident in the 11400 block of Lockwood Drive that had just occurred.

            -On 02-25-06 at 4:00 p.m., a 15-year-old B/M juvenile from Montgomery Village was arrested. He was charged with 1st Degree Assault and Possession of Tobacco by a Minor and released to his mother. The arrest was the result of a domestic-incident in Montgomery Village that had just occurred.

                        -On 02-18-06 at 1:30 a.m., Tyrone Sylvester Powell, B/M, age 40, from the 12100 block of Dalewood Drive in Silver Spring was arrested. He was charged with 1st Degree Assault, Attempted 1st Degree Assault, and 2nd Degree Assault. The arrest was the result of a domestic incident that had just occurred in the 12100 block of Dalewood Drive.

            -On 03-04-06 at 1:29 a.m., Jilber Prudencio Amayo, H/M, age 23, of the 700 block of Ludlow Street in Silver Spring was arrested and charged with rape.  The arrest was the result of an incident in the 8700 block of Barron Street in Silver Spring that had just occurred.

            -On 2-22-06 at 1:45 p.m., Maurice Dickerson, B/M, age 18, from the 3700 block of 37th Place in Brentwood and a 15-year-old B/M juvenile was arrested. They were charged with 1st Degree Burglary, Conspiracy to Commit 1st Degree Burglary, Theft over $500, and Malicious Destruction of Property. The arrests were the result of an incident in the 10200 block of Big Rock Road in Silver Spring that had just occurred.

            -On 02-14-06 at 6:00 p.m., Rafiel Eric Page, B/M, age 24, of no-fixed address, was arrested and charged with Attempted 4th Degree Burglary-Theft, Attempted 4th Degree Burglary, and two counts of False Statements to Peace Officer. The arrest was a result of an incident in the 5100 block of Keokuk Street in Bethesda.

            -On 02-19-06 at 12:13 a.m., Tyrone Pattman, B/M, age 34, from the 6800 block of Branch Avenue in Temple Hills was arrested. He was charged with Attempted Burglary, Telephone Harassment, Trespassing, and Malicious Destruction of Property under $500. The arrest was the result of an incident in the 3700 block of Stepping Stone Lane in Silver Spring that had just occurred.

            -On 02-03-06 at 12:00 p.m., Carol Kyung Kim, A/F, age 18, from the 11300 block of Harding Road in Laurel was arrested. She was charged with 4th Degree Burglary, Conspiracy for 4th Degree Burglary, and Malicious Destruction of Property over $500. The arrest was the result of an incident in the Unit block of Hidden Field Drive in Gaithersburg that had just occurred.

RESIDENTIAL

            -11200 block of South Glen Road in Potomac, between 11:00 p.m. on 03-10-06 and 4:30 a.m. on 03-12-06. Forced entry, nothing taken.

            -8000 block of Tuckerman Lane in Potomac, between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on 03-07-06. No forced entry, nothing taken.

 

2nd DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL

            -BETHESDA CRAB HOUSE, 4958 Bethesda Avenue in Bethesda, between 12:00 a.m. and 7:50 a.m. on 03-04-06. Forced entry, no property taken. 

RESIDENTIAL

            -5100 block of Scarsdale Road in Bethesda, between 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on 03-05-06. Forced entry, property taken.

            -4800 block of De Russey Parkway in Bethesda, between 12:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on 03-04-06. Forced entry, property taken.

            -5400 block of Westbard Avenue in Bethesda, between 12:00 a.m. on 02-16-06 and 5:14 p.m. on 03-08-06. Forced entry, property taken.

 

3rd DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL

            -THAYER AVENUE LIMITED PARTNERSHIP, 8241 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring, between 4:00 p.m. on 03-10-06 and 1:00 a.m. on 03-13-06. No evidence of forced entry, property taken.

            -CHEVRON GAS STATION, 8550 Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring, between 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. on 03-12-06.  Forced entry, property taken.

 

5th DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL

            -Unit block of Solitaire Court in Gaithersburg, between 12:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on 03-06-06. Forced entry, property taken.

 

6th DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL

            -18900 block of Lindenhouse Road in Gaithersburg, between 7:30 a.m. and 3:50 p.m. on 03-08-06. Forced entry, property taken.
