RECENT CRIME SUMMARY

June 7, 2005

 

ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 05-28-05, at 11:20 p.m., a delivery person for Jason’s Food in Takoma Park, was attempting to make a delivery to an apartment in the 1700 block of Hampshire Green Lane in Silver Spring, when he was approached from behind by two suspects. The suspects displayed handguns, took cash from the victim, and fled the scene in the direction of Prince George’s County.
            -Suspect #1 – long black shirt, blue baggy jeans, green bandana.
            -Suspect #2 – B/M, 25 to 30, 5’6”, 150 to 180 lbs., black pants, and shirt. 

-On 05-30-05, at 12:30 a.m., a 25-year-old Silver Spring man was walking from the Silver Spring Metro Station.  While he was in the rear parking lot of the 8100 block of Eastern Ave, he was approached from behind by a suspect. The suspect pressed an object into the victim’s back and demanded money. The victim was then forced to give up some cash. The suspect then fled on foot, north towards Colesville Road.
            -Suspect – B/M, 18 to 19, 5’10” to 6’0”, thin build, glasses, jeans, dark skin complexion. 

 

ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY 

            -On 05-26-05, at 9:10 p.m., a delivery person for Potomac Pizza in Rockville, was attempting to make a delivery to a residence in the 12100 block of Bentridge Place in Rockville, when he was approached by two suspects. The victim quickly got into his vehicle and locked the doors. The suspects displayed a knife and attempted to get into the car. The victim then drove away. The suspects fled in an unknown direction. No property was obtained.
            -Suspect #1 – B/M, 20 to 25, 5’6” to 5’9”, 200 lbs., white shirt.
            -Suspect #2 – B/M, 20 to 25, 5’3” to 5’5”, 125 lbs., dark shirt.

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY 

            -On 05-30-05, at 2:25 a.m., a 31-year-old Washington, D.C. woman was walking down Ellsworth Dr. in Silver Spring, when she was approached by a suspect who demanded her purse. A struggle ensued over the purse and the victim did not let go. The suspect then fled in the direction of Spring Street.
            -Suspect – B/M, 18 to 21, 5’10” to 6’0”, 175 to 190 lbs., dreadlocks hair, blue jeans, black shirt, and sunglasses.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT 

            -On 05-28-05, at 10:35 p.m., a 17-year-old Silver Spring man was leaving the 7-Eleven store in the 9200 block of New Hampshire Ave. in Silver Spring, when he was jumped by about 20 Hispanic males. They punched him and hit him with some kind of weapons. He was transported to the local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  

            -On 06-01-05, between 10:49 p.m. and 11:05 p.m., a Montgomery County Police officer was assaulted in his vehicle.   The suspect, who was operating a vehicle with tags that were reported stolen, was being pursued by the police.  The suspect swerved towards the officer’s vehicle in an attempt to strike it.  The pursuit ended as the suspect vehicle collided with another vehicle.  A warrant has been obtained against the driver of the vehicle. 

 

SEX ASSAULT

            -On 05-27-05, at 6:50 p.m., two brothers, 4 and 5-years-old, went to the men’ room near the Food Court at Westfield Shoppingtown Montgomery (Montgomery Mall).  The mother got concerned that they were taking too long, and when she looked into the restroom, she saw the suspect with his hands on her 4-year-old’s shoulders and his face near the victim’s buttocks.  The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction.  The suspect is described as a white male, 45 to 50, 5’06, 180 lbs., with gray curly hair.  He was wearing a light-colored dress shirt, unknown color of pants and shoes.

 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT ARREST 

            -On 05-27-05, Vincent J. Harrison, 43, of the 600 block of Quincy St., NW, Washington, D.C. was arrested and charged with Fist and Second Degree Assault, Possession of CDS – Cocaine and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia.  The arrest was the result of an incident that occurred on 05-27-05 in the 600 block of Wayne Avenue in Silver Spring. 

            -On 05-28-05, Pablo None Alcides, 40, of the 400 block of Northampton Drive in Silver Spring, was arrested and charged with Attempted First Degree Assault and Reckless Endangerment.  The arrest was the result of an incident that occurred in the 700 block of Northampton Drive that just occurred.

 

BURGLARY ARREST 

            -On 05-26-05, six juveniles, two 16-year-old females, two 17-year-old females, a 15-year-old male and a 16-year-old male, all from Bethesda, were arrested and charged with Third Degree Burglary, Conspiracy, Trespassing and Possession of CDS  Marijuana.  The arrest was the result of an incident that just occurred in the 6400 block of Camrose Terrace in Bethesda. 

            -On 05-29-05 Marcus M. Moore, 18, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with First Degree Burglary, First and Second Degree Assault, Trespassing and Destruction of Property.  The arrest was the result of an incident that had just occurred in the 12900 block of Alder Leaf Drive in Germantown.

RESIDENTIAL 

            -5800 block of Stillwell Road in Rockville, between 6:00 p.m. on 05-30-05 and 7:00 a.m. on 05-31-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

 

2nd DISTRICT 

RESIDENTIAL

            -4900 block of Battery Lane in Bethesda, between 8:45 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on 05-25-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -7000 block of Winterberry Lane in Bethesda, between 6:00 p.m. on 05-26-05 and 3:01 a.m. on 05-30-05.  Forced property, unknown what was taken.

 

3rd DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL 

            -FLOWER BRANCH APARTMENTS, 8658 Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring, between 5:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on 05-26-05.  Forced entry, nothing taken.           

RESIDENTIAL 

            -10100 block of Brunswick Avenue in the Forest Glen area of Silver Spring, between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on 05-27-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -1700 block of Corwin Drive in Silver Spring, between 8:30 p.m. on 05-28-05 and 1:52 a.m. on 05-29-05.  Used key, property taken.

            -9100 block of Watson Road in Silver Spring, between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on 05-26-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -13700 block of Colgate Way in the Knightbridge area of Silver Spring, between 10:00 p.m. on 05-28-05 and 9:00 a.m. on 05-29-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -10000 block of Sutherland Road in the Four Corners area of Silver Spring, between 2:00 p.m. on 05-19-05 and 11:30 p.m. on 05-22-05.  Forced entry, nothing taken.

            -3900 block of Blackburn Lane in the Burtonsville area of Silver Spring, between 8:30 p.m. on 05-28-05 and 10:14 p.m. on 05-30-05.  Forced entry, property taken.

            -800 block of Loxford Terrace in Silver Spring, between 11:45 p.m. and 11:51 p.m. on 05-26-05.  Forced entry, nothing taken.

 

5th DISTRICT 

COMMERCIAL 

            -SEAFOOD IN THE BUFF, 20220 Frederick Road in Germantown, between 11:00 p.m. on 05-28-05 and 9:00 a.m. on 05-29-05.  Forced entry, property taken. 

RESIDENTIAL 

            -100 block of Kent Square Road in Gaithersburg, between 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on 05-30-05.  Forced entry, property taken.
