RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

March 24, 2005

 

RAPE 

           -On 03-19-05, at 3:00 p.m., a 22-year-old Montgomery Village female reported that she had been raped at residence in Laytonsville.  The suspect is known and the investigation is continuing.  

ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 03-19-05, at 8:45 a.m., an employee of Custom Crafters, 4000 Howard Avenue in Kensington, had just opened the business and went to the second floor, when he heard the front doorbell.  As the victim went to the door, he observed the suspect at the top of the steps with a knife.  The suspect demanded money, and then swung the knife, cutting the victim.  The suspect did not obtain any money, and was last seen running out the front door.  The victim was treated and released from a local hospital.  The suspect is described as a black male, 14 to 15, 5’7” to 5’8” tall, thin build, with brown eyes and short black hair in corn-rows, wearing black sweatpants and a dark-colored, down jacket.   

ATTEMPT STRONG ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 03-14-05, at 2:30 p.m., a 15-year-old Germantown male was walking with a friend on Crystal Rock Drive at Crystal Rock Court, when they were approached by two suspects.   Both suspects went through the victim’s clothing looking for money.  The victim fought back and fell to the curb.  As the victim lay on the ground, the suspects punched him.  The suspects fled when citizens drove by.  The suspects’ identifies are known and the investigation is continuing.   

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 

            -On 03-19-05, at 11:00 p.m., a Wheaton female (age unknown) was assaulted by a co-worker in the parking lot of Dave & Busters at White Flint Mall in Bethesda.  The victim and suspect had a physical altercation earlier in the evening.  The victim was struck in the back of the head and then in the mouth.  The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.  The suspect’s identity is known and the investigation is continuing.

-On 03-21-05, at 6:15 p.m., a 28-year-old Gaithersburg male was in the parking lot of the unit block of E. Diamond Avenue in Gaithersburg, when he got into an argument with the suspect.  The suspect pushed the victim to the ground, held him down, and cut the victim’s face and stabbed him.  The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.  The suspect is known and the investigation is continuing. 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT ARREST

            -On 03-22-05, Candido Medina, 49, of the 19500 block of Transhire Rd. in Montgomery Village,  was arrested and charged with Attempted 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, Malicious Destruction of Property, and Reckless Endangerment.  The arrest was the result of an incident that occurred at the family residence in Montgomery Village. 

PEEPING TOM ARREST

 

            -On 03-20-05, Robert Arthur Lindsay, 61, of the 11800 block of Mentone Rd. in Silver Spring, was arrested and charged with Peeping Tom – Trespass and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia – Marijuana.  The arrest was the result of an incident that had just occurred in the 12500 block of Village Square Ter. in Rockville.

 

BURGLARY ARREST

            -On 03-21-05, Darius Alonzo Williams, 23, of the 12300 block of Featherwood Dr. in Silver Spring, was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Burglary.  The arrest was the result of a burglary that had just occurred in the 12400 block of Loft Lane in the Rolling Acres area of Silver Spring.

COMMERCIAL 

            -HONG KONG RESTAURANT, 10510 Connecticut Avenue in Kensington, 3:15 a.m. on 03-20-05.  Forced entry, nothing taken.   

RESIDENTIAL           

            -5200 block of Hampden Lane in Bethesda, at 3:20 p.m. on 03-17-05.  Entry made, no force, property taken.

            -10600 block of Weymouth Street in Bethesda, between 7:15 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. on 03-17-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -10600 block of Kenilworth Avenue in Bethesda, between 8:00 a.m. on 03-17-05 and 12:42 a.m. on 03-20-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -5000 block of Del Ray Avenue in Bethesda, between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on 03-19-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

-Unit block of Lenox Street in Chevy Chase, between 5:00 a.m. on 03-10-05 and 9:30 p.m. on 03-13-05.  Attempt only.  

3rd DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL 

            -9700 block of Forest Grove Drive in the Forest Estates are of Silver Spring, between 12:10 p.m. and 4:40 p.m. on 03-22-04.  Forced entry, property taken.  

6th DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL 

            - MNO EXTERIOR APPLICATORS, 948 Quince Orchard Road, in Gaithersburg, in the parking garage, between 3:30 p.m. on 03-18-05 and 7:30 a.m. on 03-21-05.  Forced entry, property taken.
