RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

March 17, 2005

 

ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 03-13-05, at 10:45 p.m., two suspects knocked on the victim’s (22-year-old female from Damascus) door.  After opening the door, the two suspects forced their way in, displayed guns and demanded money.    The victim and her daughter were able to escape out a window and were not injured.  Cash was obtained.
          -Suspect #1 – B/M, 20’s, 5’8”, 160 lbs., neoprene black mask, dark hooded sweatshirt and gray pants.
            -Suspect #2 – B/M, 20’s, 6’1”, skinny, blue jeans and a hard hood sweatshirt.           

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 03-14-05, at 1:30 p.m., a 17-year-old from Washington, DC was walking in the 1700 block of Powder Mill Road, when the suspect approached, operating a black Honda, and engaged the victim in a conversation.  As the victim walked away, the suspect exited his car, and took the victim’s coat.  After obtaining the coat, the suspect fled the scene in the Honda.
          -Suspect #1 – B/M, 23, 5’10, 170 lbs., long black hair, mustache, mole on face, wearing blue jeans and a black t-shirt.           

            -On 03-15-05, at 7:15 p.m., 26-year-old female from Germantown was in the 19800 block of Frederick Road when the suspect approached her from behind and grabbed her purse. The victim struggled and was knocked to the ground, sustaining minor injuries.  Suspect fled towards the Fox Chapel Shopping Center.
            Suspect #1 – B/M, 20’s, 5’7” – 5’8”, 180 lbs., brown eyes, braided black hair, wearing black jacket, scruffy looking. 

            -On 03-15-05, at 3:15 p.m., a 15-year-old male from Takoma Park was walking in a field to the rear of Sligo Elementary School, 8300 Carroll Avenue, when he was approached by the three suspects who were wearing black masks.  Suspect #1 punched the victim knocking him to the ground.  There was a struggle and the suspects took a cell phone and cash and fled towards Carroll Avenue. The victim sustained minor injuries.
           -Suspect #1 – unknown race male, teen, 5’9”, 160 lbs., black mask, black t-shirt, blue jeans and black sneakers.
          -Suspect #2 – unknown race male, teen, 5’10”, 175 lbs., black mask, black t-shirt, black sweat pants, brown Timberland boots.
          -Suspect #3 – H/M, teen, 5’7”, 140 lbs., black mask, black baseball hat with blazes.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 

            -On 03-14-05, at 1:55 p.m., a 26-year-old male was standing in the 500 block of Lincoln Street in Rockville.  Suspect #1, whom the victim knows, drove up in a Silver Honda Accord coupe with tinted windows.  Suspect #2, whom the victim knows by a nickname, was a passenger in the car, yelled at the victim and advised that he had a gun.  The Suspects left in an unknown direction. The investigation is continuing. 

            -On 03-10-05 at 4:15, a 27-year-old female from Gaithersburg contacted the police and advised that she had been assaulted earlier in the day by her live-in boyfriend with a knife. The assault occurred in their residence on N. Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg.  The investigation continues.

 

RAPE 

            -On 03-14-05, a 31-year-old Germantown female was inside her residence when she was sexually assaulted by her husband.  They had been arguing prior to this incident.  The investigation is continuing. 

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT ARREST 

            -On 03-14-05, a 13-year-old juvenile male from Germantown was arrested and charged with First Degree Assault for an assault with a BB gun that occurred earlier in the day at Roberto Clemente Middle School.

 

BURGLARY ARREST 

            -On 03-15-05, Lawrence Carlton Alexander, 37, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with 4th Degree Burglary and Possession of CDS paraphernalia.  The arrest was the result of an incident in the 4000 block of Plyers Mill Road in Kensington. 

            -On 03-10-05, Brian Christopher Raiford, 32, no fixed address was arrested and charged with Burglary, Malicious Destruction of Property and violation of an Ex-Parte order.  The arrest was the result of an incident that occurred in the 18400 block of Stonegate Terrace in the Stonegate area of Silver Spring and the 5900 block of Montrose Road in Rockville. 

            -On 03-12-05, Ryan Crutchfield, 27, of the 11800 block of Eton Manor Drive in Germantown was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Burglary, two counts of 2nd Degree Assault, Resisting Arrest, Trespassing on Private Property, Malicious Destruction of Property over $500.00, and Disorderly Conduct.  The arrest was the result of an incident that occurred in the 11500 block of Sir Spence Way in Germantown.

RESIDENTIAL 

            -3900 block of Oliver Street in Chevy Chase, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on 03-10-05.  Unknown method of entry, property taken.

            -6000 block of Dellwood Place in Bethesda, between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on 03-14-05.  Forced entry, nothing taken.   

 

3rd DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL 

            -CRESTHAVEN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 1234 Cresthaven Drive in the Hillandale Heights community of Silver Spring, between 8:00 p.m. on 03-11-05 and 11:30 a.m. on 03-14-05.  Forced entry, nothing taken. 

RESIDENTIAL 

            -10300 block of Castlehedge Terrace in the Forest Estates area of Silver Spring, between 2:00 p.m. on 02-28-05 and 5:00 p.m. on 03-14-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

 

4th DISTRICT 

            -3500 block of Singers Glen Drive in Olney, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:40 p.m. on 03-09-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -3500 block of Dartmoor Lane in Olney, between 7:40 a.m. and 3:20 p.m. on 03-09-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -3500 block of Dartmoor Lane in Olney, between 7:30 a.m. and 5:56 p.m. on 03-09-05.  Forced entry, Property taken.

            -18300 block of Dutchess Drive in Olney; between 8:00 a.m. and3:50 p.m. on 03-10-05.  Forced entry, nothing taken.

            -18300 block of Dutchess Drive in Olney, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on 03-11-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -3600 block of Patrick Henry Drive in Olney, between 8:40 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on 03-08-05.  Forced entry, nothing taken.

            -3100 block of Fairweather Court in Olney, between 8:00 a.m. and 6:25 p.m. on 03-14-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -3700 block of Gawayne Terrace in the Aspen Hill area of Silver Spring, between 1:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on 03-15-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -4300 block of Aspen Hill Road in Rockville, between 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on 03-10-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -10400 block of Huntley Avenue in the Cameron Heights area of Silver Spring, between 12:00 a.m. on 03-09-05 and 1:00 a.m. on 03-11-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -100 block of Lazy Hollow Drive in Gaithersburg, between 11:30 a.m. and d3:00 p.m. on 03-11-05.  Forced entry, nothing taken.

            -100 block of Swarthmore Avenue in Gaithersburg, between 2:00 p.m. on 03-07-05 and 7:00 p.m. on 03-11-05.  Unknown method of entry, property taken.
