RECENT CRIME SUMMARY
May 19, 2005
RAPE
-On
05-14-05, at 4:00 a.m., a 25-year-old Silver Spring woman reported
that she had been raped in her residence in downtown Silver Spring.
The suspect’s identity is known and the investigation is continuing.

RAPE
-On
05-13-05, at 4:45 p.m., a 14-year-old Silver Spring girl reported
that she was walking in the 11500 block of Lockwood Dr. in Silver
Spring when she met up with a 15-year-old male acquaintance. He
invited her into a building there where he attempted to rape her.
The suspect’s identity is known and the investigation is continuing.
ARMED
ROBBERY
-On
05-14-05, at 12:50 p.m., the Briggs Chaney Cleaners, located at
13828 Outlet Dr. in Silver Spring was robbed. A lone suspect entered
the establishment via the rear door and brandished a handgun. He
threatened several employees, took money, and fled on foot out of
the rear door.
Suspect #1 – B/M, 18-25, 5’7”-5’8”, bald, black ski mask, black
clothing, white socks.

05-15-05, at approximately midnight, a 25-year-old Gaithersburg man
was walking on West Diamond Ave under the Rt. 355 bridge in
Gaithersburg, when a suspect approached him. The suspect demanded
money, then pulled a knife and a glass bottle from his waistband and
slashed the victim across the cheek. The suspect fled with the
victim’s cash. VIctim was taken to a local hospital with non-life
threatening injuries.
Suspect #1 – Hispanic/M, 5’5”, 150 lbs.

ROBBERY

05-13-05, at 6:30 p.m., a 14-year-old Germantown male was with some
friends in the 19300 block of Mateny Hill Rd. in Germantown, on the
bridge over the tracks at the MARC station, when three suspects
approached them. Suspect #1 forcibly removed the victim’s wallet
and removed cash from it, then returned the wallet. The victim and
his friends then fled the area.
Suspect #1 – Hispanic/M, 19-20, 5’5”, thin, short dark hair, goatee,
black shirt, baggie jeans.
Suspect #2 – W/M, 19, 6’2”, short blond hair, black shirt, baggy
pants.
Suspect #3 – B/M, 18-20, 5’5”, muscular, short black hair, blue
shirt, white cap.

05-14-05, at 12:30 p.m., a 54-year-old Rockville woman was at her
mailbox in the Montrose Park area of Rockville, when she was
approached by a suspect. He took her purse and ran toward the park
at the bottom of the parking lot. The victim fell, injuring her arms
and legs, when she ran after him. The suspect got away with the
purse and it s contents.
Suspect #1 – B/M, 18-23, 5’8”-5’10”, 170-190 lbs., bald, dark blue
pants, white shirt.

05-14-05, at 4:35 p.m., a 15-year-old Germantown girl was seated at
a bench at the bus stop on Lost Knife Rd. near Lakeforest Mall, when
a suspect rode by on his bicycle and snatched her purse. The suspect
is a juvenile and his identity is known. Investigation is
continuing.

05-12-05 at 7:30 p.m., a 16-year-old Silver Spring male was with a
friend at Eastern Ave. and Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring, when they
were approached by two suspects. One of the suspects demanded the
victim’s property and the other took the property. The suspects
then fled into D.C. The suspect’s were identified and the
investigation is continuing.

ROBBERY ARREST
-On
04-27-05, Richard Price Ellinger, 19, of the 15000 block of Native
Dancer Road in Gaithersburg was arrested and charged with Robbery
and 2nd Degree Assault. The arrest was the result of an
incident that occurred in March on West Side Drive in Gaithersburg.
-On 05-12-05, Anthony Arndra Ward, 18,
of the 800 block of Quince Orchard Road in Gaithersburg, was
arrested and charged with Robbery and 2nd Degree
Assault. The arrest was the result of an incident that occurred in
March on West Side Drive in Gaithersburg.

05-12-05, Reginald Hill, 51, of the7600 block o Maple Avenue in
Takoma Park, was arrested with two counts of First Degree Burglary.
The arrest was the result of two burglaries that had just occurred
on Noyes Drive and Dale Drive in Silver Spring.
