RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

April 21, 2006

BURGLARY ARRESTS

            -On 04-11-06, at 1:16 p.m., a 15-year-old Silver Spring male juvenile was arrested and charged with 1^st degree burglary, resisting arrest, and theft under $500. The arrest was a result of a burglary of a home in the 9600 block of Cottrell Terrace in Silver Spring that had just occurred.

ARMED ROBBERY

            -On 04-14-06, at 2:30 a.m., a 47-year-old Germantown man was in his vehicle in the 13000 block of Wisteria Dr. when he was approached by 3 suspects. Suspect #1 displayed a black handgun and forced the victim out of the car. They took cash from the victim, then got into his vehicle and fled towards the area of Middlebrook Road. The vehicle was described as a 2002 silver Toyota Camary, 4 door, with Md. Tags.
            -All three suspects described as – Hispanic/M’s, 5’8”-5’10”, slim, dark clothing. 

            -On 04-13-06, at 11:40 p.m., the Hillandale Exxon Gas Station, located at 10206 New Hampshire Ave. in Silver Spring was robbed. A lone suspect entered the store and posed as a customer. The suspect then displayed a handgun and demanded money. The clerk complied. The suspect then fled the establishment and may have entered a waiting vehicle.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 35-40, 5’5”-5’8”, 140-150 lbs., black long sleeve shirt, blue jeans. 

            -On 04-16-06, at 4:00 a.m., a 26-year-old Wheaton man was found by police in a disoriented state in the 4400 block of Randolph Rd. in Rockville. He reported he had been the victim of an armed robbery on Selfridge Rd. in Rockville. Two suspects displayed a knife and the victim tried to run away. He was caught and beaten by the suspects and robbed of cash.
            -Both suspects described as – B/M, 5’8”, thin. 

            -On 04-17-06, at 10:35 p.m., a delivery person for Pizza Hut in Gaithersburg was had just completed a delivery to the 9600 block of Horizon Run in Gaithersburg when he was approached and surrounded by 6 black male suspects. One suspect held a knife and demanded money. They took money from the victim and punched him in the face. They suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 5’8”-5’10”, heavy, black T-shirt, white tank top shirt.
            -Suspect #2 – B/M, 5’05”-5’06”
            -Suspect #3 – B/M, 5’05”-5’06”
            -Suspect #4 – B/M, 5’05”-5’10”
            -Suspect #5 – B/M, 5’05”-5’10”
            -Suspect #6 – B/M, 5’05”-5’10”

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY

            -On 03-13-06, at 2:30 p.m., a 12-year-old Silver Spring youth reported that he was confronted by a known suspect, aged 14, who punched him and took his bike in the 13900 block of Castle Blvd. in the Burtonsville area of Silver Spring. There were 3 other suspects with him. They were described as 2 black juvenile males and 1 juvenile Asian male.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 14, 4’8”, 100 lbs., baby dreads hair.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

            -On 04-14-06, at 11:00 p.m., a 25-year-old Gaithersburg man reported that he had been stabbed by 3 black males while in the area of Father Hurley Blvd. and Waters Landing. A white Lexus was reported to be the getaway car. The victim was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

RAPE

            -On 03-10-06, a 14-year-old Darnestown youth had an unauthorized party at her house in Darnestown. On 03-11-06, a neighbor found the victim passed out in the house. When her parents returned on 03-13-06, they discovered items missing from the residence and she reported that she had been raped by males at the party while she was passed out. The investigation continues.

PEEPING TOM

            -On 04-16-06, at 6:00 a.m., a 41-year-old Gaithersburg woman reported that she heard a noise outside her bedroom window in the 300 block of W. Side Drive in Gaithersburg, and then found a suspect crouched down about 4 feet from her window. The suspect then fled on foot.
            -Suspect #1 – W/M, 20s, 5’7”-5’10”, thin, black shirt, blue jeans.

ARRESTS

            -On 04-12-06, at 6:30 p.m., a 14-year-old male juvenile from Silver Spring was arrested and charged with strong arm robbery. The arrest was a result of a strong arm robbery of a 31-year-old Silver Spring man on Treetop Lane near Tech Lane in Silver Spring that had just occurred. 

            -On 04-16-06, at 5:00 a.m., Rashida Mallory, age 29, a female, of College Park, was arrested and charged with 1^st and 2^nd degree assault, disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment, and trespassing. The arrest was a result of an altercation in the 14300 block of Bradshaw Dr. in Silver Spring that had just occurred.

            -On 04-16-06, at 2:00 a.m., Dustin Wayne Hatfield, age 21, of Hedgesville, W. Virginia, was arrested and charged with 1^st and 2^nd degree assault and possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. The arrest was a result of an assault in the 12100 block of Darnestown Rd. in Gaithersburg that had just occurred. 

            -On 03-30-06, at 10:57 p.m., Sergio Del Rio, age 39, of British Columbia, Canada, was arrested and charged with Peeping Tom. The arrest was a result of an incident in the 9700 block of Washingtonian Blvd. in Gaithersburg near the Marriott Hotel.
