RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

 

June 6, 2006

 

PEEPING TOM 

-On 5-22-06 at 4:09 p.m., a 40-year-old woman from the 4000 block of Ferrara Dr. in Silver Spring reported a peeping tom incident that occurred between 11:30 and midnight on 05-21-06. The victim was in her bedroom, changing her clothes, when she heard a noise outside.  When she looked out of her bedroom window, she observed an unknown male looking into the window.  He fled after being seen by the victim.
Suspect – Unknown/M, dark eyes, curly black hair, thin face, thin nose, no facial hair.

 

SEX OFFENSE

On 5-22-06, employees of the Potomac Ridge Behavioral Center at 14901 Broschart Rd. in Gaithersburg, reported a sex offense that occurred on or about 05-16-06 against one of its 19-year-old female residents from Westminster, MD.  The victim reported that another resident, a 30-year-old man from Glen Burnie, MD, had touched her inappropriately.

 

ARMED ROBBERY ARRESTS 

            -On 05-22-06 at 10:30 p.m., police conducting surveillance observed a man acting suspiciously, driving to and going in and out of several businesses in shopping centers in the Wheaton and Rockville areas.  Officers approached the suspect in the 3700 block of Bel Pre Rd., and investigation led to evidence of the intention of the suspect to commit an armed commercial robbery.  Teunis Luke Jansen, age 26, of the 3700 block of Bel Pre Rd. in Silver Spring was arrested and charged with one count of attempted armed robbery and one count of concealed deadly weapon. 

            -On 05-18-06 at about 6:45 p.m., a 39-year-old Gaithersburg woman was at a bus stop near Lakeforest Mall at 701 Russell Ave. in Gaithersburg, when two Hispanic males attempted to rob her of her purse at knifepoint.  The victim was able to run away.  Police officers in the area observed the suspects chasing the victim, and apprehended them.  Arrested was Jose Cristobal Nolasco, age 20, of no fixed address, and a 15-year-old juvenile male, also of no fixed address.   

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY ARRESTS

-On 05-22-06 at 8:31 p.m., police responded to a strong arm robbery that had just occurred in the 14200 block of Long Green Dr. in Silver Spring.  The victim, a 14-year-old male from the 14200 block of Long Green Dr., reported that a 15-year-old male from the unit block of Long Green Ct. in Silver Spring had grabbed him and stolen his Ipod.  The suspect was arrested at his home, and charged with robbery and 2nd degree assault, before being released to his mother. 

-On 05-27-06 at 1:23 a.m., police responded to the report of a strong arm robbery that had just occurred.  The victim, a 29-year-old man from Montgomery Village, was beaten and robbed of cash and other property in the parking lot in the 18400 block of Lost Knife Circle in Montgomery Village by several black males.  Three arrests were made near the scene by police:  Robert Troy Jackson, Jr., age 19, of the 18500 block of Owl Run Way in Germantown; Daniel Bennet-Conyers, age 18, of the 13000 block of Robins Nest Terr. in Germantown; and Perry Reginald Faulk, age 18, of an unknown address on Bel Pre Rd. in Silver Spring.  All three were charged with armed robbery and 2nd degree assault. 

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT ARREST 

            -On 05-20-06 at 1:12 a.m., police responded to a fight in progress at the La Mexicana Restaurant at 13060 Middlebrook Rd. in Germantown.  There, police arrested Dior Maurice Poteat, age 23, of the 6800 block of Yellow Sheave Ct. in Frederick, and Ebony Taneisha Johnson, age 21, of the 20500 block of Summer Song Ln. in Germantown.  Both subjects brandished knives at security who was working the restaurant, after Poteat was asked to leave for disorderly behavior.  They were both charged with attempted 1st degree assault and 2nd degree assault.  No one was seriously injured.

·        1700 block of Priscilla Dr. in Silver Spring, between 9:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on 05-25-06.  Forced entry, property taken. 

·        2800 block of Cabin Creek Dr. in Burtonsville, between 4:00 p.m. on 05-24-06, and 3:30 p.m. on 05-25-06.  No force, property taken.

·        10800 block of Georgia Ave. in Wheaton, between 7:30 p.m. on 05-13-06, and 10:01 a.m. on 05-15-06.  Forced entry, property taken.
