RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

May 17, 2006 

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

-On 05-07-06, at 1:00 a.m., a 20 year-old Montgomery Village man was walking on Montgomery Village Dr. in Gaithersburg, near the golf course, when he was approached by several black male suspects.  The suspects punched the victim and took his cell phone and CD player, before fleeing the scene.  The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life- threatening injuries. 

 

SEX OFFENSE 

            -On 05-06-06, at noon, a 64-year-old Silver Spring woman was doing some yard work at her home in the 1900 block of Lodestone Dr., when she looked up and saw a naked man standing in her yard. She went to call police and the suspect fled.

·        Suspect – W/M, 5’11”, black hair.

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY ARRESTS 

            -On 04-28-06, at 1:52 p.m., police responded to the Home Depot at 14000 Georgia Avenue in Wheaton for a strong arm robbery.  It was found that Samuel James Feaster, age 50, of the 8000 block of Flower Ave. in Takoma Park, MD, had assaulted a loss prevention officer who was trying to apprehend Feaster, after Feaster stole items from the store.  Feaster then escaped in a blue Ford pick-up driven by Larry Lonnel Sanders, age 49, of the 7600 block of Arbory Lane in Laurel, MD.  The vehicle was stopped by police nearby, and Feaster immediately arrested.  Sanders was arrested after a short foot chase.  Feaster was charged with robbery, theft over $500, 2nd degree assault, conspiracy to commit theft, and possession of CDS paraphernalia.  Sanders was charged with robbery, theft over $500, conspiracy to commit theft, and hindering.

            -On 05-04-06, at 11:00 p.m., James Orlanda Neal, age 37, of Frederick, MD was arrested after he knocked his girlfriend to the ground in the parking lot of the 7-11 at the Duvall Center in Gaithersburg, took the keys to her blue Jeep Liberty, and drove away.  He was later stopped by police in the area of Odend Hall Ave. and Lost Knife Rd. in Gaithersburg, and arrested for driving while intoxicated.  Neal was eventually charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while impaired by alcohol, reckless driving, strong arm robbery, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, unauthorized taking of a motor vehicle, 2nd degree assault, and theft over $500.  The victim did suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the incident. 

            -On 04-26-06, at 7:30 a.m., a 15 year-old Gaithersburg boy demanded property from a 14-year-old Gaithersburg boy, and then physically assaulted the victim.  The incident happened in the 300 block of South Frederick Ave. in Gaithersburg.  The suspect was arrested and charged with strong arm robbery and 4th degree burglary.  The victim was treated for minor injuries. 

            -On 04-27-06, at 7:05 p.m., a 15 year-old Silver Spring male juvenile was arrested and charged with 1st and 2nd degree assault, deadly weapon conceal, and reckless endangerment. The arrest was a result of a confrontation in the 9600 block of Cottrell Terrace in Silver Spring between the defendant and an 18 year-old female.  No one was injured during the incident. 

            -On 04-29-06, at 2:30 p.m., Michael Brian Steward age 49, of the 8600 block of Fountain Valley Dr. in Gaithersburg was arrested and charged with 1st degree assault. The arrest occurred when Steward displayed a handgun during a verbal dispute with neighbors, who had threatened to physically beat Steward.  No one was injured during the incident.
