STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 03-26-04, at 8:00 p.m., a 17 year-old Hyattsville man was in the area of Flower Ave. and E. Wayne Ave. in Silver Spring when he was approached by 2 male suspects and 1 female suspect. Suspect #1 (Hispanic/M, 28-30, 5’7”, 170 lbs., long hair, white polo shirt, blue jeans, glasses) asked for a cigarette and then grabbed the victim.  Suspect #2 (Hispanic/M, 20-30, 5’9”, 150 lbs., short hair, white polo shirt, blue jeans) reached into the victim’s pants and took a wallet and cash. The female suspect (Hispanic/F, 15-16, 5’3”, 90 lbs., long black hair, black clothes) was not involved in the robbery. All suspects fled down Flower Ave. toward Piney Branch Road. Another victim was accosted a short time later in the same general area.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 

            -On 03-26-04, at 2:10 p.m., police responded to the Safeway Store on Thayer Ave. in Silver Spring for the report of a shoplifting. A suspect (B/M, 40-45, 5’8”-5’10”, goatee, green Army fatigues, black hat) was observed by the security guard placing items in a bag. When the guard approached the suspect, the suspect pulled a knife and tried to stab the victim’s arm. The suspect escaped in an unknown direction. All items were recovered.

1ST DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -8700 block of Tuckerman Lane in Potomac, at 1:49 p.m. on 03-11-04. Opened window, nothing taken.

            -15500 block of Quail Run Dr. in N. Potomac, between 2:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. on 03-29-04. Rear door entry, cash, palm pilot, pocket book taken.

            -19500 block of Whirlaway Lane in Potomac, between 10:00 p.m. on 03-28-04 and 3:10 a.m. on 03-29-04. Garage door entry, CDs taken.

 

2ND DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

           -5600 block of Bent Branch Rd. in Bethesda, between 4:00 a.m. on 03-19-04 and 3:00 a.m. on 03-26-04. Pried open garage door, jewelry, vehicle taken.

            -6800 block of Tulip Hill Terrace in Bethesda, between 7:45 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. on 03-25-04. Pried frame on rear window, cash taken.

            -5200 block of Augusta St. in Bethesda, between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on 03-23-04. Pried frame on rear door, DVD player taken.

            -6500 block of E. Halbert Rd. in Bethesda, between 3:45 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. on 03-27-04. Broke through rear door, nothing taken.

 

3RD DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -1700 block of Pricilla Dr. in Silver Spring, between 7:30 a.m. and 5:50 p.m. on 03-26-04. Climbed through basement door, jewelry box taken.

            -7500 block of Alfred Dr. in Silver Spring, between 8:00 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. on 03-26-04. Broke through rear window, jewelry, computer, lockbox taken.

            -11600 block of Lockwood Dr. in Silver Spring, between 7:00 p.m. and 9:05 p.m. on 03-21-04. Broke through front window, sneakers and caps taken.

            -13600 block of Colgate Way in Silver Spring, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on 03-24-04. Entry through balcony, Playstation and games taken.

            -500 block of Deerfield Ave. in Silver Spring, between 7:45 and 6:30 p.m. on 03-25-04. Climbed through rear window, unknown amount taken.

 

4TH DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -1300 block of Mimosa Lane in Silver Spring, between 2:00 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. on 03-22-04. Twist knob on rear door, nothing taken.

            -1300 block of Swingdale Dr. in Silver Spring, between 9:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on 03-25-04. Forced open rear basement door, camcorder, DVD player, Playstation, games taken.

 

5TH DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -11200 block of Sibley Terrace in Germantown, between 9:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on 03-26-04. Broke through front door, nothing taken.

            -18100 block of Stags Leap Terrace, between 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on 03-25-04. Broke through rear window, DVDs, safes, cash taken.

 

BURGLARY ARREST 

            -On 03-28-04, Joey Negron, age 21, no fixed address, was arrested and charged with trespassing and 4th degree burglary.  The arrest was a result of a forced entry into an unoccupied apartment in the 11400 block of Stewart Lane in Silver Spring.
