RECENT CRIME SUMMARY
April 3, 2006
ARMED ROBBERY
-On 03-24-06, at 7:25 p.m., a 21-year-old
Gaithersburg woman was walking in the area of Shadow Oak Dr. and
Forest View Place in Gaithersburg when a suspect came out of the
bushes and displayed a gun. He demanded her property and she
complied. The suspect then fled on-foot down the hill toward the
town homes.
-Suspect #1 – black ski mask, black Northface jacket,
black long slacks.
-On 03-24-06, at 8:50 p.m., a 47-year-old
Silver Spring man was walking in the 11300 block of Columbia Pike in
White Oak when he noticed 4 suspects following him. Suspect #2 came
up to him from behind and struck him in the head with an unknown
object. The victim ran away, but Suspect #1 caught up with him at
his apartment. He produced a handgun and demanded money. The victim
said he had none. The suspects fled.
-Suspect #1 – long dark sweatshirt.
-Suspect #2 – long gray sweatshirt.
-Suspect # 3 – 4 NFD
-On 03-24-06, at 12:45 a.m., a 27
year-old Takoma Park man was at a Shell station on Piney Branch Rd.
in Silver Spring when a blue Dodge Neon with Va. Temporary tags
pulled up with 3 suspects inside. Suspect #1 approached the victim
with a gun. Suspects #2 and #3 searched the victim. They took his
wallet and cash. The suspects then fled in their vehicle followed by
the victim. He lost them in Langley Park.
-Suspect #1 – Hispanic/M, 26-27, 5’8”, 200 lbs.,
muscular, multicolored shirt, blue jeans.
-Suspect #2 – Hispanic/M, 15-16, 5’5”, 11 lbs., black
jacket.
-Suspect #3 NFD
-On 03-26-06, at
3:40 p.m., a 24-year-old Gaithersburg man was walking on W. Diamond
Ave. near Perry Parkway in Gaithersburg when a suspect approached
from behind. The suspect produced a knife and demanded money. The
victim handed over some cash and a credit card. The suspect then
fled towards Bureau Drive.
-Suspect #1 – W/M, 20-40, 6’0”-6’2”, 175-185 lbs.,
stubble blue jeans, white tennis shoes, brown jacket.
-On 03-26-06, at 12:21 a.m., a
30-year-old Silver Spring man was in the 8600 block of Manchester
Rd. in Silver Spring when a suspect approached and demanded
property. The suspect pointed a knife at him. The victim said he had
no money and then fled the area on foot.
-Suspect #1 – NFD
STRONG ARM ROBBERY
-On 03-25-06, at 10:35 p.m., a
29-year-old Germantown woman was walking in the area of Duchin Dr.
and McFarlin Dr. in Germantown when she passed a gold Ford Escort
with Md. tags with 6 suspects inside. Suspect #1 grabbed her purse
and tried to take it away. A struggle ensued and the victim was able
to keep her purse. The suspect re-entered the vehicle and bumped the
victim as it left the scene.
-Suspects #1 – 6 all described as B/M, 16-17, black
skull cap.
-On 03-26-06, at 12:01 a.m., police
responded to the Shady Grove Hospital for the report of a
21-year-old Gaithersburg man who was extremely intoxicated and
uncooperative. He had severe injuries to his face. Little
information was obtained about the assault/robbery. The
investigation is continuing.
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
-On 03-24-06, at 1:10 p.m., a 23-year-old
male with no fixed address came out of a building in the 8600 block
of Piney Branch Rd. in Silver Spring with his pants soaked with
blood. He told police he had been stabbed by his friend in front of
the park. He was transported to the local hospital with serious
injuries. No further information was given.
-On 03-26-06, at 2:20 a.m., a 31-year-old
Silver Spring man was at an unknown address on Beacon Rd. in Silver
Spring when he got into an argument with a known suspect. The victim
was hit in the face with a beer bottle by the suspect. The victim
with transported to the local hospital with non-life-threatening
injuries.
-On 03-22-06, at
3:00 p.m., a 16-year-old Silver Spring student was walking on New
Hampshire Ave. in Silver Spring with a friend when something hit him
in the chest. It appeared to be fired from a passing vehicle. Later,
the victim noticed he was bleeding and ended up at the local
hospital where it was determined it was a BB gun wound. Further
investigation revealed that 4 suspects were in the car and 2 of them
have been positively identified. The investigation is continuing.
