RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

April 18, 2006

 

ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 04-12-06, at 10:00 p.m., a 33-year-old Gaithersburg man was in a parking lot in the Unit block of Bureau Dr. in Gaithersburg behind Jerry’s Sub shop when a suspect approached from behind. The suspect was armed with an  unknown object and demanded money. The victim handed over cash and the suspect ran off in an unknown direction.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, black hooded sweatshirt, black sweat pants.

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 04-06-06, at 2:00 p.m., a 15-year-old male Bethesda student was walking in the area of Pyle Rd. and Landon Lane in Bethesda when a suspect approached him and knocked his phone out of his hand. Another suspect appeared on the scene and a fight ensued. The victim threw Suspect #1 down a hill. At this point the victim ran away.
            -Suspect #1 – W/M, 15-18, 6’3”, 160-170 lbs., long blond hair, red T-shirt, blue jeans, black baseball hat.
            -Suspect #2 – W/M, 15-18, 6’3”, 160-170, wearing blue jeans, white T-shirt.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 

            -On 04-13-06, at 1:00 a.m., a 16-year-old Bethesda woman was sitting in her vehicle on Mountain Gate Dr. in Bethesda with 2 male friends when a silver SUV drove by and someone fired a BB gun into the victim’s car striking the female in the nose.  The suspect or suspects are totally unknown. 

            -On 04-12-06, at 9:00 p.m., a 16-year-old Germantown girl reported that she had been to a party at an unknown location in Germantown and had got into an altercation with a 19-year-old female. The suspect struck the victim in the eye with a blunt object. The victim was uncooperative.
            -Suspect #1 – W/F, 19

RAPE 

            -On 04-15-06, at 2:30 a.m., a 36-year-old Poolesville woman reported that she was assaulted by a known suspect in her home. The suspect’s identity is known and the investigation is continuing.

 

ARRESTS 

            -On 04-12-06, at 11:07 a.m., Arthur Franklin Bruce, III, age 25, of the 17100 block of Downing St. in Gaithersburg was arrested and charged with strong arm robbery. Also charged were Mark Anthony Hawkins, age 19, of the 100 block of Ames St. in Silver Spring and Jessica Christian Castro, age 20, of the 19500 block of White Saddle Dr. in Germantown. The arrests were a result of a robbery that had just occurred in the 8200 block of Piney Branch Rd. in Silver Spring. 

            -On 04-12-06, at 10:00 a.m., Abdulwahabi Omoobolahan Sarumi, age 23, no fixed address, was arrested and charged with attempt strong arm robbery and 2nd degree assault. The arrest was a result of an attempted robbery of a woman in the 1000 block of Ripley St. in Silver Spring that had just occurred. 

            -On 04-11-06, at 10:441 p.m., Luis Quinteros, age 32, of the 8100 block of Tahona Dr. in Siler Spring was arrested and charged with attempted manslaughter, 2nd degree assault, reckless endangerment, and malicious destruction of property. He was also charged with a variety of additional traffic charges. The arrest was a result of an assault and battery involving a motor vehicle in the area of the 10100 block of Dexter Ave. in Silver Spring that had just occurred. 

            -On 04-12-06, at 9:00 p.m., Zengui Goma Die, age 40, of the 8000 block of Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring was arrested and charged with 1st and 2nd degree assault. The arrest was a result of a domestic dispute that had just occurred.

 

BURGLARY ARREST 

            -On 04-11-06, at 10:18 a.m., a 16 year-old male juvenile from Silver Spring was arrested and charged with burglary. The arrest was a result of a burglary at an apartment in the 1700 block of Mt. Pisgah Lane in Silver Spring that had just occurred.
