RECENT CRIME SUMMARY
March 28,
2006
ARMED ROBBERY
-On 03-18-06, at 9:35 p.m., a 44-year-old
Silver Spring man was in the 1400 block of Pillock Place in Silver
Spring and was approached by a suspect. The suspect displayed a gun.
When residents yelled from inside a house, the suspect fled to a
dark colored car and got into the passenger side. It pulled away
towards Windmill and Good Hope Road.
-Suspect #1 – Unknown/M, 5’7”-5’8”, 160-170 lbs., thin,
black hooded sweatshirt, black ski mask/hat, black slacks, black
gloves.
-On 03-20-06,
at 9:15 p.m., a 28-year-old Silver Spring woman and a 33-year-old
Hyattsville man were sitting in their car on 13th St. by
the Days Inn in Silver Spring when 2 black males approached from the
rear and opened the front passenger door. Suspect #1 displayed a gun
and demanded the woman’s purse. She complied. The suspects drove
away and the victims followed them into the District. The suspect
fired a weapon at this point.
-Suspect #1 – B/M, 16-18, 6’0”, 180 lbs., blue jeans,
black jacket.
-Suspect #2 – B/M, 16-18, 6’0”, 180 lbs.
-On 03-20-06, at 9:00 p.m., a 36-year-old
Silver Spring woman was at the rear parking lot in thee 8200 block
of Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring when a suspect approached her from
behind. The suspect displayed a black handgun and demanded the
victim’s purse. The victim complied and the suspect fled on foot
into the stairwell of the Metro garage.
-Suspect #1 – B/M, 18-22, 5’8”-5’10”, 170-180 lbs.,
braids, blue jeans, black jacket, black mask.
-On 03-19-06, at 10:45 p.m., a
48-year-old Silver Spring man was in the parking lot at the Blair
House Apartment in the 8100 block of Eastern St. in Silver Spring
when 3 suspects approached and demanded money. The victim said he
had none. One suspect grabbed the victim. Another victim struck the
victim in the face. The suspects took cash from the victim’s
vehicle’s console.
-Suspect #1 – B/M, 23-27, black jacket, blue baseball
hat.
-Suspect #2 – B/M, 23-27, Blue sweatshirt with white
stripe on the bottom
-Suspect #3 – B/M, 23-27, NFD
-On 03-16-06,
at 1:00 p.m., a 22 year–old Gaithersburg man was walking in the area
near the pool in the Cider Mill Apt. complex in the 18000 block of
Lost Knife Circle in Gaithersburg when Suspect #1 approached and
grabbed him from behind and displayed a knife. Suspect #2 took a
cell phone and his wallet. There was a 3rd man acting as
a lookout.
-Suspect #1 – B/M, 18-20, 5’5”, 140 lbs., black puffy
jacket.
-Suspect #2 – B/M, 18-20, 5’11”, blue puffy jacket,
black backpack
-Suspect #3 – B/M, 18-20, white t-shirt, NFD
-On 03-13-06, at 1:00 a.m., a 36 year-old
Gaithersburg man was walking along Muddy Branch Rd. at Diamondback
Dr. in Gaithersburg when he was approached by 2 unknown Hispanic
males wearing black face masks and casual clothing. They each
displayed a knife and took the victim’s wallet. The suspects then
fled in the direction of Diamondback Drive. There was no description
of the suspects provided.
ATTEMPT ROBBERY
-On 03-18-06, at 1:06 p.m., the CVS
Pharmacy, located at 8 W. Middle Lane in Rockville was the scene of
an attempted robbery. A lone suspect entered the store and passed a
note to the clerk claiming that she had a gun and demanded
prescription drugs. The victim said she had none and the suspect
left the store and fled on foot in an unknown direction.
-Suspect #1 – B/F, 20s, 5’6”, 130 lbs., gray scarf and
shirt, red vest.
STRONG ARM ROBBERY
-On 03-20-06, at 1:45 a.m., a 25-year-old
Germantown woman was in the 8800 block of Wellbeck Circle in
Montgomery Village when she was grabbed from behind by a suspect and
thrown to the ground on her driveway. The victim’s dog appeared and
chased the suspect away. No property was taken.
-Suspect #1 – black jeans, black hooded sweatshirt,
black mask and bandana.
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
-On 03-21-06, at 8:20 a.m., a 57-year-old
Gaithersburg man was at work at Express Rent-A-Car in the 600 block
of S. Frederick Ave. in Gaithersburg when a suspect entered the
business and displayed a gun. He said he wanted to get in the
business next door, which is a check cashing business. The suspects
fled when an alarm went off. Nothing was taken.
-Suspect #1 – Hispanic/M, 30-35, 5’8”-5’10”, 155-160
lbs., blue coat, tan pants, blue hat.
-Suspect #2 – H/M, 30-35, 5’08”-5’10”, 140-160 lbs.
-On 03-18-06, at 2:00 p.m., a 25-year-old
Silver Spring man and a friend were in the 1000 block of Quebec
Terrace in Silver Spring when 5-10 black males approached and began
to say something. The victims walked away but the suspects followed.
Three shots were fired and the victim was hit. He was transported to
a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The friend was
able to drag his friend to a residence in the 1000 block of Quebec
Terrace, before the police were called.
-On 03-20-06, at 3:00 p.m., a domestic
incident occurred in the 13000 block of
Broadmore Rd. in Silver Spring. The known suspect produced a knife
and tried to cut the victim. When he left the house, he then smashed
the windshield of the victim’s car.
-Suspect #1 – B/M, 26-27, 5’9”-5’10”, 120-135 lbs.,
thin, black shirt, blue jeans.
