April 20, 2004 

           

ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 04-19-04, at 4:46 a.m., the 7-11 Store, located at 11303 Lockwood Dr. in Silver Spring was robbed. A lone suspect (W/M, 20-24, 4’8”-4’10”, black jacket with hood, black mask with cutouts, black pants, black shoes) entered the store and brandished a small firearm. He leaped over the counter and demanded the clerk open the register. The victim complied and handed over cash. The suspect ran out of the store and turned into the Popeyes parking lot next door. 

            -On 04-02-04, at 10:50 p.m., a 54-year-old Montgomery Village woman was leaving for work from her Montgomery Village home when she was approached by a suspect while packing her car. The suspect (6’0”, thin, brown jacket with hood and fur) was holding a knife and demanded her purse. The victim complied and the suspect fled toward Montgomery Village Ave. from Walkers Choice on-foot.

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 04-13-04, at 9:38 p.m., a 30-year-old Wheaton woman arrived at her residence in the 10800 block of Amherst Ave. and backed into her parking space. She observed a suspect (B/M, 28-32, 5’6”-5’7”, 150-160 lbs., short black hair, possible mustache, oversized grey jacket, baggy jeans, knit hat) walk towards her and demanded her keys.  When she refused the suspect hit her in the head with his fist. He took her car keys and drove off in her 1998 Acura, 2.3 CL, 2 door, green, with Md. tags. 

            -On 04-14-04, at 3:53 a.m., The 7-11 Store, located at 29 Olney-Sandy Spring Rd. in Ashton was robbed. Two suspects (W/M, 5’8”-6’0”, 135-150 lbs., black clothing, one with black mask the other with white scream mask) entered the store and one of the suspects displayed a knife. They ripped out 2 cash registers and took boxes of cigarettes. Both suspects fled out the front door and fled on foot towards the 17900 block of Ashton Club Way. 

            -On 04-09-04, Ludlow Peter King, age 24, of the 8900 block of Potomac Station Lane in Potomac was arrested and charged with robbery and 2nd degree assault. The arrest was a result of an incident in the men’s room of the theater on Wisconsin Ave. where the defendant robbed a “friend”.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 

            -On 04-11-04, at 8:00 p.m., a 19-year-old Silver Spring woman opened her residential door to 3 suspects in the 2400 block of Lyttonsville Road. Two female suspects and one male suspect entered the home and started a knife fight. During the fight, the victim proceeded to stab herself. The suspects all fled the scene and got into a reddish-orange sports car. The vehicle has 2 doors and a third smaller door on the driver side. 

            -On 04-10-04, at 10:44 a.m., Tyechia Patrice Scott, a 21-year-old female, was arrested and charged with 1st and 2nd degree Assault. The arrest was a result of a cutting incident between the suspect and male victim, with a razor.

 

BURGLARY

 

1st DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -14900 block of Dufief Dr in N. Potomac, between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on 04-03-04. Broke window, safe handgun and ammo taken. 

 

2nd DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -RAY’S DINER, 10509 Metropolitan Ave. in Kensington, at 3:00 a.m. on 04-14-04. Broke out front door, cash register and cash taken.

 

3rd DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -9300 block Piney Branch Rd in Silver Spring, between 6:30 a.m. on 01-01-04 and 7:00 p.m. on 03-31-04. Entered front door, Playstation II, games, and 35 mm camera taken. 

            -10400 block of Mountain Quail Rd in Silver Spring, between 6:15 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. on 04-14-04. Broke rear door open, jewelry, camera, playstation, and currency taken. 

            -11500 block of February Circle in White Oak, between 11:00 p.m. on 04-11-04 and 7:20 a.m. on 04-12-04. Broke sliding glass door, nothing taken. 

            -800 block of Thayer Avenue in Silver Spring, between 4:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on 04-16-04. Broke front door, Playstation, X-Box, clothing, currency, and DVD’s taken.
