RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

May 5, 2005

 

RAPE 

      -On 04-30-05, at 4:00 p.m., a 16-year-old Rockville female reported that she had accepted a ride in a white van to a party in a home somewhere in Rockville. While there, she said she was raped by one of the occupants of the vehicle. The suspect is described at a Hispanic male, 20 to 25, 5’6”, 200 lbs., with short hair.

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 04-27-05, at 2:25 p.m., a 59-year-old Silver Spring man boarded a bus at Piney Branch Rd. and Arliss St. and at the next stop, Suspect #1 grabbed his wallet. Suspect #1 along with 2 other suspects got off the bus and ran behind the Eastern Carryout towards Domer Avenue.
            -Suspect #1 - B/M, 18-20, 6’1”, 150 lbs., short hair, wearing a white jacket, and light-colored pants.   No description on Suspects 2 and 3.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 

            -On 05-01-05, at 12:57 a.m., a 26-year-old male pedestrian from Germantown, was struck at the McDonalds on Mateny Rd. in Germantown. Words were exchanged between suspect, who was driving a Ford Taurus and who butted in-line in front of the vehicle the victim was in.  The victim, who had gotten out of his vehicle, was struck by the Ford Taurus.  The suspect is described as a white male, with a crew cut and was wearing a white T-shirt.           

            -On 04-30-05, at 2:50 a.m., a 21-year-old Fairfax, Virginia man was in the 13600 block of Hayworth Drive in Potomac.  The victim observed the known suspect.  The suspect pointed a gun at the victim from the window of his black Nissan. The victim sprayed the suspect with mace and the suspect drove off. The suspect’s identity is known and the investigation is continuing. 

            On 04-27-05, at 8:21 p.m., a 31-year-old female from Gaithersburg was in her residence on Great Parks Circle in Gaithersburg when she punched in the face and head several times when the suspect entered the residence without permission.  The suspect’s identity is known.

 

BURGLARY ARREST 

            -On 04-28-05, at 2:56 p.m., a 16-year-old male juvenile, no fixed address, was arrested and charged with two counts of Malicious Destruction of Property, Theft Under $500, 1st Degree Burglary, and Attempt 1st Degree Burglary. The arrest was the result of two burglaries in Damascus on 04-28-05.  

 

DRUG ARREST 

            -On 04-25-05, at 6:00 p.m., Thomas Hall Miller, age 18, of the 8800 block of Goshen Mill Ct. in Gaithersburg, was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana.   Colin Michael McCarty, age 19, of the 18300 block of Winter Park Ct. in Gaithersburg, was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia, Transporting a Handgun in a Vehicle, and Transporting a Firearm While Engaging in a Drug Trafficking Crime.   Michael Joseph Miller, age 20, of the 8700 block of Snow Valley Ct. in Gaithersburg was issued a citation for Failure to Display a License on Demand and an equipment repair order for the window tinting on his vehicle.

COMMERCIAL 

            -7 EXPRESS FOOD, 12960 Travilah Road in Darnestown, on 04-30-05 at 4:10 a.m.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -P&J BEER ANS DELI, 12401 Parklawn Drive in Rockville, between 6:30 p.m. on 04-28-05 and 8:30 a.m. on 04-29-05.  Forced entry, nothing taken. 

RESIDENTIAL 

            -11100 block of Candlelight Lane in Potomac, between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on 04-28-05.  Entered open garage, property taken.

            -11100 block of Lamplighter Lane in Potomac, between 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on 04-28-05.  Entered open garage, property taken.

            -16100 Crabbs Branch Way in Rockville, between 12:30 a.m. and 12:35 a.m. on 04-30-05.  Forced entry, nothing taken.

 

3rd DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL 

            -SILVER SPRING INTERNATIONAL MIDDLE SCHOOL, 313 Wayne Avenue in Silver Spring, between 11:18 p.m. on 04-24-05 and 12:13 a.m. on 04-25-05.  Forced entry, nothing taken.

            -JIP GROUP, 2141 Industrial Parkway, Suite 201C in the White Oak area of Silver Spring, between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on 04-30-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

RESIDENTIAL 

            -2300 block of Arthur Avenue in the Forest Glen area of Silver Spring, between 6:00 p.m. on 04-25-05 and 8:00 a.m. on 04-27-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -10400 block of Naglee Road in the Hillandale area of Silver Spring, on 04-29-05 at 12:27 p.m.  Possibly unlocked door, property taken.

            -8100 block of Chester Street in Takoma Park, between 9:00 a.m. and 10:10 a.m. on 05-01-05.  Forced entry, unknown if property was taken.

 

5th DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL

            -19000 block of McFarlin Drive in Germantown, between 11:00 p.m. on 04-29-05 and 3:13 p.m. on 04-30-05.  No force, property taken.

            -Unit block of Gunners Court in Germantown, between 6:00 p.m. on 04-28-05 and 9:00 p.m. on 04-29-05.  Unlocked window, property taken.

            -23800 block of Stringtown Road in Clarksburg, between 8:10 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on 04-27-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

 

6th DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL 

            -THE DOLBEN COMPANY, 204 Park Avenue in Gaithersburg between an unknown time on 04-14-05 and 11:00 a.m. on 04-30-05.   Possibly used key, property taken,

            -DONOHOE CONSTRUCTION, 27 Booth Street #B51 in Gaithersburg, between 6:00 p.m. on 04-25-05 and 7:00 a.m. on 04-25-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -PROFESSIONAL NAIL, 11 N. Summit Avenue in Gaithersburg, between 8:30 p.m. on 04-30-05 and 11:00 a.m. on 05-01-05.  Forced entry, nothing taken. 

RESIDENTIAL 

            -1100 block of Travis Lane in Gaithersburg, between 6:45 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on 04-30-05.  Unknown method of entry, nothing taken.

            -9900 block of Killarney Lane in Gaithersburg, between unknown time on 04-26-05 and 4:24 p.m. on 04-29-05.  Unlocked door, property taken.
