March 25, 2004 

 

ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 03-17-04, at 9:52 a.m., the Ku’s Reliable Dry Cleaning store, located at 4 Carters Grove Ct. in Silver Spring was robbed. A lone suspect (B/M, 20s, 6’2”, 160 lbs., blue jeans, dark grey pullover hooded sweatshirt, gloves, dark complexion) entered the store and implied he had a gun. The suspect took money from the register and left through the front door. 

            -On 03-17-04, at 7:45 p.m., a 53-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman from Silver Spring were victims of an armed robbery in the 2800 block of Schubert Drive in Silver Spring.  Two suspects approached the victims, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. The victims complied.  The both suspects were black males, 16-20 years, 5’10”, 150-160 pounds, wearing dark clothing. The suspects were seen getting into an unknown type car near Trumpet Place. 

            -On 03-19-04, at 3:36 a.m., a 46-year-old woman, a 15-year-old youth, and a 20-year-old man were victims of a residential armed robbery in the 900 block of Clopper Road in Gaithersburg.  The victims answered a knock at the door and four suspects forced their way in.  They demanded money and the victims complied.  The suspects left in an unknown direction.  The first suspect was a black female, 20-29 years, wearing dark clothing.  The second suspect was a black male, 20-29 years, 5’6”, 160 pounds, wearing dark clothing. The third and fourth suspects were black males, 20-29 years, 6’2”, 200 pounds, wearing dark clothing. 

            -On 03-17-04, at 11:00 p.m., a 55 year-old Silver Spring man was the victim of an armed robbery in the 3600 block of Bel Pre Rd. in Silver Spring.  Two suspects approached the victim and demanded money.  The victim complied.  The suspects left in an unknown direction.  The first was a black male, 16-17 years, 5’10” to 6’0”, 160 pounds, armed with a knife, and was wearing dark clothing.  The second suspect was a black male, 18-20 years, 5’11” to 6’0”, 170-180 pounds, armed with a knife, and was also wearing dark clothing. 

            -On 03-20-04, at 3:23 a.m., the 7-Eleven Store, located at 19235 Watkins Mill Rd. in Gaithersburg was robbed. Three suspects entered the store and Suspect #1 (B/M, 5’5”-5’10”, 150-180 lbs., black hoody, sweat top, black pants) pulled out a black handgun and demanded all the cash from both registers. The suspects obtained the cash and fled the store on foot, towards the Giant Shopping Center and then back towards Club House Road. The other 2 suspects were described the same as Suspect #1. 

            -On 03-18-04, at 12:30 a.m., a 17 year-old Gaithersburg youth the victim of an armed robbery on Girard Street and Victory Farm Drive in Gaithersburg.  The suspect approached the victim, displayed a knife, and demanded money. The victim complied.  The suspect was described as a white male, 5’9”, 150-160 pounds, wearing a gray sweatshirt, and jeans.  The suspect was seen walking towards East Diamond Avenue. 

-On 03-20-04, at 3:23 a.m., the 7-11 Store, 19235 Watkins Mill Rd., in Gaithersburg, was robbed.  Three suspects entered the store, approached the counter, and displayed a handgun.  They demanded money and the clerk complied.  The suspects then walked out of the store in an unknown direction.  Two suspects were described as black males, 5’5” to 5’10”, 150-180 pounds, wearing dark clothing.  No description was provided for the third suspect. 

            -On 03-18-04, at 10:52 p.m., a 33 year-old Hyattsville man was the victim of an armed robbery in the 9200 block of New Hampshire Ave. in Silver Spring.  Two suspects approached the victim; one displayed a knife, and demanded money.  The victim turned and ran before the suspects obtained any property.  The first suspect was a black male, 20-25 years, 6’0”, 160 pounds, wearing dark clothing.  The second suspect was a black male, 20-25 years, 5’8”, 140-150 pounds, wearing dark clothing.  

            -On 03-21-04, at 12:30 a.m., a 34-year-old man was the victim of robbery in the 300 block of E. Diamond Avenue in Gaithersburg.  The suspect approached the victim from behind and placed an unknown object to the back of his head and demanded money.  The victim complied.  The suspect was described as black male, 17-19 years, 5’8”, 180-190 pounds, wearing dark clothing.

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 03-21-04, at 1:25 a.m., a 20 year-old Silver Spring man was the victim of a strong arm robbery in the 8800 block of Piney Branch Rd. in Silver Spring.  Five suspects approached the victim.  One suspect punched the victim and took money from him.  The suspects were described as black males, 17-20 years of age.  All the suspects were seen heading towards Quebec Terrace.  

            -On 03-16-04, at 10:21 p.m., the 7-11 Store, located at 650 University Blvd. E. in Silver Spring was robbed. A lone suspect (Hispanic/M, 25-35, 5’5”, 130 lbs., distinct cross eyed, yellow backpack) entered the store and began to place items in his backpack. A female clerk in the store confronted him and a struggle ensued. The suspect wrestled the backpack from the victim and dragged her to the door. He then fled on foot in an unknown direction.  The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 25-35 years, 5’5”, 130 pounds, with a yellow backpack.

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY/ARREST 

            -On 03-19-04, a 15-year-old Greenbelt juvenile was arrested and charged with Robbery.  The arrest was the result of an incident in the 700 block of Quince Orchard Blvd. in Gaithersburg. 

            -On 03-12-04, Oscar Hernandez, age 18, of the 13100 block of Holdridge Rd. in Wheaton, was arrested and charged with Robbery, Theft Under $500, and Second-Degree Assault.  The arrest was the result of an incident in the 12300 block of Goodhill Rd., in Wheaton.  ***Previous release written on this incident.***

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 

            -On 03-18-04, at 7:00 p.m., a 17-year-old Poolesville youth was the victim of an aggravated assault near the intersection of West Willard Road and Fisher Avenue in Poolesville.  The suspect demanded money from the victim then knocked him to the ground.  The suspect then began to stomp on the victim.  A car approached and the suspect walked away.  The victim was treated a local hospital for his injuries. The suspect was a black male, 25 years, 6’3”, 165 pounds, wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans. 

            -On 03-18-04, at 2:45 p.m., a 12-year-old Germantown youth was the victim of an aggravated assault near the intersection of Germantown Road and Scenery Drive in Germantown.  The victim was walking when he was shot with a BB type weapon.  The suspect was described as a black male, 15-16 years, 5’0”, 100 pounds, wearing a blue shirt and dark-colored pants.  The victim did not require medical attention. 

            -On 03-21-04, at 1:30 a.m., an 18-year-old Lanham woman was the victim of an aggravated assault in the 8500 block of Colesville Rd., in Silver Spring.  The victim was struck in the leg with an unknown object.  She was treated and released at a local hospital. No suspect description was provided.

            -11700 block of Flints Grove Lane, Gaithersburg, between 11:00 p.m. on 03-15-04 and 8:15 a.m. on 03-16-04.  Entered home, computer equipment, wallet, camera equipment

            -11400 block of S. Glen Rd., Potomac, between 11:00 p.m. on 03-16-04 and 6:45 a.m. on 03-17-04.  Entered home, unknown what was taken.

            -9500 block of Lost Trail Way, Potomac, between 11:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on 03-16-04.  Entered home, jewelry and money taken.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -10900 block of Newport Mill Rd., Kensington, between 11:00 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. on 03-16-04. Unlocked window, TV, MP3 player, and saw taken.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -500 block of Deerfield Ave., Silver Spring, between 11:45 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. on 03-17-04.  Forced open door, X-Box Game system and games taken.

            -4200 block of Leatherwood Terr., Burtonsville, at 7:01 p.m. on 03-20-04.  Kicked in door, unknown what was taken.

            -12300 block of Featherwood Dr., Silver Spring, between 10:15 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on 03-20-04.  Entered home, musical equipment, Playstation games, DVDs taken, compact discs, and money taken.

            -8500 block of Springvale Rd. Silver Spring, between 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on 03-17-04.  Entered home, Playstation, X-Box, games, and computer equipment taken.

            -11300 block of Columbia Pike, Silver Spring, between 10:00 a.m. on 03-16-04 and 12:44 a.m. on 03-17-04.  Pried open door, DVDs and Playstation games taken.

            -1100 block of Loxford Terr., Silver Spring, between 9:40 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on 03-17-04.  Forced open door, money taken.

            -9500 block of Midwood Rd., Silver Spring, between 6:50 p.m. and 7:02 p.m. on 03-17-04.  Broke through window, unknown what was taken.

            -2200 block of Glenallen Ave., Wheaton, between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on 03-12-04. Pried open door, DVDs, CDs, Nintendo and games, Playstation and games, and cologne taken.

            -4600 block of Adrian St., Rockville, at 8:17 p.m. on 03-11-04.  Forced open door, unknown what was taken.

            -3000 block of Collins Ave., Wheaton, between 10:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on 03-15-04.  Entered home, recorder and money taken.
