RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

June 1, 2005

 

RAPE 

            -On 05-23-05, at 6:00 p.m., a 24-year-old Gaithersburg woman reported that she was raped by two men in the laundry room of a building in the unit block of West Deer Park Road in Gaithersburg.  The suspects’ are not known and the investigation is continuing.

Suspect #1 – Hispanic/M, short hair, blue pants, bandana, gray shirt, gray light jacket, brown boots.

Suspect #2 – Hispanic/M, red bandana, purple boxers, black shoes, black jeans, yellow shirt, black denim jacket.

 

ARMED ROBBERY

            -On 05-25-05, at 11:09 p.m., a 45-year-old Montgomery Village woman parked her car in the 19400 block of Brassie Ct. in Montgomery Village, when she was approached by a suspect. The suspect demanded her purse and displayed a handgun. The victim gave her purse to the suspect, who then walked away.  A second suspect stood nearby.

Suspect #1 – B/M, 20s, 5’8”-5’10”, thin, blue hooded jacket, dark pants.

Suspect #2 – B/M, 20s, 5’8”-5’10”, thin, dark clothing.

            -On 05-21-05, at 5:15 a.m., a 37-year-old Washington, D.C. man was in a car with his cousin and her boyfriend at the intersection of 16th St. and East West Highway in Silver Spring, when an argument broke out.  Both suspects dragged the victim out of the car, hit him with a handgun, took his cell phone and cash, and then drove away.

Suspect #1 – B/M, 35, 6’0”, 200 lbs., dread locks, very light beard, white shirt, black pants.

Suspect #2 – B/F, 30, 5’11”, 150 lbs., very short black hair, identity known.

            -On 05-22-05, at 1:00 a.m., two Silver Spring men, ages 31 and 33, were in the area of Wayne Dr. and Spring St. in Silver Spring, when they were approached by three suspects. Two of the three suspects produced handguns and demanded property from the victims. The victims complied, and the suspects fled on foot towards Colesville Road.  All three suspects wore black jeans.  No other descriptions were available.             

            -On 05-27-05, at 8:05 a.m., a lone suspect followed an employee into the Cash Depot, located at 107 E. Diamond Ave. in Gaithersburg.  The suspect displayed a handgun, and then fled when the store’s alarm sounded.

Suspect #1 – B/M, 30s, 5’10”, 170 lbs., green jumpsuit, green vest with yellow stripes, red bandana, short curly hair. 

            -On 05-25-05, at 9:00 p.m., a 25-year-old Montgomery Village man walked between a group of five black males who were in front of the laundry room of a building in the 18400 block of Lost Knife Circle in Gaithersburg, when he was pushed from behind.  One of the suspects then threatened the victim with a knife and demanded money.  The suspect obtained some property from the victim and then all five suspects left the area.  There was no other description of the suspects.

 

CARJACKING 

            -On 05-21-05, at 12:45 a.m., an 18-year-old Bethesda male was on Level 2 or 3 of parking garage #57 on Elm St. in Bethesda, when he was grabbed from behind.  Two suspects demanded the victim’s car keys, then pushed him to the ground and assaulted him.  The suspects took the victim’s vehicle, a 1996 blue Ford Explorer, and other property he was carrying, and left the scene.  No description of the suspects was available.

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 05-22-05, at 8:45 p.m., an 18-year-old Poolesville male and a 19-year-old Germantown male rode in a vehicle with three acquaintances to the 16200 block of Frederick Rd. in Rockville.  Once there, a verbal argument turned physical, and the three suspects assaulted the two victims and took their property.

Suspect #1 – W/M, 23, 5’11”-6’0”, 210 lbs., tattoo on calf, blue T-shirt, khaki pants.

Suspect #2 – W/M, 20-21, 6’1”-6’2”, 180-200 lbs., black T-shirt, black hat.

Suspect # 3 – identity known

            -On 05-22-05, at 11:00 p.m., a 17-year-old Germantown male was attempting to make a phone call outside the 7-Eleven store at 12861 Clopper Rd. in Germantown, when two suspects approached him.  The suspects then forced the victim to the woods behind the Cinnamon Woods Community Center in Germantown, where they assaulted him and took his money.  The suspects then fled the area.

Suspect #1 – B/M, 6’0”, black sweatshirt and shoes.

Suspect #2 – W/M, 5’6”, 140 lbs., black shirt and blue pants. 

            -On 05-25-05, at 5:40 a.m., a 51-year-old North Potomac man was in the area of West Side Dr. and Muddy Branch Rd. in Gaithersburg, when an acquaintance approached him, assaulted him, and took cash from him.  The suspect then left the area.

Suspect #1 – Hispanic/M, 40-45, 6’2”, heavy, green jacket, tan shirt. 

            -On 05-24-05, at 9:45 p.m., a 46-year-old female employee for Boston Market at 3825 Aspen Hill Rd in the Aspen Hill area of Silver Spring was attempting to make a delivery to a home in the 12900 block of Grenoble Dr. in Silver Spring, when two suspects approached. The suspects pushed the victim, grabbed the food she was carrying, and then demanded money.  The suspects then fled on foot on a path between Grenoble Dr. and Federal Street.   Both suspects were described as unknown age and race males, wearing black clothing. 

 

SEX ASSAULT 

            -On 05-21-05, at 7:30 p.m., a 20-year-old Gaithersburg woman was sexually assaulted by a known male at Giant Food store at 229 Kentlands Boulevard in Gaithersburg.  The suspect’s identity is known and the investigation is continuing. 

            -On 05-23-05, at 9:30 a.m., a 21-year-old Silver Spring woman was sexually assaulted in the 11500 block of February Circle in the White Oak area of Silver Spring.  The suspect is known.  The investigation is continuing.

Suspect #1 – Hispanic/M, 30-40, 5’5”-5’7”, 140-150 lbs., green eyes, sandy brown hair.

 

VANDALISM ARRESTS 

            -On 05-22-05, at 3:15 a.m., Ian Rivas O’Rourke, age 18, of the 14400 block of Parkvale Rd. in Rockville, was arrested and charged with Malicious Destruction of Property Over $500 and Conspiracy to Commit Destruction of Property.  A 17-year-old Rockville male was also arrested and charged with Malicious Destruction of Property Over $500, Resisting Arrest, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia, and Conspiracy to Commit Destruction of Property.  The arrests were a result of an incident that morning at Rockville High School.

            -7500 block of Coddle Harbor Lane in Potomac, between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on 05-21-05.  Entry made, no force, property taken.

 

2ND DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL 

            -COSI RESTAURANT, 7251 Woodmont Ave. in Bethesda, between 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on 05-21-05.  Entry made, no force, property taken.

            -KENSINGTON PIZZA AND KABOB, 3701 University Blvd. W. in Kensington, between 11:00 p.m. on 05-18-05 and 10:00 a.m. on 05-19-05.  Forced entry, property taken. 

RESIDENTIAL 

            -3500 block of Dunlop St. in Chevy Chase, between 2:30 p.m. and 3:55 p.m. on 05-23-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -6800 block of Glenbrook Rd. in Bethesda, between 11:30 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. on 05-18-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -7700 block of Brookville Rd. in Chevy Chase, at 3:50 p.m. on 05-23-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -6000 block of Bradley Blvd. in Bethesda, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on 05-17-05.  Forced entry, nothing taken.

 

3RD DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL 

            -SOUTHWAY BUILDERS, 2131 Industrial Pwky. in the Montgomery Industrial Park in Silver Spring, between 5:00 p.m. on 05-13-05 and 7:00 a.m. on 05-16-05.  Forced entry, property taken. 

RESIDENTIAL 

            -2100 block of Adventurine Way in Silver Spring, between 1:30 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. on 05-24-05.  Forced entry, nothing taken.

 

5TH DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL

            -13500 block of Hamlet Square in Germantown, between 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. on 05-24-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -25900 block of Largo Ct. in Damascus, between 10:45 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on 05-23-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

 

6TH DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

            -Unit block of West Deer Park Ave. in Gaithersburg, between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on 05-17-05.  Forced entry, nothing taken.

            -400 block of N. Summit Ave. in Gaithersburg, between 11:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on 05-20-05.  Entry made, no force, property taken.

            -100 block of Chevy Chase St. in Gaithersburg, between 3:00 p.m. on 05-19-05 and 7:00 a.m. on 05-20-05.  Forced entry, property taken

            -Unit block of S. Frederick Ave. in Gaithersburg, at 10:42 a.m. on 05-17-05.  Forced entry, nothing taken.
