RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

May 17, 2005

 

ATTEMPT ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 05-10-05, at 11:08 p.m., a 19-year-old Montgomery Village man and two black males exited a bus at Stedwick Rd. and Watkins Mill Rd. in Gaithersburg and walked in opposite directions.  Suspect #1 (one of the passengers who exited the bus behind the victim) then ran toward the victim and pointed a black handgun at him.  The victim ran away and the suspect left the area without obtaining property. 

Suspect #1 – B/M, late teens, dark complexion, bushy afro, 5’6”, medium build, black sweatshirt, blue jeans. 

            -On 05-12-05, at 9:00 p.m., a lone suspect entered the Hunan Gaithersburg Restaurant, located at 7601 Airpark Rd. in Gaithersburg, and asked for change. The suspect then produced a knife and demanded money.  When the female victim called for help from another employee, the suspect fled the store on foot, without obtaining money.

Suspect #1 – B/M, 16-20, 5’9”-5’11”, corn rows/braids, thin, white shirt, blue pants, red hat.

  

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 05-12-05, at 5:00 a.m., a 38-year-old Beltsville woman was in the 12200 block of Galway Dr. in the Deer Park area of Silver Spring when a green Nissan Altima pulled up behind her. The suspect exited the vehicle and demanded money from the victim.  The victim ran away and the suspect fled without obtaining money.

Suspect #1 – Hispanic/M, 16-20, 5’7”, 150 lbs., black jacket. 

 

STRONG ARMED ROBBERY ARREST 

            -On 05-11-05, a 17-year-old male from Lignum, Virginia, was arrested and charged with Attempt Theft Under $500, Robbery, and 2nd Degree Assault.  The arrest was the result of an incident that had just occurred at Woodmont Avenue and Elm Street in Bethesda.

 

SEX OFFENSE 

            -On 04-12-05, the mother of a 14 year-old Gaithersburg girl reported that her daughter had sexually relations with a 28-year-old Germantown man who she was dating.  The suspect’s identity is known and the investigation is continuing. 

 

PEEPING TOM 

            -On 05-09-05, at 10:00 p.m., a 23-year-old Silver Spring woman reported that she and two other people had seen a man outside sitting in a tree looking in their windows.  The suspect climbed down the tree when he was seen and then met up with two other males.

Suspect #1 – W/M, 18-20, 5’6”-5’10”, very short hair, blue jeans, blue/white plaid shirt, white sneakers.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT ARREST

            -On 05-02-05, Junita E. Thompson, 31, of the 1300 block of 1st Street in Rockville, was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Assault.  The arrest was the result of an incident that occurred that day in the parking lot at Shady Grove Hospital in Rockville. 

            -On 05-09-05, Petal Tricia Melena Anderson, 29, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with 1st and 2nd Degree Assault, Trespassing, Disorderly Conduct, Reckless Endangerment, and Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon.  The arrest was the result of an incident that occurred that day at the Exxon at 8384 Colesville Road in Silver Spring. 

            -On 05-11-05, Edward Jaume, 26, from the 12200 block of Veirs Mill Road in Silver Spring, was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, Resisting Arrest and Possession of CDS.  Jaume was also issued three traffic citations, two for eluding the police and one for the operator not being restrained by a seatbelt.  The arrest was the result of an incident that just occurred on Veirs Mill Road at Gaynor Road.

RESIDENTIAL 

            -3800 block of Williams Lane in Chevy Chase, between 7:50 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on 05-11-05.  Entry made, no force, property taken.

            -7600 block of Kenwood Forest Lane in Bethesda, between 8:00 a.m. on 05-09-05 and 9:33 p.m. on 05-11-05.  Entry made, no force, property taken. 

 

6th DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL 

            -WATKINS MILL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 19001 Watkins Mill Road in Gaithersburg, between 1:01 a.m. on 05-10-05 and 7:00 a.m. on 05-11-05.  Attempt only.

            -STEDWICK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 10631 Stedwick Road in Gaithersburg, between 1:01 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on 05-09-05.  Attempt only. 

RESIDENTIAL 

            -Unit block of N. Summit Avenue in Gaithersburg, between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on 04-26-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -19300 block of Keymar Way in Montgomery Village, between 12:30 p.m. and 12:39 p.m. on 05-12-05.   Forced entry, property taken.

            -19300 block of Keymar Way in Montgomery Village, between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on 05-10-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -19100 block of Kindly Court in Gaithersburg, between 2:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. on 05-02-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -9700 block of Lake Shore Drive in Gaithersburg, at 12:59 a.m. on 05-12-05.  Forced entry, property taken. 

            -9400 block of Hickory View Place in Gaithersburg, between 11:10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on 04-28-05.  Attempt only.
