RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

May 23, 2006

ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 05-13-06, at 11:28 p.m., the Firstfield Beer and Wine store, located at 511 Quince Orchard Blvd. Gaithersburg was robbed. A lone suspect entered the store and brandished a black handgun. He took cash and lottery tickets. The suspect then exited through the front door in an unknown direction.

            -On 05-06-06, at 1:30 a.m., the 7-Eleven Store, located at 29 Olney Sandy Spring Rd. in Ashton was robbed. Two suspects entered the store and Suspect #2 approached the counter, pointed a gun, and demanded money from the clerk. Suspect #1 stayed by the front door. They fled towards New Hampshire Avenue.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 20-24, 5’11”-6’4”, blue jeans, blue bandana, white sweatshirt.
            -Suspect #2 – B/M, 20-24, 5’11”-6’4”, blue jeans, black sweatshirt, gray bandana.

            -On 05-13-06, at 12:30 a.m., a 20-year-old Silver Spring man was walking home and was in the 8500 block of 11^th Ave. in Silver Spring when he was approached by 3 suspects. They displayed a gun and forced him to the ground. They took his cash and cell phone. The suspects then ran toward Carroll Avenue.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 45, 6’2”, black clothing.
            -Suspect #2 – B/M, 40, 5’7”, black clothing.
            -Suspect #3 – W/M, 22, 5’10”, white shirt, blue jeans, black shoes. 

            -On 05-06-06, at 1:15 a.m., a 21-year-old Silver Spring man was at a bus stop on Veirs Mill Rd. in Wheaton when 2 suspects approached. Suspect #1 brandished a knife and demanded money. The suspects then ran down Veirs Mill Rd. Cash was taken.
            -Suspect #1 – W/M, 20-25, 5’2”, 140 lbs., short hair, black clothing.
            -Suspect #2 – W/M, 20-25, 5’6”, 140 lbs., white sweatshirt, tan pants. 

            -On 05-06-06, at 1:08 a.m., a 23-year-old Silver Spring man was in front of the 3000 block of Hewitt Ave. when he was jumped by 9 or 10 black males. He was stabbed by one of the suspects when he tried to get away. This suspect had birth marks all over his face and between 35-40 years of age. He removed cash from the victim. The victim was transported to the local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 35-40, 5’7”, birth marks on face.
            -Suspect #2 – B/M, 35-40, 5’9”, tear drops under both eyes.
 

ARRESTS 

            -On 05-12-06, at 11:00 p.m., B/F, age 16-25, of Gaithersburg was arrested and charged with armed robbery and 1^st degree assault. Also charged accordingly were 2 Gaithersburg male juveniles, both aged 15. The arrests were a result of an armed robbery in the 18300 block of Lost Knife Circle in Montgomery Village that had just occurred. 

            -On 05-13-06, at 10:30 p.m., Danil Ramos, age 32, no fixed address, was arrested and charged with attempt robbery, theft, 2^nd degree assault, and disorderly conduct. The arrest was a result of a robbery in the 12200 block of Veirs Mill Rd. in Silver Spring that had just occurred.

            -On 05-12-06, at 1:15 a.m., three Silver Spring male juveniles ages 16, 17 and 17, were arrested and charged with armed robbery, theft over $500, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and conspiracy to commit theft over $500. In addition, the 16 year-old was charged with 1^st degree assault and concealed weapon. The arrests were a result of an assault and robbery in the area of 16^th Street in Silver Spring.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 

            -On 05-04-06, at 10:45 p.m., a 38 year-old Rockville man was at a Bus Stop in the 700 block of Russell Avenue when he was approached by 2 suspects. Suspect #1 displayed a knife. Suspect #2 struck the victim from behind. The victim fell to the ground and hit his head. They took his wallet, glasses and cell phone. The victim was later taken to the hospital. There was no description of Suspect #2.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 18-25, 5’5”-5’7”, 130-135 lbs., knife.
