RECENT CRIME SUMMARY
June 9, 2005
RAPE
-On 06-01-05, a 15-year-old Germantown
female reported that she was raped by two males in an apartment in
the 18000 block of Chalet Dr. in Germantown on 05-28-05 between 7:15
p.m. and 9:00 p.m. The investigation is continuing.
BANK ROBBERY
- On 06-02-05
at 11:28 a.m., the Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union at 555 Quince
Orchard Road in Gaithersburg was robbed. Responding officers
learned that two suspects, armed with handguns, entered the bank and
demanded money from employees. After the suspects obtained an
undisclosed amount of cash, they fled on foot to the rear of the

Suspect #1 – B/M, mid 20’s, 6’ to 6’1”
tall, weighing 180 to 200 pounds, dark blue or black hooded
sweatshirt with emblem on front, cargo pants, black gloves, black
ski mask, knit cap with red emblem, white shoes.

20’s, 5’10” to 5’11” tall, weighing 180 to 200 pounds, grey hooded
sweatshirt with “Fat Albert” characters on front, grey work gloves,
black ski mask, blue carpenter jeans, white sneakers, blue cap.
-On
06-03-05, at 9:05 a.m., the Sandy Spring Bank, located at 1601 E.
Gude Dr. in Rockville was robbed. A lone suspect entered the bank
and handed the teller a note announcing a robbery. After obtaining
an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled on foot in an

5’10”, 150-160 lbs., gray beard, white baseball cap, dark winter
jacket with fur collar.
ARMED
ROBBERY
-On 06-05-05, at
3:40 p.m., a 22-year-old Silver Spring man was sitting on the porch
in front of the 11600 block of Stewart Lane in Silver Spring, when
he was approached by two suspects. Suspect #2 displayed a gun and
demanded money. Suspect #1 took the victim’s money, and then both
suspects fled on foot.

5’5”-5’6”, white tank top, jeans, maroon or navy hat.

Suspect #2 – B/M, 16,
5’7”-5’8”, navy windbreaker, jeans, black scarf.
STRONG
ARM ROBBERY
-On
05-27-05, at 10:00 p.m., a 44-year-old Gaithersburg woman reported
that she was in the area of the 18300 block of Lost Knife Circle in
Gaithersburg when a known suspect approached, grabbed her purse, and
ran inside a nearby apartment. The suspect’s identity is known and
the investigation is continuing.
-On 06-04-05,
at 11:40 p.m., police responded to the 2900 block of Gracefield Rd.
in Silver Spring for the report of a shooting. Two teens, a
14-year-old Silver Spring female and a 16-year-old Burtonsville
male, had been shot while at a birthday party there. In addition, a
19-year-old Silver Spring male and a 13-year-old Burtonsville male
were assaulted by several unknown suspects. The shooting victims
were transported to local hospitals for treatment of their
non-life-threatening injuries. The two victims who were assaulted
drove themselves to a hospital for treatment. There is no
description on the assault suspects. ***

Suspect #1 – B/M, 16-18,
6’0”-6’2”, 180 lbs., black braided hair, dark pants and shirt.
-On
06-05-05, at 1:00 a.m., a 29-year-old male was in the area of the
400 block of Muddy Branch Rd. in Gaithersburg when he was attack by
two suspects. While one suspect held the victim’s arms, the other
suspect hit him over the head with a bottle. The victim was
transported to the local hospital with non-life threatening
injuries.

30, 5’9”, 175 lbs.

Suspect #2 – Hispanic/M,
30, 5’5”, 150 lbs., black hair.
-On
06-03-05 at 10:21 p.m., a 21-year-old Germantown male was working in
the 18300 block of Lost Knife Circle in Gaithersburg, when he walked
up to a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle suddenly reversed and
struck the victim in the leg. The vehicle then left the scene. The
suspect is known and the investigation is continuing.
AGGRAVATED
ASSAULT ARREST
-On 06-07-05,
Christopher Paek, 21, of Fairfax, Virginia, was arrested and charged
with Attempted First-degree Murder, First-degree Assault,
Second-degree Assault, and Use of a Deadly Weapon. The arrest was
the result of the incident at Dave and Busters in White Flint Mall

ROBBERY ARREST
-Roland William Carpenter, 48, of the 3700 block of New Hampshire
Avenue in Washington, D.C., was arrested and charged with Robbery,
First Degree Assault and Theft Under $100. The arrest was the
result of incident that occurred in the 5400 block of Westbard
Circle in Bethesda.
AGGRAVATED
ASSAULT ARREST
-Brian
Sweeney, 33, of the Rockville, was arrested and charged with First
and Second Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment and Use of a
Handgun in Commission of a Crime of Violence/Felony. The arrest was
the result of a domestic dispute that occurred at his residence.
-Vicente
Antonio Velez-Antunez, 33, was arrested and charged with First and
Second Degree Assault, Possession of a Deadly Weapon with Intent to
Injure, and Reckless Endangerment. The arrest was the result of an
domestic dispute that occurred at his residence.
BURGLARY ARREST
-Kevin
Anthony Walker, 35, of the 19900 block of Sweetgum Circle in
Germantown, was arrested and charged with First Degree Burglary,
Second Degree Burglary, and Destruction of Property. The arrest was
the result of an incident that had just occurred in the 12500 block
of Granite Ridge Drive in Gaithersburg.
