STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

          -On 05-23-04, at 1:55 p.m., a 25 year-old Hyattsville man was in the 18500 block of Brooke Rd. in Brookeville, when two suspects approached him. Suspect #1 (B/M, 35-40, 6’0”, 180 lbs., black shorts, white sneakers) pushed the victim into some bushes and grabbed his wallet. Suspect #1 bit the victim on the right forearm. The victim then struck the suspect in the face.  Both suspects then ran off to the rear off toward a cemetery. Suspect #2 was described as a black male, black hair, with a dark complexion. 

            -On 05-22-04, at 5:00 p.m., a 53 year-old Kensington woman was in the parking lot at Wheaton Plaza, 11160 Veirs Mill Road in Wheaton, when she was approached from behind by a suspect. The suspect (White or Hispanic/M, 20s, 5’7”-5’9”, 170-200 lbs., light facial hair, tan jacket, tan slacks, fishing hat, sunglasses) grabbed the victim’s purse and a struggle ensued. The victim turned around and kicked the suspect. The suspect then hit the victim and grabbed the purse.  He was last seen running towards Veirs Mill Road.

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY/ARRESTS 

            -On 05-20-04, Junior Estrello age 19, of the 9300 block of Compton St. in Silver Spring -Juan Carlos Moreno age 19, of Takoma Park, Ragnar Quintaja age 20, of the 2200 block of Georgian Woods Place in Wheaton, and Richardino Daniel Matos age 21, of 600 block of University Blvd. E. in Silver Spring, and Tedros A Ishetu age 19, of Takoma Park, were arrested and charged with Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery. The arrests were a result of an incident in the parking lot of the 12400 block of Georgia Ave. in Wheaton.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT/ARREST 

            -On 05-23-04, Peter Mitsis Jr. age 38, was arrested and charged with three counts of Attempted First-degree Murder, three counts of First-degree Assault, two counts of Reckless Endangerment, Discharging a Firearm within an Urban Area, Resisting Arrest, and Destruction of Property. The arrest was a result of an incident in the 18300 block of New Hampshire Ave. in Ashton.  **Previous Press Release Issued** 

            -On 05-22-04, Ricardo Jaquez Jr. age 18, of Hyattsville, Md. was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence, Driving While Impaired, Failure to Stop at an Accident, First- degree Assault, and Wearing a Dangerous Weapon. The arrest was a result of an incident at Georgia Ave. and Arcola Ave. in Wheaton.

 

BURGLARY 

4TH DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 

            -NORBECK MOBIL SERVICE STATION, 15450 Georgia Ave., Rockville, between 2:00 a.m. and 2:10 a.m. on 05-25-04. Broke through window, money taken.

            -THE NATIONAL CENTER FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES, 3146 Hewitt Ave. Wheaton, between 4:00 p.m. on 05-20-04 and 6:00 a.m. on 05-21-04. Unknown entry, money taken.

            -W.H. RENTAL, 500 Rt. 108 in Sandy Spring, between 1:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on 05-21-04. Broke through door, money, chain saws, nailer, and a wheelbarrow was taken. 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

            -14600 block of Antietam Ct., Silver Spring, between 9:00 p.m. on 05-19-04 and 8:00 a.m. on 05-20-04. Entered vehicle in garage, purse and wallet taken.

            -2400 block of Dressler Lane, Wheaton, between 4:00 p.m. on 05-04-04 and 8:00 a.m. on 05-14-04.  Entered shed, power sprayer taken.

            -15200 block of Rockport Dr., Silver Spring, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. on 05-18-04. Entered home, unknown what was taken.

            -14700 block of Harvest Lane, Silver Spring, between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on 05-20-04. Pushed through door, unknown what was taken.
