RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

May 12, 2006 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

            -On 05-02-06, at 2:30 a.m., a 21-year-old Silver Spring man was at the Strike Bethesda bowling alley 5353 Westbard Avenue in Bethesda with a friend when they were challenged to a game by 2 men who were acquaintances of the friend. When they lost, and were unable to pay, a fight ensued outside the alley in the parking lot. The victim was hit with a club. The suspects fled in a car in an unknown direction.
            -Suspect #1 – W/M, 21.
            -Suspect #2 – W/M, 21, wearing blue jeans 

            -On 05-02-06, at 7:20 p.m., a 32-year-old Silver Spring man was at the J and J Coin Op Laundromat 12206 Veirs Mill Rd. in Rockville when he got into a fight with a female suspect after their laundry got mixed up. The suspect slashed the victim with a broken bottle. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
            -Suspect #1 – Hispanic/F, 30-35, 5’8”, 220 lbs., ponytail hair, heavy, gray shirt, black pants.

SEX ASSAULT

            -On 04-26-06, at 2:30 p.m., a 13-year-old Hyattsville juvenile reported that she was picked-up from her front yard (in PG) by a suspect and taken to a vacant building in the White Oak area where the suspect assaulted her. The suspect’s identity is known and the investigation is continuing.

UNDERAGE ALCOHOL PARTY

            -On 05-05-06, at 10:14 p.m., police responded to the 7600 block of Exeter Rd. in Bethesda for the report of an underage alcohol party. There were 10 or more people in attendance. There were 5 juvenile alcohol citations issued.

LARCENY

            -On 04-27-06, at 4:30 p.m., police responded to a construction site at the intersection of Diamondback Dr. and Sam Eig Highway for a larceny from a construction trailer. Tools and material were taken.

ARRESTS

            -On 04-28-06, at 2:20 p.m., a B/F juvenile, age 15, of Silver Spring was arrested and charged with robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, 2^nd degree assault, carrying a concealed weapon, and assault with intimidation. The arrest was a result of beating and armed robbery of a female in the 900 block of University Blvd. W in Silver Spring that occurred on 04-25-06. 

            -On 04-30-06, at 5:29 p.m., Guy Madeleine Menyang, age 36, of the 300 block of Lanark Way in Silver Spring was arrested and charged with 1^st and 2^nd degree assault and attempted armed robbery. The arrest was a result of an attempted armed robbery in the 13800 block of Outlet Dr. in Silver Spring that had just occurred. 

            -On 04-29-06, at 1:40 a.m., Denis Alexander Coreas, age 19, of the 9400 block of Gentle Way in Montgomery Village was arrested and charged with 1^st degree assault with a motor vehicle and strong arm robbery. The arrest was a result of an incident in the 19900 block of Sugar Notch Circle in Gaithersburg. 

            -On 04-26-06, at 11:46 p.m., a 13-year-old Silver Spring male juvenile was arrested and charged with robbery. The arrest was a result of an incident at Briggs Chaney Middle School in Silver Spring that had just occurred.

            -On 05-03-06, at 3:25 p.m., Bobby Coats, age 47, of Washington, D.C., was arrested and charged with armed robbery, assault, larceny, and assault with a gun. The arrest was a result of an armed robbery at the Home Depot on Shady Grove Rd. in Rockville that had just occurred.

            -On 05-10-06, at 3:40 p.m., a 15-year-old male juvenile from Gaithersburg was arrested and charged with strong arm robbery, 2^nd degree assault, theft under $500, and resisting arrest. The arrest was a result of armed robbery of a 14-year-old male in the unit block of W. Deer Park Rd. in Gaithersburg that had just occurred.
