ARMED ROBBERY

            -On 04-26-04, at 3:28 p.m., the MINI Market, located at 11200 Lockwood Dr. in Silver Spring was robbed. A lone suspect (B/M, 16-20, 5’9”-5’10”, 150-160 lbs., black shirt with buttons, black swears with white stripe, black Middle Eastern type head dress covering face) entered the store and approached the register. He displayed a gun and demanded cash. The clerk opened the register and handed cash to the suspect. He fled out the front door and headed in an unknown direction.

            -On 04-25-04, at 11:45 p.m., the Block Buster Video Store, located at 5440 Western Ave. in Chevy Chase was robbed. A lone suspect (B/M, 6’2”, 200 lbs., medium build, blue jeans, black sweat shorts, black tennis shoes, black backpack and face mask with eye holes) entered the store and displayed a pistol. He forced the 2 employees to the floor and took cash from the pockets of one of them. The one employee was taken to the basement where the safe was located. He was forced to open it and the suspect left with some cash and a security system.

            -On 04-23-04, at 4:58 p.m., the Wachovia Bank, located at 8701 Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring was robbed. A lone suspect (B/M, 50-55, 5’10”-6’0”, 160-170 lbs., short black hair, blue T-shirt, blue jeans, blue brimmed hat) entered the bank and went right to the front of the line. He implied a gun and told the teller, “Just give me all your money and you won’t get hurt”. The victim handed over cash and the exited the bank and fled east down the driveway toward the parking lot behind the bank. 

            -On 04-26-04, at 12:50 a.m., a 25 year-old Gaithersburg woman was in the area of the 300 block of E. Diamond Ave. in Gaithersburg, when she was approached by a suspect. The suspect (B/M, 6’0”, 200 lbs., gray hooded sweatshirt) displayed a silver handgun and asked the victim for her wallet. The suspect took cash and returned some receipts to the victim. The victim got back into her car and left the scene.

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 04-25-04, at 2:30 p.m., a 57 year-old Wheaton woman was walking on Randolph Rd. at Judson Rd. when she was approached by 2 suspects. The suspect snatched her purse so hard that she fell to the ground so hard that she bruised her leg. The suspects yelled to a person in a black Jeep Wrangler to pick them up down the street. The jeep headed southbound on Judson Road.
            Suspect #1 – B/M, 17-20, 5’6”-5’8”, 140-160 lbs., jeans and T-shirt.
            Suspect #2 – B/M, 17-20, 5’6”-5’8”, 140-160 lbs., very distinct facial
                                deformity. 

            -On 04-23-04, at approximately 5:00 p.m., a 18 year old Silver Spring man was in Oakview Park on Oakview Dr. when he was approached by 2 Hispanic males in their early 20s. The suspects took the victim’s cell phone and car keys. Police located the cell phone and car later. The suspects were described as 5’2”-5’5”, 130 lbs., with white shirts.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT/ARREST 

            -On 04-24-04, at 7:57 p.m., Santos Domingo Bandaalvarado age 28, of the 8500 block of Carroll Ave. in Silver Spring was arrested and charged with 1st and 2nd degree assault. The arrest was a result of an attempt stabbing in an apartment adjacent to the address above.

1ST DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -HOLIDAY PARK SENIOR CENTER, 3950 Ferrara Dr. in Rockville, between 4:30 p.m. on 04-22-04 and 7:00 a.m. on 04-23-04. Pried open rear door, nothing taken. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -12100 block of Gaynor Road in Rockville, between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on 04-24-04. Unlocked side door, cash taken.

 

2ND DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -CHRIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 4001 Franklin St. in Kensington, between 1:00 p.m. on 04-20-04 and 1:30 p.m. on 04-22-04. Pried molding, no entry. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -3300 block of Plyers Mill Rd. in Kensington, between 8:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on 04-22-04. Broke through rear door, coins, knife taken.

            -11100 block of Woodson Ave. in Kensington, between 1:10 p.m. and 3:12 p.m. on 04-22-04. Climbed through rear window, unknown amount taken.

 

3RD DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -300 block of Southampton Dr. in Silver Spring, between 11:00 p.m. on 04-25-04 and 2:45 a.m. on 04-26-04. Window entry, TV, Disc changer, VCR, CDs taken.

            -12300 block of Prosperity Dr. in Silver Spring, between noon on 05-20-03 and 10:35 a.m. on 04-24-04. Cut padlock on long term storage unit, unknown amount taken.

            -9700 block of Belvedere Place in Silver Spring, at 2:12 a.m. on 04-28-04. Cut out side window screen, nothing taken.

            -14400 block of Bradshaw Dr. in Silver Spring, between 1:00 p.m. on 04-24-04 and 12:30 a.m. on 04-26-04. Pried rear door, jewelry, CD player, DVD movies taken.
