RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

April 29, 2005

RAPE 

            -On 04-26-05, between 4:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., a 21-year-old Montgomery Village woman reported that she had been raped at an unknown residence in Montgomery Village by a male who she knew by first name only.  The investigation is continuing.

HOME INVASION ROBBERY 

            -On 04-21-05, at 7:20 p.m., two Wheaton women, ages 37 and 52, were in an apartment in the 14300 block of Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring, when two men forced their way into the apartment.  Both women were assaulted.  The suspects then took property and left. Both suspects are known and the investigation is continuing.

ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 04-26-05, at 12:47 a.m., the 7-Eleven store, located at 8946 N. Westland Dr. in Gaithersburg, was robbed.  A lone suspect entered the store, displayed a gun, and demanded money.  The victim complied and then the suspect walked out of the store in an unknown direction.
        Suspect #1 – B/M, 30-35, 5’6”-5’10”, 160-230 lbs., heavy-set. 

            -On 04-23-05, at 9:12 p.m., the Dollar Tree Store, located at 12029 Georgia Ave. in Wheaton, was robbed. A suspect, who was in the store after it closed, surprised a clerk, displayed a gun, and demanded money.  The clerk complied.  A 2^nd suspect took the three employees who were in the store into the bathroom, and locked them in.  The suspects then fled the scene.
        Suspect #1 – black T-shirt, black boots, beige stocking over face, black baseball cap with an “A”.
        Suspect #2 – black clothing.

            -On 04-21-05, at 12:30 a.m., a 30-year-old Wheaton man was on Georgia Ave. at Reedie Dr. near the Wheaton garage when he was approached by two Hispanic males.  They threw him to the ground and displayed a knife, then took the victim’s wallet.  The suspects then ran towards the Wheaton Metro.
     Suspect #1 – W/M, 5’6”-6’1”, 160 lbs., black pants and shirt.
     Suspect #2 – W/M, 5’3”, 150 lbs., orange shirt, black pants.

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 04-25-05, at 2:55 p.m., a 15-year-old Germantown male was with friends near Northwest High School when suspect #1 knocked him down.  The suspect then took property from the victim and fled to a waiting BMW, occupied by suspect #2.  The vehicle fled the area onto Richter Farm Road.
       Suspect #1 –W/M, 16-17, 5’8”, 130 lbs., bald, green shirt, blue hat, blue jeans, black shoes.
       Suspect #2 – W/M, 16-17, no further description.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 

            -On 04-25-05, at 4:30 p.m., police were called to the 1200 block of Milestone Manor Lane in Germantown for a weapons complaint.  The victim advised that, while he was driving his van in the parking lot, 5-6 black males approached and got into a verbal altercation with him.  Three of the suspects then began beating the van with baseball bats.  After the victim drove a short distance away, suspect #1 approached him and threatened the victim with a handgun.  All of the suspects then fled on foot.
     Suspect #1 – B/M, 15-20, 5’9”, 165-170, short, black hair, thin mustache, wearing black and orange t-shirt.
     Suspect #2 – B/M, 15-17, 6’, 150, black hair, mustache and goatee, wearing a white jersey-shirt with blue letters.
     Suspect #3 – B/M, 18-20, 6’, 215-230, small black braids, all black clothing.

SEX OFFENSE 

            -On 04-22-05, at 6:00 p.m., a Montgomery Village man reported that he found a 6-year-old female relative and a 14-year-old female relative engaged in a sex act in the residence.  The investigation is continuing.

 RAPE ARREST 

            -On 01-07-05, Elwood Antonio Martin, 21, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Rape.  The arrest was the result of an incident that occurred on 01-01-05 in Gaithersburg. 

            - On 04-12-05, David Andrade, 49, of the 17600 block of Larchmont Terrance in Gaithersburg, was arrested and charged with First Degree Rape.  The arrest was the result of an incident that occurred on 03-15-05 in Gaithersburg.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT ARREST 

            -On 04-24-05, Thomas Jeffrey Roberts, 39, of the unit bock of Hyacinth Court in Gaithersburg, was charged with First Degree Assault.  The arrest was the result of an incident that occurred earlier that day in the unit block of W. Deer Park Road. 

            -On 04-21-05, Viet Thang Nguyen, 27, of the 13500 block of Point Pleasant Drive in Chantilly, VA, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Assault and Disorderly Conduct. The arrest was the result of an incident that occurred in the 600 block of Centerpoint Way in Gaithersburg on 04-21-05.

BURGLARY ARREST 

            -On 04-19-05, Eduardo Zedillo, 29, and Osman Rene Claros, 20, both of an unknown address, were arrested and charged with two counts of Second Degree Assault, two counts of Theft Under $500.00, and two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Burglary.  The arrest was the result of incident that occurred at Westfield Shoppingtown - Montgomery (formerly Montgomery Mall).

INDECENT EXPOSURE ARREST 

            -On 04-25-05, a 13-year-old Gaithersburg male was arrested and charged with Indecent Exposure, two counts of Fourth Degree Sex Offense, and one count of Theft under $500.00.  The arrest was the result of incidents that occurred on 04-19-05 and 04-21-05 in the 9300 block of Bramble Bush Court in Gaithersburg.
