RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

May 3, 2005

RAPE 

            -On 04-24-05, a 37-year-old Gaithersburg woman reported she had been raped at her residence by her estranged husband.  The investigation is continuing.

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 04-28-05, at 11:15 p.m., a 44-year-old Gaithersburg man was standing on Contour Rd. near Lost Knife Road in Gaithersburg when two suspects approached him.  Suspect #1 demanded the victim’s money, hit him, and took property.  Both suspects then fled on foot towards the Cider Mill Apartments.
         Suspect #1 – B/M, 20-30, 5’10”-6’0”, 185-210 lbs., heavy-set, blue jeans, black hooded jacket.
         Suspect #2 – B/M, 20-30, 5’5”-5’8”, 150-170 lbs., thin, white jacket.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 

            -On 04-15-05, at 3:00 p.m., two 13-year-old females and one 13-year-old male were involved in a physical altercation in the area of Whittier Blvd. and Wilson Lane in Bethesda.  The male threatened the females with a knife.  The females then fought with the male.  The two girls received minor injuries and the male was not injured.  The identity of the suspects is known and charges are pending. 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT/ARREST 

            -On 04-28-05 at 9:58 p.m., Robert Bradley Doane, 38, of the 4400 block of Randolph Road in Wheaton was arrested and charged with 1^st and 2^nd Degree Assault. The arrest was the result of an incident had just occurred in the area of Connecticut Avenue and Plyers Mill Road in Kensington. 

            -On 04-28-05 at 3:35 p.m., Deandre Dante Goodrich, 19, of the 18400 block of Lost Knife Circle in Gaithersburg was arrested and charged with 1^st and 2^nd Degree Assault.  The arrest was the result of a domestic dispute that had just occurred. 

INDECENT EXPOSURE 

            -On 04-26-05, at 11:43 a.m., a 24-year-old Chevy Chase woman and a 23-year-old Washington, D.C. woman reported that the same male suspect grabbed them and then exposed himself.  The first incident occurred at Wisconsin Ave. and Cumberland Ave. next to the basketball courts in Bethesda. The second incident occurred at Wisconsin Ave. and Dorset Ave. next to the tennis courts in Bethesda.  Both victims were able to easily get away from the suspect.
         Suspect #1 – Hispanic/M, 20s, 5’8”, wavy shoulder length hair, gray hooded sweatshirt with emblem centered on the front, blue jeans.

UNDERAGE DRINKING PARTY 

            -On 04-29-05 at 11:17 p.m., officers responded to the unit block of Scotch Mist Court in Rockville for an underage party.  Two juvenile citations and six adult citations were issued.

            -On 04-30-05 at 12:01 a.m., officers responded to the 17600 block of Princess Anne Drive in Olney, for an underage party.  Eight Adult Alcohol citations, 11 Juvenile Alcohol citations and one furnishing citations were issued.

            -EDDIES”S PIZZA AND SUBS, 17513 Redland Road in Derwood, between 9:00 p.m. on 04-27-05 and 9:15 a.m. on 04-28-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -HOUSE OF CHINESE DELIGHT, 16240 Frederick Road in Rockville, between 11:30 p.m. on 04-27-05 and 10:00 p.m. on 04-28-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -GENEX TECHNOLOGIES, INC., 10605 Concord Street, Suite 500 in Kensington, between 9:00 p.m. on 04-20-05 and 7:00 a.m. on 04-21-05.  Forced entry, property taken. 

RESIDENTIAL 

            -8200 block of Wisconsin Ave in Bethesda, between 7:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on 04-22-05.  Entry made, no force, property taken.

            -6900 block of Persimmon Tree Road in Bethesda, on 04-25-05 at 12:10 p.m.  Forced entry, nothing taken.

            -3900 block of Hampden Street in Kensington, between 1:00 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. on 04-27-05.  Attempt only.

            -VICINO RESTORANTE ITALIANO, 659 Sligo Avenue in Silver Spring, between 11:00 p.m. on 04-26-05 and 9:00 a.m. on 04-27-05.  Forced entry, property taken. 

RESIDENTIAL 

            -10000 block of Reddick Road in the Sunset Terrace community of Silver Spring, between 12:00 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. on 04-28-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -McDONALD’S, 21120 Frederick Road in Germantown, between 2:55 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on 04-29-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -LAKE SENECA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 13600 Wanegarden Drive in Germantown, between 2:29 a.m. and 2:37 a.m. on 04-29-05.  Forced entry, nothing taken.

            -CAROLINA FURNITURE & INTERIORS, 19603 Frederick Road in Germantown, between 11:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on 04-26-05.  Attempt only.
